Alright, I'm going to take a moment to do some explaining, in a rare moment of sanity for myself:
Tvellalot (for starters, your name sucks, offense intended), you just unvoted for no reason in particular. You voted zombeh for pressure (hint: don't tell people it's a pressure vote if it is, that defeats the purpose), then proceeded to FoS him (when you already had your vote on him... kinda pointless), and then proceed to unvote, without giving a reason, or voting for someone else.. We are early into day 1... The only way to get people talking and discussion moving to find scum (aka scum-hunting) is to use your votes, and ask people questions. I decided to explain all this rather than ask you mass questions since I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt since it's a noob game. With that said, if someone had $100 in their hands that they would give me for voting the scum-pair at this very moment, I would guess zombeh-pugna and tvellalott.
So here we go, children.
It's question time. Gather around, sit in a circle.
Tvellalott, you get to go first!
You said your initial vote was because you have seen other people do that in others games.. Why did you feel the need to tell us you were copying someone else? Why didn't you just be-yourself and play with some originality? Why did you FoS someone who you had voted for? Why did you unvote with no reason given, and why have you not used your vote?
Mr. Abe, you're up!!! Pick a card any card.. Oh wait, just take every card I give you:
Why did someone typing conform instead of confirm bother you?? Even if it is intentional what made you question it? (To be honest, I didn't think that would even get any discussion, but I'm glad it did) Also, [Heath Ledger] why so serious?[/Heath Ledger]. Now, like tvellyboy, you also stated you voted someone for pressure, what did you think you were accomplishing by putting your vote on him? Do you really think it pressured him? What do you think you claiming that it was "just" for pressure does to his reaction upon seeing your vote
@FakeGod: Why did you choose your username/What does it come from? And, you said you got "vote devices" ready when tvellyboy (yes, that's my new nickname for him) said I sounded scummy, but you never voted me, did you agree with him? What do you think of early bandwagons(scummy or not-scummy, pro-town or anti-town, etc)?
Now, who's next to ride the Ferris Wheel... Oh Kalofer, hop on in! This ride's on the house, since you helped me figure out how to use the "preview" function before. Do you find it scummy that I didn't answer your questions? What were you hoping to achieve with them and their answers? And, also, questioning "everything" is alright in theory, but don't post all your questions and re-questioning, as that's largely just WIFOM (look it up in the wiki if you don't know it already) so keep it to yourself, and don't use it as an argument (generally).
NashiNashiNashiNashiNashiNashi, oh I could on all day... Hi again!!! I do hope you're not planning on replacing out, we had such a good rapport going on in our other game. Such an atrocity it was though. Why do you think I'm weary of quick voting?? I'd rather people use their votes. Just that they do so with some regard to the consequences of them, and that people will be mutilated if they are reckless with them. Why do you think we should use our entire 3 weeks, is it really quality or quantity that matters?
Now, next in line to bungee jump off the Great Wall, is my good friend and associate, Nikanor! Now, dear Nikanor, why are you so set on not teaching people? In fact, I find it's easier to go about your agenda (whether that be a town-agenda or scum-agenda) if you do so by teaching people and explaining why something is so, and someone is that, and somehow is how. You mentioned zach was fence-setting but chose not to vote him? At this stage, why aren't you using your vote yet?
Having reached our destination of Hadjuborsomeny, Hungary, the next to disembark, is are friendly flight attendant, Zombeh-Pugna. Now, Zombeh-Pugna, opted to do a random-vote, that was entirely random.. What do you think the purpose of the RVS (random vote stage) is? Now, do you think your vote helped go about that purpose or was it just for the sake of it? Also, why didn't you role a 9-sided dice?"To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

Oh dear.
David Parker thinks Zombeh needs some teaching.
1) The purpose of RVS isn't "random voting" that is the action that occurs during RVS. What I asked is, WHY do people randomly vote? How does it help town? Why is it a stage used at all in the game?? I think once you figure out or read up on what the actual purpose behind RVS is, you will see why your vote, which was 100% random, is anti-town to a certain extent (although by bringing it up and attacking you for it, it has been a somewhat productive vote ironically).
2) The reason I asked about a 9-sided dice, was to included yourself in your random vote selection. If you were making it entirely random, why do you think not including yourself is necessary? It's random so including yourself shouldn't be an issue, to me that seems something scum are more likely to do (as self-voting draws negative attention), although I don't think it's necessarily a strong scum-tell that you only chose to randomize from other people."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

Gather round kiddes, todays topic: RVS.
RVS, or Random Vote Stage, is the commonly accepted way to start of a Mafia Game. It's purpose is essentially to get discussion started and make people post at the start of day 1. With that said, votes are generally not random, and there is some (joke) reason behind them. Admitting to doing a purely random vote is kind of counter-productive, as we need to get discussion started, even if that kind of discussion, is "VOTE: ZACHRULEZZZZZZZ CUZ HES AN IC AND IF HES SCUM WE WILL LOSE CUZ EVERYONE WILL LISTEN TO HIM", that is a pro-town kind of first post to make. Whereas, saying "hey i rolled an 8-sided dice and it came up with "this name" so I'm going to vote for him is anti-town, because there's no discussion there, its just you playing along and conforming to the way mafia is played here, but not really trying to help find scum.
Didn't explain because you were in a hurry?!?! in future, you should probably say, "will explain later" or simply unvote later when you have time to explain.. i'm still not buying it.
Consider my vote on Tvellalott a "serious" vote now, rather than a vote apart of the RVS.
Also guys, FakeGod is town."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

