You are a member of your town’s Ruling Council. All of you have been extremely worried over the state of your beautiful town; the mafia’s activity has been increasing tenfold lately, and it’s obvious they’re planning

. Talk by the mayor has suggested that some of the mafia’s higher up executives are among you, and he and other well-meaning townspeople have locked you up inside the Town Hall. You doubted the mayor at first, but once a member of your council of 13 died the first night, the idea of a mafia in the Council itself began to pervade even your mind. Some of you gathered up ropes and the ballots you used to vote for various bills, and you’ve all decided to do this civilly and vote for people who you are sure are mafia. After all, it shouldn’t be TOO hard, right?

The Setup: (Blatantly stolen from almightybob's Bloodlust Mafia)

This is a semi-open game. All setups, roles etc were chosen by random.org's random number generator/list randomiser.


The Mafia have one of the following setups:
- 3 Mafia Goons
- 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Mafia Tracker
- 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Mafia Roleblocker


There are 4 potential power roles for the Townsfolk:
A pro-Town Cult Leader
A Vigilante
A Tracker
A Jailkeeper

So the possible Town setups are as follows:
- Cult Leader missing from the power roles, and 5 Vanilla Townies
- Vigilante missing from the power roles, and 5 Vanilla Townies

Voting and Deadlines:

1. Voting must be bolded in the form

Vote: Player

, or else they will not be counted. Unvotes are not required to change your vote, but they are helpful.
2. I don't mind if you use nicknames/abbreviations when you vote someone. But if I have no idea who you're voting for, then the vote won't be counted.
3. Lynches require a majority of votes: (If there are x amount of people remaining, then it requires (x-2)+1 if x is even, or (x/2) rounded down if x is odd.
4. If there's no majority at deadline, there's no lynch. Deadline extensions require all people to agree with them, with a few exceptions.
5. When the hammered vote is cast, all players except for the lynched may talk freely.
6. When you are hammered, you may make a "bah" post. Nothing more.

Prods and Replacements:

1. Prods will be given if you do not post in 72 hours. I do not count weekends in that 72 hours (as a result, deadlines will never fall that close to a weekend).
2. You will be replaced if you either do not respond to a prod, or need to be prodded more than 5 times. You may request for a player to be prodded at any time, but the less you request, the happier your mod is.
3. If you're V/LA, make sure I know. If you are V/LA for more than a week, I'd suggest requesting replacement, but that's not required.

The group of you fill out your ballots, after many erasing and scribbling out. The governor walks in, surrounded by his guards. "I've trust you've filled out the ballots, then?" The governor asks, holding out his hands.

"But we're not done yet!" havingfitz exclaims.

"No matter. We're running on a schedule here. If we don't purge the mafia from the council in time, who knows what will happen? The mafia might invade us from the outside, or, even worse... I might not get reelected!" The governor says, holding out his hands once again.

"But-"

"No buts. Give me the ballots, fitz."

Havingfitz reluctantly hands the ballot box over to the governor, who hurriedly counts them up, whispering something to his guards. "Alright, looks like we're killing Dark..."

"No." The governor declares, glaring at the guard. "At the moment, we may not have this town, and this may be a dire emergency. We might lose our dignity; we might lose our lives. But there is one thing we will not lose."

"Our freedom, sir?" the guard tenatively asks.

"No, you moron. OUR DEMOCRACY!!"

"Sir, that doesn't make-"

"And it is my incredible sense of democracy that keeps me paying you. So, I suggest you shut your mouth." The governor says, smiling. "So, no one dies. Meeting adjourned. Good work, council."

"But where do we go?" Haylen asks.

"You're certainly not leaving. The mafia is among you! What if they-"

"Yes, yes. I know that. But where do we go to sleep? I need my own room, I am a WOMAN you know." Haylen declares, glaring at Darkstrike.

"Right. Haylen, you can have my old office. Everyone else can find their old rooms in the city hall... Now, goodnight. I'll return tomorrow, at the same time, to collect the ballots. Don't be late this time."

The rest of you mumble and complain, fighting for carpeted rooms to settle down and sleep in, and eventually, your fatigue gets the better of you and you drift off to sleep, dreaming of family and friends on the outside. Many of you, with the stench of death approaching, suddenly take a religious turn, and pray vehemently for your gods to protect you throughout the night. But even then, the most zealous of you drift off too...

Night 1 is starting now; it will last until March 9 (Mod's birthday ) at 4:30 PM EST. Night actions are due at that time, but, the earlier the better. ConfidAnon has not picked up his prod, so he will be replaced during the night. Night will not end until I have found a replacement. Sleep tight, everyone! Don't let the mafia bite!

