Upsilon had a massive smile on his face, admittedly every other letter there ever was has actually been made obsolete and redundant, but does he mind? No of course not, he's won. He killed off every single person, not single handedly but with the help of some friends.

Every night you can make letter obsolete until you are the only people remaining or you can cause a type one error (Explanation) in effect acting as a tailor for the evening. You (however) cannot do both.

There is a twist however, Omega cannot die until you have, by no ways currently known though I wouldn't dare put it past them to invent a new and interesting way

Omega

You are Omega! The last letter of the greek alphabet and therefore you wish to be the last to die. It seems only fair right? So you and Alpha have every intention of destroying all of space and time and because of that you will do... seriously.

Each evening you will make a letter obsolete casting it out of space and time or you can measure the resistance of opposing forces (in effect acting as a census taker - one shot ability). You cannot kill and use your power.

There is a twist however, you cannot die until Alpha has past its sell by date. After all he's the beginning you might as well be the end. Though the evil town may invent something

Little Use Mafia:

Omicron

Along with Upsilon and Iota you feel that you have been left out in the cold by these over-used letters. You are sick to death hearing about Alpha and Omega, Phi and Pi yet never anything about you three. Because of which you are fighting against the town to destroy them completely.

Each night you may cast one letter into the oblivion known as being obsolete or you (personally) may be able to send a message of up to 130 words to an increasing number of players.

You are in effect a recruiting one way messenger. You may not perform the kill and message players on the same evening.

You win if you control all of the town or nothing could prevent the same

Upsilon

Along with Omicron and Iota you feel that you have been left out in the cold by these over-used letters. You are sick to death hearing about Alpha and Omega, Phi and Pi yet never anything about you three. Because of which you are fighting against the town to destroy them completely.

Each night you may cast one letter into the oblivion known as being obsolete or you (personally) can make a power role a "quark" for the rest of the game, you may only use this ability once regardless of the success you have. You may not perform the team kill and make someone a "quark" on the same night.

You win if you control all of the town or nothing could prevent the same

Iota

Along with Omicron and Upsilon you feel that you have been left out in the cold by these over-used letters. You are sick to death hearing about Alpha and Omega, Phi and Pi yet never anything about you three. Because of which you are fighting against the town to destroy them completely.

Each night you may cast one letter into the oblivion known as being obsolete or as an imaginary unit you can kidnap a player once. They will return to the game the following evening but they will not be there for the next day and instead in an imaginary world you create for them. They cannot be targeted for that evening nor the evening after and they cannot use their ability for the same period. To maintain the spell on the player you must also leave the game with them.

You cannot do both on one evening.

You win if you control all of the town or nothing could prevent the same

NOTE: The kidnapped player from that moment forward suffers from Stockholm Syndrome, and they form a lover group. If either dies so does the other.

Obsolete SK:

Phi

You are an artistic prodigy, you are the perfect way of expressing art, though in reality you are not as you seem, each evening you kill and take on the form of you predecessor. With your incredible capabilities of making the perfect piece of art you can kill and move on to the next stage of your grand plan. Though there are downsides if you shift into someone who is killed by a third party that night you will die. If otherwise targeted in your old body you will survive

If you morph into scum you will acquire their group ability.

To the rest of the town it will appear as your old body died e.g. Night 1 Phi will die though technically even though you haven't died.)

You win if you are the last remaining letter or if nothing can prevent the same.

TOWN SIDES:

Sigma

You are sigma, the letter for calculating the sum of things but in this case you cannot use that. And also the letter for standard deviation, with your knowledge of what deviates you can find if a player is deviating to a bad side of the game. You will receive one of three numbers to determine their standard deviation:

1 - Denotes they have little movement and are fairly constant. (i.e. Town)
2 - You see movement in the data (i.e. Scum)

You win when all anti-town factions are obsolete.

Epsilon

You are Epsilon, a little known but rather useful letter. You can effect the Axial_Tilt, you cause a double day when you die. I.e. the opposite effect of a beloved princess.

This is a passive ability.

Lambda

You are Lambda, you can calculate the failure rate of items and with a bit of "creative calculation" you can cause letters to fail their actions. You are in effect a roleblocker, each evening you may roleblock one player to cause their ability to fail. If their ability is one shot it will be considered used.

You win when all anti-town factions are obsolete

Gamma

You are Gamma, you are almost unstoppable you cannot be killed the first time around instead only weakened. However when you are weakened you can only vote to hammer. The second time someone tries to take your life you die. Poor soul.

This is a passive ability.

Zeta

You are Zeta, you measure friction... which means you can also see when there is no friction between people. You are a recruiting mason and each evening you can recruit one player to your group if they are pro-town you will be successful, if they are anti-town you will die.

You may not discuss with your group your decision to recruit specific players.

Delta

You are delta, a rather lonely letter, but a powerful one, you measure heat in chemical reactions. You therefore understand how to reverse a reaction to your favour. You will be able to incite hatred against one player on your lynch when you are dying and they will die with you.

You must send this choice during the day not during twilight.

Eta

You are Eta, you understand fully the way that refraction works and you can use this to your advantage, you can slow things by such an extent you can see exactly what people are doing and then you can mimic them and perform that action on another person.

You cannot perform this action on some people as they are (un)naturally fast.

You are Xi. You are used to represent random variables, as of such you are uncertain what action you will perform each evening. You may if you so wish select a player which will have one of the following applied to them:

You are Psi, water potential. Unfortunately there is no water in this world so you have absolutely no power in being able to determine anything more than what you can with a vote.

Omicron's PM did mention the Alpha and Omega Pairing.
Alpha had been screwed over by the Omega being mod-killed. I'm sure you'll agree that I did the right thing. Despite the role being unkillable I didn't want the game to turn into Mod-Wifom. (I'd have done the same for Gamma)

If Omega didn't get modkilled this game would have turned out differently. That role I think was from a CentralScrutinizer game I was going to be playing in where the Godfather could only die after his minions. I'll probably use the role again to ensure there is some sort of parity.

A few vanilla townies had the "This may change" clause. I added this to keep mod-wifom in there. I've always wanted roles that are "inherited" and giving people the idea that something might change allows people something to claim from there role PM. Tau and Kappa for example would be able to semi-confirm each other.

Incidentally, I think that's extremely unfair to have different-sized scumgroups without giving the smaller one some indication that the other one is larger. This is another excellent example of why I tend to stay away from Max's games. Alpha/Omega got completely screwed by the setup here

Alpha was screwed over by Omega, not by the set-up. And I believe Alpha said earlier that he believed that it was a 3/2/1 balance. Ask manho though, he'll be able to clear it up. (EDIT: Fastposted)

Iota's ability I felt was countered by him being lovers with his victim. None of the standard scum used there abilities though.

I don't think the set-up was inherently bad in any way, it was the unfortunate modkilling which skewed the game.
