I should probably explain the chart, too. Arrows point to direction of interaction but not its nature; Lindisfarne pushed against mikemike778 until his replacement, mikemike778 did some defending of MrDNA32 (minor, but I feel it's significant), back-and-forth between LordChronos and mikemike778 with LordChronos eventually dropping, back-and-forth between AzBlueM and mikemike778.
Equinox wrote:Kishime, explain why Charlie was a poor choice compared to mikemike778, please.
The sheeping case on Charlie over the past few pages is not nearly as scummy as the post made by mike that I quoted in 297. I also don't really like how mike jumped on the RC bandwagon after he claimed VT.
Explain to me how Mike is a poor choice compared to Charlie, please.
Huh ...
So you think using random.org for a random throwaway vote was scummier than Charlie sheeping Equinox for a
potential lynch
... You do realise that as soon as I found something even the slightest bit scummy about someone that I voted accordinly don't you?
I actually had a look at a few other games on this site whilst off over xmas and in one of them half the players including the IC used random.org for the RVS vote.

Is this game ongoing? If not, can you link to it? (Or at least tell me who the IC or mod is so I can track down the game.)
Yep I did intentionally change my play for this game compared to 1013. In 1013 as scum, I was playing pretty conservatively - proof reading everything about three times to avoid making any slip ups, covering my tracks, making sure everything sounded pro-town that kind of stuff.
As town this game, I figured I had nothing to hide and would be open about anything and say what was in my head.
With hindsight, maybe that was a mistake but thats what newbie games are for.

Interesting. Though I should note that the IC was the first to random.org his vote, and then that was followed by a bunch of other newbies.
Let's save the RVS/RNG issue for post-game, since I don't think it's relevant. (Whatever controversy that occurred surrounding the stances made in this game so far are, however, still fair game.)
The town, still panicking from the murder of VRK, was looking for the people who did this to bring them to justice. With nightfall close, it was evident that
Charlie
would have to go. In another universe, this might've worked. But, alas..
Charlie, a Vanilla Townie, was lynched Day 1
.
It is now Night 1. The sun will return on January 5th, 1:28 PM standard time. Any roles with night actions may now send them in

What are your thoughts on the game as a whole? I think a catch up post is in order sometime soon.
As for NK-analysis, I think this one's really obvious. Equinox was pretty much obvtown, a leading voice, and the IC to boot, all making her a prime target.

I actually read the thread before I got my role pm since it was pretty short and I saw DNA was about to get replaced.
I was pretty sure DNA and RC were town and was pretty sure mike was mafia. I really, really don't like his early posting where it seems like he's trying not to step on anyone's toes and is too afraid to take a strong stance.
In other news, I invite all players to go back and re-read the game in its entirety, with the knowledge that Charlie and Equinox are town.
Ask yourself these questions:
-Did any pushes on either of them (esp. Charlie) looked contrived or faked?
-Did any votes get dropped on them nonchalantly or without reasoning?
And then of course, look for connections between any two players, look for people who didn't post too often (not for reasons of "I don't have time" but for reasons of "I don't want to make scum slips so I'd rather not post a lot"). And then of course look for scum slips too.

Surely you have more to say than that? The more thoroughly you explain your opinions of the other players and the happenings of the game so far, the better we can get an idea of where you stand. It really would help us greatly if you did.

Those are good suggestions, and I'll be looking into it. Not now though, I haven't got enough time for a full reread at the moment. Incidentally, do you plan on doing this yourself?

Lol, so you thought the player you turned out to 'be' appeared town to you did you? , well there's a surprise . Forgive me, for treating that line with some scepticism.
Out of interest, when exactly do you expect 'strong stances' to be made ? Page 1 ?
No one strikes me as possible scum yet ... and we are playing RQS instead of RVS it seems ...
You were afraid to vote because we were not "playing RVS." Scummy.

LordChronos wrote:Do you believe a vote is only to lynch someone? Why does the fact that questions were asked make it so you can't make an early vote?
I believe you vote for people for one of two reasons:
a) You think they are bad (scum)
b) To see how they react from it
At this point - there was no one I have my eye on as being bad and would be very surprised if anyone felt pressured enough from a random vote which everyone knows is irrelevent, to give something away.
Still if you want me to vote for the sake of it then fair enough, off to random.org we go
VOTE: Lindisfarne
Why would you vote just because someone else wanted you to? Couldn't take the questions LC was asking anymore?
Uite, I thought NK-analysis was frowned upon on this site, though I'd have to agree the reasons are obvious.
RC, do you have a quota of maximum one useful post per day?
Kishi buddying RC +1, Kishi mudslinging +1
Reread in progress, theory still makes my head hurt

What makes you think I was afraid to vote ?
I take it by this and your previous post, you mean I was afraid to take a strong stance in my first 3 posts. I can only apologise but don't forget I am a newbie and unfortunately my scumhunting skills are not yet well developed enough to find the bad assess this early on I'm afraid.
I'll try harder in future and see if I can nail the scum (both of them hopefully) on the first page so we can have a nice early finish

Pretty sure I've answered this before ... lots of times in fact.

Actually given that people can post whatever they want (regardless of alignment) but that all that really matters is
a) who voted for who
b) who is NKd
Ignoring one of these two seems a bit strange. I agree with Equi there's always a reason for a NK and its well worth analysis whether publicly or privately. I found it bizarre that in 1013, I was advised by ACM that we could kill whoever we wanted without worrying about NK analysis.
Its fairly obvious why they wanted Equi dead though in this case.
