FINAL Vote Count:
(of day 2)
5:
mikeburnfire
(MacavityLock, curiouskarmadog, dahill1, Citizen karne, DizzyIzzyB13)
2: Dizzyizzyb13
(TSQ, MBF)
1: scotmany
(Raging Rabbit)
Not Voting:
scotmany12

slight mod error - after the daykill, there were 5 votes on MBF and 9 players alive, so he should have died then. I don't think it had a massive effect on the game, but if you want to complain feel free to PM me. At any rate, this means that the above is the day end vote count.

Also, the night scene was corrected slightly - "HERE" was replaced with "HEAR"

As the confusion caused by the unexpected death of Gorrad begins to fade, it is replaced by a strange sense of relieved anger. Relief, on the one hand, that first of the perpetrators, the do-badders, the evil swinelike scumbag dastardly cowardly wretches who had come into this town,
our
town, and turned us all into, well, frogs was dead and anger, on the other, that there were still more to be found.

When frogs get angry, generally, there's a bit of hopping about, maybe some swimming in the stream. Perhaps they catch a fly or two. An angry frog is almost indistinguishable from a peaceful frogs - frogs just don't
do
emotions very well. Their faces aren't suited to it. It's the smile that does it - frogs are always smiling, with that self-satisfied, smug little grin on their faces - that makes it nigh impossible to truly express anger ina any meaningful way.

The fact that you're small and powerless - predator and not prey - does not hep either.

But these are not real frogs. These are human minds in the bodies of frogs - altered minds, to be sure, as any human finding themselves inexplicably transformed into a small hopping amphibian is liable to just go completely mad, right there and then - but still carrying in them some element of the things that made them human, some capacity of thought far beyond what anyone would expect from a frog. And so that anger, that very human anger, needed an outlet. A victim. A scapegoat.

Up in the heavens, the great God of Frog peered down at his newest followers with bemused puzzlement on his face. These were like no frogs he had ever seen, and quite frankly, something would have to be done. Nevertheless, he could see they were unhappy, and somewhere in his great froggy mind he realized they needed help.

And so, quickly, he broadcast down from the heavens his latest pronouncement on the motivations of the dead, before calling down the night to give him some time to discuss his dilemma with a friend of his.

"HEAR THE VOICE OF FROG. COMMON TOAD WAS TOWN."

As the days pass, and the inhabitants of the swamp become both more accustomed to their new forms, inevitably there are those who begin to feel comfortable, who begin tot hink that being a frog, well, it's not so bad. I mean, as long as you avoid the ducks, the pelicans, and the whatever the hell that thing was that ate Gorrad, the alligators, the snakes, the evil bastards who are killing you all, then it's a pretty stress free life. The food may be different, but frankly, you could get used to eating flies all your life.

Besides, the pelican is dead now. He died last night. Wait...

That pelican was one of our own, wasn't he? Wasn't he the one who called himself, uh... TheStatusQuo?

"HEAR THE VOICE OF FROG. HE WAS TOWN."

Anyone know what a Gaoler is?
Games are slowing. No one wants to hammer for fear of a mislynch. MS needs a savior. They look for Rosso to save them, but alas! he is nowhere to be found. So one man will step up and take his mantle. Fear not MS, the hammer cometh!

Ah, thanks.

I'm going to start off with a hard look at DizzyIzzy.

Ditto

Izzy did push some for Gorrad yesterday but he was a traitor so it's possible that Izzy thought he was an easy lynch

Due to exams, I haven't had a chance to catch up on this. The other two people I had an inkling of suspicion for yesterday were Izzy and Karne, but I definitely need to re-read before being willing to put a vote down.
Yes, my fake claim is Innocent Aligned with the Town win condition as per the mod's first post.

You seriously think traitor-Gorrad would tunnel on a buddy this hard to send some sort of signal? I'll take a long hard look at Gorrad anyways, but find this highly unlikely.

Scot's town too unless they hand out daykills to scum these days, so my top two suspects based entirely on gut are CKD and dahill at the moment. Will refrain from voting 'till I find the time to give this game some sort of a reread.

If you think about from a traitors POV, it's a bold move but has a large benefit
Gorrad pushes hard for a mafia lynch all game and when it finally goes through he gets town points
That night scum try to kill off Gorrad and end up recruiting him

I'm not saying this is the most likely scenario but it is plausible
The only reason I'm still focused on Izzy was the scummy behvior D1 which I can't seem to shake

What makes you think the scum can recruit Gorrad dahill? Not every traitor is able to be recruited.

Question: How likely is it we're in LYLO right now? I've never played a game with a traitor in it, so I'm not exactly sure quite how they're usually used. Would they be used with a conventional 3 man scum team with no power roles against a town with a few (since we have masons/neighbours and a gaoler, minimum)? If so, is that likely?

I've always assumed that was the norm if a traitor was in the game that they are able to be recruited by the mafia

The Traitor is the most common role with a pro-Mafia alignment that is not actually in the Mafia family. There are several variations of this role.

Most commonly the Traitor knows who is in the Mafia, but the Mafia do not know who the Traitor is. The Traitor works, through his or her vote, to keep the Mafia from getting lynched.

Another variation is the Mafia Spy (a.k.a. Devil). This version does not know who is in the Mafia, but can investigate once each night to look for Cops or other power roles, that he can then try to expose during the day.

In a third variation, sometimes used in conjunction with one of the others, the Mafia can choose at any time in the game to recruit their Traitor. Before this time, the Traitor appears innocent to Cops, and/or has investigative abilities. Once recruited, the Traitor becomes a normal Mafia Goon.
Quoth the Wiki: "Nevermore".

By the sound of it, the recruitment part isn't common. Thus, one would assume there'd be no benefit for Gorrad to tunnel hard on Mafia if he needs to win with Mafia who don't know who he is.

being prodded?..didnt know the game had started...interesting.

I still dont see Izzy as scum. The duck claim (before we knew anything about ducks) is pretty hard to swallow...for many different reasons. Also, if Gorrad knew who his mafia buddies were I dont see any reason for him to push for Izzyscum

I feel good about scot, though Raging's point about giving scum day kill(s) seems like a quick reason not to address scot. you have never seen a game that a scum variant had a day kill?

that leaves dahill, ML, and raging...going to give them a look over tomorrow....though both ML's and dahill's push for the Izzy wagon out of the gate...looks thought out.

I have only been in a game once (maybe twice) where there was a traitor...how do you tell if the traitor has been recruited or not? Also going to reread gorrad.

Never ever, in all the 20+ theme games I've played in/read through. I guess it's possible, but entirely unlikely.

This is the BSG game I was in. Focus on the Cavil role: Scum with daykill that was made all the more worse by the fact that a sleeper townie actually carried it out.

This is not to say that I suspect scot any more or less due to the daykill right now, just showing that a scum daykill is possible and has been done before.

My last entrance exams were today, so I'll be trying to catch up over the next couple days.

As I'm re-reading, the thing that sticks out to me most is CK's vote on MBF on day 2. He made such a big deal about using FoSes instead of votes that this deviation seems very odd. It looked to me like he wanted on that wagon to solidify that MBF would be that day's lynch.

RR also moves up on my scumlist. His targeting lurkers during the early part of this game was massively hypocritical. Also, Gorrad's iso 31 includes what looks to me like a classic scumbuddy FoS.

I don't want to vote just yet, because I do think there's a chance we're in LYLO.
