I should probably clarify that while the Consul that makes the execution does have a veto, he's assumed to waive it if the others do (e.g. Jack is executed as of #1097).

Execution scene up soon.

Plutarch wrote:
As Pyrrhus was preparing to sail to Italy, Cineas, his chief ambassador, had the following conversation with him:

Cineas began: "The Romans are reported to be great warriors and conquerors of many nations. If the gods permit us to overcome them, how shall we use our victory?"

"That is an easy question," responded Pyrrhus. "Once we conquer the Romans, there will not be any city in all of Italy that will resist us."

Cineas paused, then asked: "Once we have Italy, what next?"

"Sicily, which is a wealthy island, should be easy to take," said Pyrrhus.

Cineas continued: "You speak what is perfectly probable, but will the possession of Sicily put an end to the war?"

"Carthage and Africa would then be within reach," said Pyrrhus, "and once we have them, who in the world would dare to oppose us?"

"No one, certainly," said Cineas, "And then what shall we do?"

Pyrrhus still did not see where he had been led by this argument, so he said: "Then, my dear Cineas, we will relax, and drink all day, and amuse ourselves with pleasant conversation."

"What prevents us from doing that now?" said Cineas, "We already have enough to make that possible without any more hard work, suffering, and danger."

The logic of this argument troubled Pyrrhus, but he was unwilling to abandon the hopes of what he so much desired.
Way to stumble on the first hurdle, dude. Should've stayed at home.

Jack, King Pyrrhus of Epirus, Godfather, has been executed by SpyreX.

It's now Night 3. Night 3 ends on Sunday 11:00 GMT (a couple hours early because I'll be on then.)

Chaz as the bodyguard surprises me. Was leaning towards him as scum. I think we have a vig, a limited one at that. Similar to how we had a limited cop.

OMG, porochaz was town!
seeing that:
a) there is only one NK
b) scum would never kill porochaz
c) porochaz was a BG
I assume that porochaz successfully protected a townie.

I still think that SensFan is scum.
when I have some time I will reread porochaz and try to figure out who he might have protected.

I had a good laugh when I read Jack was the godfather, Pyrrhus himself. Makes sense though, now that I think of it. Since there was a cop, the godfather was probably investigation immune. That means Jack was the only one who could've tried such a gambit, hoping to draw an investigation that would appear to clear him. His play still amazes me though.

Porochaz was town then. I never got around to doing an ISO read or writing a case on him, but my suspicions were clearly misplaced. He feels like an odd target for the mafia though, so perhaps he did try to protect someone and succeeded. Damn it... even without using his ability he would've been valuable by being able to confirm himself by simply claiming. Now we won't know who he protected, if indeed he did.

Only one death. That pretty much rules out serial killer, so a vigilante looks likely now. With him on our side, I expect two more mafia left, one of them possibly a power role. Cineas and Caecus (chamber's role) were opponents in the peace talks between Pyrrhus and Rome, and since Caecus was a limited cop, Cineas could be a limited role cop. There is a very short entry about Cineas in Wikipedia, and reading about how he was supposedly able to greet every senator and guard by name one day after arriving in Rome immediately suggested role cop to me. Just a guess, but it would be appropriate.

Consuls, The Fonz and Shanba. The Fonz I support fully, but Shanba is a real surprise, having never posted and replacing into a slot that has contributed nothing. The idea must be that he has to catch up quick and provide some thoughts to live up to his office.

Tribunes... I'm not missing my chance to vote today.

GOod morning vietnam/wherever the hell we are! I've done a prelim read already, you'll be pleased to hear. You'll be displeased to hear that mostly what I got out of it is how much I hate you all. No offence.

Kinda surprised to be consul, considering the guys I replaced managed a grand total of three posts between them. Guarantees me a day to get properly grounded though.

I currently have two reads: Feysal scummy, Fonz obvtown. My immediate priority is to read up on some popular suspects and some quiet in the shadowy types who've attracted no attention. Cause generally that's where scum is hiding in my experience. Right now though playing games with my brother online, so that'll happen later.

Oh, checking the playerlist: primate was p. townish too. Those guys are off my List of Execution. (It doesn't look like we're doing that in this game, but since we're not I thought I'd make a start: on my list is anyone I would consider executing today. If the other consul executes someone on my list, I will veto that shit.

This fits exactly with what I was thinking, and my gut is saying the last two can't be Sens and parama together. Of them, parama is giving me much more of a scumvibe.

I wouldn't know if scum would do it to make themselves look better since I'm town, but it does sacrifice some sort of power thing, and I don't know if scum would be willing to do that. I mean, lynch-immunity and the ability to veto a lynch? That's very appealing to scum.

Except it's not sacrificing a power. It's giving it to someone else. You even said yourself that the alternative is neither of you being tribune.