You wake up the next morning, deciding you can’t lay on the cold wooden floor any longer. You walk outside, wiping your eyes, and, for just a moment, forget where you are. Then you see it. The first body. The first victim of the mafia. A scream escapes your mouth as you see the body, torn and bloodied; all you can notice is the victim’s blond hair covering her face, but it too is covered in blond hair. You cannot tear your eyes away and the group of you just stand there, staring. The governor, surrounded by FBI agents, burst through the door, a look of panic on their faces.

“I heard screams.” The governor exclaims, giving you all weird looks. “What’s happened?”

“Move.” An FBI agent suddenly blurts out, pushing the crowd aside with ease to examine the body. He stares at it a moment, then turns around, slowly, facing you. “It was you, wasn’t it?” The cold barrel of a Desert Eagle is jammed into your temple, and the agent‘s free hand wraps itself around your hand. “It was you, wasn’t it?” he repeats.

“No!” You exclaim. “It wasn’t!”

The barrel remains in your temple a moment longer before the FBI agent’s brethren yanks him away. “Calm down, Jake. There’s nothing you can do…”

“Yet.” Jake finishes, still staring at you. “But I’ll be back. And you had better hope that all of this is settled before I return. Because if a single mafia member remains when I return… I’ll kill all of you. Every single one.” He then smiles. “Starting with you.”

The governor clears his throat, glancing at Jake. Jake returns his gaze, his expression not faltering. “I’m so sorry.” The governor whispered, walking over and hugging Jake. “I’m so sorry.” he repeats, again and again. Jake’s veil of professionalism drops in an instant, and he suddenly breaks down in front of all of you, crying.

“I loved her.” Jake whispers. “I loved her more than anything in this world… I never got to tell her that, either. I never got to hold her, I never got to hear her say that she loved me to. And the bastards that took her away from me are still here, watching, laughing at me. I have to avenge her, Nacho. I have to.”

“It’s understood.” The governor declared, breaking the hug. “But at the moment, we have to work on the outside; the infrastructure of the city has completely disintegrated. We need you out there. The True Council will deal their vigilante justice on the invaders, believe me. There is a reason we all go to eight thousand years of law school, after all.” The governor said, smiling weakly. He then turned to you. “Sorry about that… Jake is passionate, but he’s the best in his line of work. If you’re innocent, then he’s the best chance you have right now. If not… Well, you had better hope that you’re dead before he comes again, and we’ll leave it at that.

You watch the governor and the agents leave, and immediately the accusations begin. “Dark,” one man mutters. “It’s him, I know it!”

The rest suddenly agree, as if they had known their whole life. “Yes, it must be! He’s the reason why Haylen died yesterday; he must die!” You find yourself agreeing as well; it all made perfect sense.

The air suddenly becomes charged with electricity; you take up a chant of “Lynch the scum! Lynch the scum!” as you crowd around him, knocking him to the ground with kicks and punches. Producing an extra belt you found in one of the offices, you wrap it around Dark’s head and tighten it as much as you possibly can, grinning malevolently as the homemade noose already begins to strangle him. The mob helps you drag him onto a table, and tie the belt to the ceiling beams. Another man waits at the bottom, ready to kick the table out from underneath him. You loosen the belt a little, giving Dark just enough room to talk. “So, scum. What do you have to say for yourself? Why did you kill Haylen?”

Dark smiles. “God save all of you. You are a twisted and tainted group of individuals… I became a part of this council to save this city; I see now how futile my effort was. I see now how hopeless the mayor’s cause has been, and I refuse to live in this microcosm of society only to remind it how truly doomed the human race is. Good luck finding the guilty without me… you’ll need it.” Dark kicks the table out from underneath himself, and the homemade noose does its job efficiently although you desperately try to put things back to the way things were before. You can hear Dark’s neck cracking in the belt, you can hear his choking sounds as his body tries to save itself, you can hear your own conscience damning you for killing an innocent man.

Death oppresses your energetic atmosphere, and you all settle into staring as the still-swinging corpse, grossly fascinated with Death and its ways yet again. Some of you begin to realize that the swinging corpse you see could be you, and you vow to be more careful. But vows are easily broken, and you’re sure that the mafia threat is already too great to defeat.

Interrupting your thoughts, the governor strolls through the door, his posse of FBI agents surrounding him. You immediately notice Jake isn’t among them. The governor looks at the corpse hanging from the ceiling. “Seems… we’ve reached an agreement already?” he asks, nervousness creeping into his voice.

“He’s with us.” you announce. The rest stay quiet.

