I think people started unvoting after I posted that he doesn't look at all like scum and that the latecomers look like scum, then a couple others voiced agreement.

The scum probably got scared to be caught on that wagon and no longer needed it as a wagon to protect EB.

I had another post that didn't make it through, and in general I'm having problems connecting to the forums for the past couple days now.

Anyone claiming to vote to avoid a no-lynch is just making excuses. Unless we vote for no lynch, it's not going to happen.

Despite AlmasterGM posting that he clearly understands this, he tried twisting my post into an advocation of no lynch instead of anyone below my top 2.

I am willing to vote either Almaster or EB.

I am mostly indifferent to others with the exception that I think some players are more likely to be town. However, I don't think anyone is so clearly town that I would be willing to change my vote to prevent that person from being lynched; so the exception makes no difference on my voting behavior.

If we were in a game where a strict majority was required for a successful lynch, things would be different, but as it is, I'm not going to be an extra body that scum can hide their votes behind. Which, incidentally, if Hoopla, Vaya, or Dramonic are town, is exactly what they are allowing by jumping on someone else's wagon for someone else's reasoning.

So basically, Kast, you're absolving yourself of all responsibility for a townie lynch despite the fact that your vote - or even just scumhunting - could sway the result away from it?

Classic scum shield, although most are more subtle about it.

If you don't know if either of the leading wagons are scum, I suggest you do some investigating. If you think both are town, I suggest you say why.

Lynches require a majority of votes.

At a deadline, the player who reached the most votes first will be lynched.

These look a bit contradictory but I assume that does mean that one only needs the most votes rather than a clear majority.

Not needing a clear majority better serves scum than town. It allows scum to spread themselves out off townie wagons and even avoid responsibility for being on townie wagons. I would very much prefer a majority consensus was reached. I will view it as particularly scummy if someone is lynched having been tied in first place, simply due to having received their most recent vote first.

Yes, you need a majority to lynch, but if deadline hits, whoever reached the most number of votes first gets lynched.

You fail. I've identified scum and stopped town from mislynching already. Town won't listen and lynch the scum. Not much I can do about that.

Strongly disagree that jumping on random wagons with the express purpose of padding their numbers is productive or pro-town at all.

I'm not really sure, at this point I'd still like to vote for ortolan or Gorrad, but those votes wouldn't help that much. I don't see the point for either Sajin or Synx, but dramonic I can see a bit of reason why he'd be scum.

If he thinks you are scum, then he should say so and vote accordingly (which he is doing). Even if nobody else voted you, he has established vote history and shown his preference.

Ortolan, what I'm seeing is that people unvoted him based solely on a vanilla claim. I find him no less scummy than I did when I voted for him. Either 1) He's town and scum unvoted him to try and lynch a power role instead 2) He's scum and his buddies are trying to shift as much attention from him as possible, I believe by throwing Sajin under the bus or 3) Town's just ADD. Personally, I think 2's the most likely.

If number 2 is true, why would they vote and then unvote? Doesn't that draw more attention than just not voting at all in the first place?

1) Dramonic-scum was strung up to L-1.
2) His buddies that may have been bussing him by being on the wagon as well as his buddies not on the wagon attempted to stop him from being lynched by shifting attention over to other wagons.

Simple logic, neh?

A bit off topic, but I think requiring strict majorities for a lynch hurts town much more than no strict majority required. In our other games together, the strict majority requirement allowed mafia to much more easily manipulate townies to join dumb wagons and engage in poor voting behavior that could later be used against those townies.

Kast: you can't deny that you have power to influence the lynch and by remaining voting someone who's not viable you are not contributing or taking a stand. It looks to me like Sajin has 4 votes and Synx and dramonic both have three. Thus you can (with the addition of another player) decide who of those three you'd prefer to lynch.
