Vote Ellibereth
for confirming twice.

I suggest we form a massive bandwagon on Elli for this horrendous crime before the game starts.

Also, strategy-wise, we should probably lynch almost as frequently as we're allowed to avoid too many scum NKs. Therefore, I expect EVERYONE who stops by the thread to drop a vote on someone at some point. Delaying a lynch too long in this game is VERY scummy.

Here are my underlying assumptions:
  1. Scum NKs work on a timer.
  2. Scum will NK as often as possible.
  3. The game was balanced with this in mind.
Let's say for sake of argument that scum can NK once every 8 days. By lynching immediately every 7 days, scum get 7 NKs for every 8 lynches we get. Basically, we'd be one kill ahead of scum the entire game. Now let's say we lynch once every 9 days. Scum get 9 NKs for every 8 lynches we can make. Basically, we'd be one kill behind scum all game.

It's probably not a huge deal to delay several hours or a day or so, but any more than that can be very dangerous if scum can kill often enough.

@Everyone
I was completely serious when I said we should start a wagon before the game starts. This game is based largely on timing and not doing something now puts us behind schedule.

Vote: CSL

Why do you find it so important to point out these are pregame votes and HoS's, rather than real ones. At the end of pregame, they are real votes. HoS's are just as real now as they ever will be.

Allow me to word this in a way that gets more to my point: perhaps you just don't want to look bad by throwing around "real" votes and HoS's before the game starts, let alone seemingly OMGUS votes and HoS's?

If you think this is so terrible, then vote me for it. Unless of course you have a better lynch you'd like to suggest.

POLICY LYNCH MALPASCP

No, I'm not serious.

Zoraster basically gave us an extra week to come to a lynch decision and the time was mostly wasted. I wasn't seriously advocating a policy lynch on someone before the game started. That was a wagon to get something to happen. Elli was the only other one on the CSL wagon and no matter how ridiculously I acted, I couldn't even get CSL to vote for me.

You would think SOMEONE would start a counter-wagon on me, but noooo, everyone wanted to wait.

Why do people like me "have to be lynched" in a game like this? My entire purpose with my early game stupidity was to get discussion going and wagons formed, even if one of the wagons happened to be on me. Lurking is what could kill a game like this (for town, at least).

Also, what was with the whole "I'm not asking for a claim" thing? Since when is it a good move to hammer without a claim?

Vote: Snow_Bunny

Snow_Bunny has posted close to no content and is posting the bare minimum to avoid a prod.

She seems to be actively avoiding everything except the Elli-CSL situation, without even having mentioned me in the process. I can see SB avoiding me if she were scum based on interactions we've had (no, don't ask about what I mean).

Notice SB's posts since the game started. She voted Elli for pursuing a policy lynch (basically renewing her pre-game vote), and made 3 one-line posts. Two of those posts were just her asking Elli the same question. The other was her saying that Vaya always doesn't participate in day 1.

Basically, I get the feeling SB is just trying to float along and avoid a prod. I don't like it.

I suppose that's true, but you missed the point of my question. Why is self-voting scummy?

The point of my "gambit" was to get people discussing and to get a wagon started, even if that wagon had to be me. It worked.

It made me more suspicious of Snow_Bunny than I otherwise would have been. In retrospect, that was a stupid decision on my part.

I want to take another look at Annachie actually. Other than that, I want you to explain what's scummy about self-voting before I even think about claiming.

Yes, you can argue that not posting during the pregame is scummy (I'll remain unconvinced it's not among the weakest of scumtells, but that's a different story). You cannot argue that Vaya's posted little and what she's posted was scummy if all she posted was "/confirm". That's the most null thing a player could possibly post. You didn't say his lack of posting was scummy; you said the actual provided content is scummy. Misrep and the backpedal-wimpiness + sudden vote on attacker is majorly scummy.
LOL @ that. What do you think I meant when I said Vaya's posts were scummy? Even I wouldn't be stupid enough to think "/confirm" is scummy, town or scum. Or do you think I expected no one to notice? Either way, your reaction to my vote is almost as ridiculous as my vote was in the first place.

Well, since neither or my neighbors seems to care what I claim, I'm neighbors with Annachie and Snow_Bunny.

I seriously think one of them is scum and I've been flip-flopping over which one. I'm currently leaning Annachie. As a matter of fact,
Vote: Annachie
.

As far as what was said, there's been nothing particularly important. One thing that concerns me though is that I said I wanted a wagon on CSL, not a lynch, which Annachie has since ignored.

Mostly the discussion has consisted of:
  1. Me describing what I'm trying to do
  2. Annachie responding and giving his take
  3. Snow_Bunny not posting
Also, yay me for wording my post in such a way that you didn't realize there were 3 neighbors. :D

Btw, Plum's (I believe) was the most recent post on this retcon of yours. I've also posted your own posts calling for the policy lynch after your previous claim of not wanting one.
Would you mind explaining to me where this fits in with my post in the QT where I said I just wanted a wagon and not a lynch? Be sure to include the parts where I said I was trying to have competing wagons on me and CSL to get the game going. (Now would be a good time for Snow_Bunny to come here and back me up that I actually said all this.)
Annachie wrote: I also note that your in QT post about becoming serious and your in thread post about becomming serious, both of which didn't sound right btw, were on different days.

It was a serious vote in the sense of not being a random vote. It was also partially to start discussion over me voting
again
and, better yet, voting for the person I was already voting for. My post in the QT referred to being completely serious.
Annachie wrote:1. Change in play style, scum tell.

5. Not claiming, despite being at L-1 twice, anti-town.
6. Managing to vote for both your neighbours, and out them. That can't be good for the town.
(Numbered for clarity)
1. How is that scummy, especially considering I wasn't serious early on?
2. I disagree that I did that.
3. You didn't seem to have a problem with it at the time. In fact, not until I voted you.
4. I don't think it was in the particular game, but I suppose that's arguable.
5. Meh, I guess. I wanted my attackers to at least explain why some of what I did was scummy first.
6. Well I blame you guys for playing scummy enough to earn my vote for the first part. As for outing both of you, you said you didn't care what I did in terms of outing you guys. Besides, it's only bad if we're all town. If I'm scum, only town gained information from my claim.

Scum Reads

Annachie
(or reasons already given)
bigmc109
(Mostly gut and meta-based reasons (I correctly called him as scum day 1 the one time I played with him, despite being initially able to point out specific posts as to why I thought he was scum. I can't really point to anything tangible as to why I think so here either.))
TonyMontana
(?) (This spot is basically a toss-up. I put him here because I find him scummier than most other players at this point who have posted enough for me to have any sort of read, not because I really think he's scum.)

@SB
I'm plain VT-neighbor. What do you think of Annachie ignoring the fact that I said I wanted a wagon, not a lynch? Also, you didn't say what from the QT you found scummy.

The game design was fun, but we had too many lurkers. This game would be interesting to play with only players who could commit to at least a certain activity level. Meh, whatever.

It was fun while I was still alive. I'd sign up if again if a similar game were to be run.

I'm fine with the Neighbor QT being posted if Fishy and Annachie are.