The governor nods, understanding. He’s solemn and thoughtful. “The mafia has been making its advancements on the outside as well. And I know you’re losing hope because this situation is stressful beyond belief; no man deserves to be experiencing this. But… you have to continue to fight. For the good of the generations coming after us, for the good of yourself… I could give a damn for why you fight, as long as you are with us. Just find a reason to fight, and fight. Fight the mafia with all you’ve got… We’ll do our job on the outside as long as you don’t give up in here, okay? Get some sleep tonight, it’ll help you think better tomorrow, I promise..."

Last night, you slept exceptionally well. You wake up today with a new hope; you even hum to yourself as you heat up your morning coffee. Of course, your joy doesn't last long. The reality of your situation comes crashing down over your head as soon as you notice the Mafia's latest victim, drowned in a pool of dried blood on the kitchen floor. Strangely, after the previous day's ordeal, you don't feel as terrified as before; death has become normalized to you, and you call out your companions to gather round to identify the body. But that doesn't mean you don't feel emotion; desire to see even one of those scumbags's corpses sway from the ceiling like Dark's did swells up inside of you, and you decide to watch their reactions closely as they try to identify the body. You call your companions to surround you.

The mob closed in on him like the hungry jaws of a shark, and his neck quickly made its acquaintance with the rope.

"Wait!" A voice rang out, dripping with authority. The governor stood behind the mob, holding his hand up. "No, no! Don't lynch him! Sandman is my most trusted advisor..."

"Bah." Jake glared at the governor with cold eyes, drawing out his gun and shooting Sandman in the face. The unlucky man screamed in pain and grabbed his face as his blood slowly oozed out. "He's one of them..."

The governor blinked. "What? Sandman... you betrayed me?"

Sandman smiled. "Damn right I did. Best know that I'm proud of it, too... I could never stand you and your insufferable ranting, and all of the political mumbo jumbo you spout at me... I've been in the Mafia of this town my entire life. They are my true brothers... The Godfather is my true father figure, not you. I would say I'm sorry for lying to you, but I'm pretty close to death, and, well, God doesn't look to kindly at liars. Goodbye, Nacho. Enjoy watching the city crumbles as these idiots kill themselves!"

Netopalis shivered. It was cold and raining, and he half-wondered why he was even bothering... But he had to get an ally before the Mafia took over. So he rehersed his recruitment speech over in his mind, to pass the time. Finally, the target walked by him. "Hello..." he began, but the target cast him an icy glare. Netopalis shuddered, but this time, it wasn't from the cold.

Julienvonwolfe was too scared to sleep. The images of the faces of the innocent the mob had killed ran through his mind; he saw his own face beside theirs, and shuddered at what the mob would do to him. He closed his eyes, trying to sleep. A knife was at his throat, as if his murderer had been waiting for him. The cold steel pressed into his neck, and the blood bubbled out over the blade. As his life ebbed from him, he heard the cruel laughter of a serial killer.

MrSuave took out his medical instruments, working as quietly as possible. Now that everyone knew he was a doctor, he had to be more careful... His worst fear quickly became a reality as two mafia members silently slipped through the lab. "Don't scream." One commanded, laughing to himself.

Havingfitz sat in the corner alone, smiling, and coated entirely in fresh blood. He knew he would die soon, but he didn't care. All he needed was one last taste of blood...

Almightybob appeared in the doorway, smiling as well. "I respect your bloodlust..." he began. "But respect can't stop these hands from killing."

"Likewise." havingfitz replied, drawing his hunting knife. He swung at almightybob, leaving a huge gash across his chest that began bleeding immediately. Almightybob responded with a kick in the gut and a harsh pistolwhip to the back of the head, but it did nothing, save for increase havingfitz's frenzy. He wrestled the gun from almightybob's hands and wrapped his hands around his throat, choking the life out of him.

Suddenly, havingfitz stopped and his eyes rolled into the back of his head, and he slumped onto the ground. LlamaFluff withdrew his knife from the back of havingfitz's head, and extended a hand to help almightybob up from the floor. "Our mission has been accomplished..."

The next morning, the governor and Jake came bursting into the town hall. They broke in only to see almightybob, LlamaFluff, and Concerned standing together with huge grins on their faces. "We've got them." Concerned announced. "Including the bastard that killed Haylen." he quickly added.

Jake's grim expression didn't change. "I know the truth." he announced. "The FBI's found it out... I'll have to kill you all." he continued, raising his pistol. "Revenge will be sweet..."

The governor took out a pistol of his own, dispatching of Jake with a bullet to the back of the head. He put it away as the body slumped to the ground. "So it will." he declared, extending his hand for the Mafia Members to shake.

Yupyup, I thought the scum did a really good job... The team of almightybob, Concerned, and LlamaFluff was dynamically amazing. They can post their scumchat if they want.

As a side note, sorry about the modding. It was a bit erratic at times, and votecounts weren't given that often during those final hours . It was a fun game to read, though, and thanks almightybob for the wonderful setup!
