the problem with shoving is that it's too easy for scum to manipulate places in the lineup. so at an early point in the game when town players won't have reads on everyone, and much of our shove order is semi-random, scum can subtly push suspects low in the lineup. it won't affect the lynch but it will affect stuff like scumpartner-hunting and votecount analysis later in the game, and it will also influence the town -"this guy is pretty low on the list, maybe he is scum/town" when the position is scum-influenced and might be meaningless.Ellibereth wrote:IMO people shouldn't be worried about the whole shoving thing. When we decide on our lynch it won't be hard to get them to the bottom the list...I don't get all the concern.
so i'm not going to shove until I get good reads on a lot of people.hatersgonnahate.gif-

The idea that scum are going to be able to manipulate this in some super secret way is, really, not that huge of a concern - the shoves as a function of time AND looking at why each and every person moves a certain way is going to be huge.
If anything, having to each time scum votes have "reads" on each person is going to make this a lot harder scum-end in the long run.-

If it's genuine it has no bearing on his alignment, because he didn't know his alignment when he made the decision to post about it - therefore that decision cannot be alignment-influenced. Is there something I'm missing here?Ellibereth wrote:Max's whole win condition thingymajig looks genuine. He's town.
Cobalt, I will not tolerate you brushing me off. You WILL answer 120 and 124 in your next post. If you do not, I will relentlessly push for your lynch for the rest of the gamewith no regard for any alternative lynch whatsoever, except in the case of a guilty investigation or other concrete proof of guilt on another player.
Answer or die.8-) You can call me Mad Cool Ballin' King! for short. 8-)-

???? SRS?SRS BUSINESS
Like in a real game I'm voting not based on any positions but based on who I think is scum. I think tactically voting could be considered a scum tell in this period. This type of "voting" can make it easier for scum to manipulate positions, so I suggest that we evaluate where a person ends up in the average after someones shove, not so much where they put that person in line.
I dislike post 132 by SAMP - tunneling is never good for town. Why threaten to do so? I agree that he is looking awfully scummy and I'm probably going to push him down the list somewhat but tunneling is BAD-

What do you mean by tactically voting?Like in a real game I'm voting not based on any positions but based on who I think is scum. I think tactically voting could be considered a scum tell in this period.
my biggest problem is people are, according to what I read from DGB, shove themselves to the front causing a domino effect so people giving everyone a different number from the last time that doesn't match is confusing me.Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.-

Sir mod sir! can we get a prod on Minineko and pwnman? Sir.
Those two haven't acted townish yet, but they haven't really been here either. Lurker lynches aren't bad options, but I wish we had search to see if they were active lurkers
So there's still time to maybe get them replaced with more active people.-

Grimmy- not really posted much, what he's said is that he's trying to keep himself alive.
Cobalt- hasn't been contributing and has been avoiding questions. No shoves.
HackerHuck- is against random shoves, but seems to be doing a few himself. Trying though.
Jahudo- does seem to be taking a good look into everyone. Although he wasn't explaining his reasoning earlier.
SAMP- Lurker and non-shover pressure looks okay for now. Is freaking out at Cobalt though so I left him mid-line.
Minineko- Lurker is anti-town. Lurkers needs to post more.
Farside22- Helpful to the town, all-around scum-hunter
Max- Already making some reads. Explains every shove.
SpyreX- Plenty of mechanics talk, some of it necessary to get everyone on same page and off subject, but not much scumhunting.
Elizibereth- Not explaining shoves, though making sense and scum-hunting
UncertainKitten- Giving a few reads, but not much scum-hunting although not very scummy
Pwnman- Well it's me!ShowMafia RULES!!!!

So, I'll be honest. I'm having a lot of trouble reading anyone this game. I'm not picking up anything to pursue at the moment. So, I apologize if it feels like I'm holding back, I just have nothing yet."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I wasn't posting because it was all discussion of the setup from people who didn't understand it.
Not feelin this post. Sounds like you're saying "answer me or I'll play poorly".Super Awesome Mega Pimp! wrote:

Pimp's important questions are:
"Why did you lol at Jahudo saying you had no content?" (this one's fine)
and
"Why must haters hate?" (because they're haters)

LOL as soon as eli makes a post about the 2 lurkers they show.
I think uncertainkitty may be scum. I never saw her confused or quiet before like this as town.
colbalt not shoving is either a scum gambit hoping to look town or is town just not offering anything. I really would like more then just one liners from him.Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.-

Generally it only happens in larges. But strange enough mechanics screw me up as well. Unfortunately, other examples of this behavior only exist in ongoings. As soon as things show up, I'll be on them.