I love how you analysed everyone based on nothing but the fact that you omitted yourself reminds me of an old proverb...
"When you point the finger at someone, there are three fingers pointing back at you!"
I think you're scum and you're gradually building up a false case against me in an attempt to get a townie lynched in the first round.
A clever play, but I see RIGHT through it, bud.
VOTE DavidParker
It seems people haven't learnt there lesson, if you want to further pressure someone by voting them, don't tell them it's for pressure.. Oh dear."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

who bothers to re-read the thread this early into day 1 when there's no point in doing so? Seems like someone fishing for town-points.
Re-reading the thread is something you do after you get more information (ie: after a lynch/nightkill) doing it now is pointless.
@modI think its time for a prod or two?? don't remember zombeh's last post."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

i was really planning on enjoying this game and role-playing some more as well as putting in some more awesome works of fiction of mine, but you guys have proven to be relatively boring and thus shall not pursue further.
(to whoever asked before, i am a writer already, just a not-so-successful or good a writer)
Anyways,
Hmm, well.fakegod wrote:@people who's not voting: please vote whoever you think is scum, or I'll take your stance as pro no lynch

My reason for voting for you is because you voted for me over 163, which was obviously a joke vote by me. I guess it's a form of "OMGUS" but really, I'll explain my vote on you as going after an "easy target". I presented something, which was really easy to attack and blatantly scummy to the point where it wasn't scummy (yes WIFOM intended) and you took the bait.
I committed my position to a tvellalott vote and stood by it until now.
As for making more questions that statements, maybe you should do a quick iso of me (I just did one of myself because i didn't buy it):
I started discussion by joking about my /conform
I then provided a vote on zombeh for doing a 100% random vote, defeating the purpose of RVS to some extent, or at least how I see it (if a vote is 100% random it serves no point, even if a vote has a joke reason it can at least help get discussion/scum-hunting started)
I then quasi-defended zach when nikanor made some bogus claim of him fence sitting on page 3 or 4 or something.
I then counter'd nashi who thought I was wary of a quick-lynch/throwing around my vote because of our previous game with 2 quicklynches.. I'm not wary of a quick lynch, I think people should be voting for something, and not feel they have to use caution all the time.
In fact, I just reached by ONE post where i asked people questions, and what do you know, it's only one post where I even interrogate people and ask lots of questions..
Not commiting to a position? I stated my position that I find fakegod to be town. I didn't provide reasoning because it's not something easily put into words so I'm not going to try. He is town though.
That's a terrible case the two of you have on me, apart from my "no lynch" vote which was as much a joke to get discussion about it more than anything.
And as an IC, shouldn't you be explaining to these new players why we aren't going to no lynch today? Bear in mind, it is some of their first mafia games probably."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

If you had voted for me with an explanation of why no lynch is bad, I probably wouldn't have voted for you. But all you did was vote for me, and save the reasoning for later, and to me it seems like you were going to try push a bandwagon on me, by not explaining right away. The pro-town thing to do, would have been to explain why no lynch is bad, and voted for me because of that. As it is, 2 posts later, you still haven't stated that a nolynch is a terrible day 1 result. I guess, I'm the one to state it, not going into why right now, but feel free to"To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

Last time I checked, I'm the only one capable of explaining my own votes... Oh, and here zach said we were playing with a group of capable players!"To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

I'm going to be honest and say that I may have some experience, but the "SE" title by my name does not imply I'm more capable than anyone else in this game, nor do I have a set plan as to what I'm doing this game (no set plan ever works, so why have one). I take things as they come.
If you think I'm scummy because of the way I'm acting, you shouldn't use my status as a reason not to vote me; it's not stopping me from voting our IC!"To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

haha, i was trying to force a scum claim (or a quasi-scum claim). He seemed to have not denied it or tried to defend himself (FINALLY) in #203.
195/198/202 all seem like him agreeing to being scum... I don't get it.. I want to believe his town (in fact in trying to force a scum claim, i actually believed he was town....) but his response was pure scummy. I'm convinced zach is scum, that's the only thing stopping me from voting Kalofer atm... (and him finally semi-denying being scum in 203)
I'm not ready for a hammer, and I know how games like this work, where a hammer could happen from town or scum because of the attrocious way kalofer has responded to pressure. So i'm going to keep my vote on sure-scum zach, as opposed to very-likely-scum kalofer."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

And fakegod, i agree that often supporting a wagon but not putting a vote there is scummy, but with the "OMG THAT GUY IS SO SCUMMY" kind of wagon, a hammer could happen VERY QUICKLY, and you should be careful about putting them at L-1. that's why i haven't voted kalofer. (and because zach is definitely scum)"To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

i would like a fair assessment of kalofer's induction into the mafia community before rushing into lynch him. to me it seems possible he is noob-town, who thought he was legitimately dead and ppl were gonna bandwagon him, and wanted to know where he went wrong. with that said, i'm leaning towards newb-scum, but still unsure."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

Being dead-set on lynching one person this early into day 1 is anti-town approach to the game. It doesn't help us find the scum if he does flip town. A recent game of my (nashi was in), a player (Good and Honest) was the sole focus of discussion on day 1 and everyone just wanted him lynched. He flipped town. Day2 arrived, town had no idea who scum were, and had no information from day 1 that was even useful.."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-

I should start a wiki page "David Parker's Magic 8 Ball-Like Scum Tells"
1. Multi-quoting.
Lynch anyone who multi-quotes. Especially if they aren't responding to multiple questions. If it is just multiple counter-remarks, they are definitely scum.
Zach is our first scum."To die will be an awfully big adventure"-
