The reporter role is pretty powerful if used wisely. If you get a report on a scum, and they don't know it, they're caught if they try to claim townie... Not as powerful as a cop, but if you don't think the scum will want this ability out of the way you're fooling yourself.d8P wrote:I smell a rat. Just did a search for cowardly reporter and found zip, zero occurences other than references to this game. Looking at the wiki, it takes all of two clicks to get to it. I think Illumina checked the wiki for an appropriate role and found this.
Not true. I think you forgot about this when you went looking for a claim.Illumina wrote:The only problem with claiming is that it makes me a major target

I had that role at a game at the offsite one time. I nailed cocoa with it after forcing her to claim. She claimed PJV.BabyJesus wrote:
so is "reporter" like a watcher....Monty wrote:

Vote: Illumina- looks like we've located a slip.
Illumina claims "cowardly reporter" and that he's obligated to give the result of his investigation, but he hasn't actually given the result of his investigation?
curious...
Illumina, care to elaborate on your "results"?-

I was sort of thinking this part from the mod -LyingBrian wrote:
what specifically makes no sense? my whole statement, i think not! please elaborate!inHimshallibe wrote:LyingBrian, that makes no sense.
inHimshallibe wrote:Fritzler is absolutely confirmed.and you know this how?... it's not possible for him to be part of a cult? the cult leader resurrects one player each night to be part of his cult...sound plausible to me! in fact, i think it would not be a bad idea to test this... yes we would be killing (either by lynch or night-kill) a "confirmed" townie, but i think exterminating the possibility is not a bad move... besides 1 vote, how much better off is the town w/ Fritzler?REALLY!
i'm not confused, and i'm not scum...inHimshallibe wrote:I think maybe you're just confused, but confused shtick is often pulled by scum, too.
If we're hunting for scum, why start with a guy who is definately not mafia? So Fritzler - townie is lynched. It is now night 2 could everyone with a choice please send them via email as soon as possible.-

fair enough, but we're going to have to get quite a ways into this game before lynching fritzler becomes a good percentage play.LyingBrian wrote:@Monty:
yes, he was a townie when he was lynched, but bringing him back from the dead could change his alignment! this may be a bad example, but look at Pooky Mafia 2! the same thing happened there... all halo_freak said was that "Fritzler is back." he did not make a definitive statement that he was still a townie, so i don't think we should necessarily assume that!
i'm not saying we should lynch Fritzler today, i agree that would be a bad move! but at the same time, don't try to outguess the mod! i'm just saying that we should keep this possibility in the back of our minds...-

IMO, if another "confirmed" townie is resurrected tomorrow, we should kill 1 just to make sure...-

vague hints don't do much for me when you're near a lynch.Gonzo wrote:
Oh, yeah... I should probably reply to this. You have good points, if they were made about someone else, I would probably follow your lead.Illumina wrote:I'm not entirely sure whether Gonzo was trying to hide anything or was just unaware. He does have the tendency to switch gears at the drop of a hat, and has suggested that he's still learning how to pick up scumminess - his behavior matches someone that's new to the game, though it could be the ploy of an experienced player. Judging by his total time here (postcount of ~30), I'm thinking it's the former.
Being a new player doesn't preclude him from being mafia, obviously, but his forgetting we were vig-testing me may have been an honest mistake.
Because I'm curious, though, I'm going to put some pressure on him for now.
Vote Gonzo
I've been very unpredictable, yes. This blurs all signs of what role I play. Though it does has its bad points if I'm scum.
I might point out that how long I have been on MafiaScum, has nothing to do with my experience. But you could be right there.
Yes, now that is the final question. Am I an experienced player? Am I still learning? Or am I just having fun?
My behavior could mean anything.

your right, here, there is no reason to suspect a cult at this present time... i was just making a suggestion, trying to keep an open mind... not entirely sure why this is a scum tell either, but maybe b/c it distracts the town from the KNOWN presence of Mafia?FOS - Lying Brian
Unvote
This bothered me as well, but being relatively new here, many of the things that bother me are common occurrances. If cults aren't a common occurrence here...
This is troublesome.-

Sure, we MIGHT get a positive result, but we will definately get A result which is something this game has been lacking for a month now.illumina wrote: My point still stands: from a town perspective, lynching blindly doesn't make sense. Seems to me that mafia are the ones who would encourage this, because they're the only ones who would benefit. Your message seems to be that we may as well try, becaue hey, we might get a positive result, and that's not going far in convincing me you're pro-town.-

Babyjesus also claimed inhim wasn't acting the night he tracked him...Jimmy the Rez wrote:Geez ...so I post that I'll read the thread and when I get to the end it's the night scene. Thanks, peoples. :/
...see if I still remember anything...
BabyJesus claimed tracker a long time ago...
So, if InHim was amafiatracker, what does that say about BabyJ?
Possibly working the other side? I'd ask if the mafia families are symmetrical, but it seems there haven't been many mafia in the lynch- and/or morning-scenes.
Not sure what that means, but
vote babyjesusuntil its sorted out.-

Yes, I know he didn't target someone last night....which kinda rules out cop, doc, roleblocker, cultleader, etc... that requires him to target people. He could be mafia, and just not the one that did the kill last night, however.LyingBrian wrote:@BabyJesus...
you only know that inHimshallibe didn't TARGET somebody last night, right?.. so he could still have another role likeroleblocker, cult leader, cop, etc., right?
how would a tracker not be targetting someone at night?-

No, I'm just pointing out that we'll know whether your scum or not once you're dead, so even if I think you're lying scum right now, I'll find out for sure as soon as someone else votes for you. I'll be able to act on whatever info you have accordingly.BabyJesus wrote:

Friggin Zippy... If he had claimed we at least would have another participator here.Flying Dutchman wrote:Isn't it fun to play a game with 2 players, Monty?
Also, should we assume that he WAS acting as a cop? Nobody has claimed the actual cop, and if Zippy was a backup, he was probably backing up the Forensic Detective who died back in the mass modkilling. He should have some views since then.-
