I was wondering if there was any interest in a Th Craft mafia, based on the move from the early 90's.

I don't think that would work.

1. It's not mafia if there's no mafia
2. How would the people who aren't part of a group win?
3. I just don't get how this would work.

If there's no night kills, the town can decide to Live Happily Ever After on Day 1, right? Spork, I'm not saying it wouldn't be interesting, but it's probably not mafia. Try it out in the Mish Mash forum and see if you get any nibbles? I might be willing to try it out as an experiment, as long as the group was relatively small (10 or less).

I want to do that theme (the craft) but don't know whether to do a mini or 20 player game b/c either would work.

Yes - I was talking about The Craft...I think you'll
probably
have to go with a smaller game for that.

Gattaca?

Menlo Park?

People vs. Chickens vs. Snakes?

An RPGesque Mafia?

I am of course a total n00b and so wholly unqualified to run anything, but if anyone were to run pirate vs ninja mafia, that would be the greatest thing ever.

pirate mafia in theme park and pirate mini
I'm not sure about a ninja mafia game. There may be one buried somewhere.

Would anyone play European History (12th to 20th Century) Mafia. The characters would be drawn from prominent people in that time frame. They would be assigned a role according to their real life impact on the development of history in Europe. It would contain about 20 players.

Yeah, but pirates alone... eh. Ninjas alone... eh.

Pirates facing off against their immortal enemies, ninjas, -that- is the key.

Oh, yeah, and I guess some townies in the crossfire, or something. :P

basically of werewolves/mafia game and rename the roles.

I'd be interested in playing. I think inHimshallibe is running a French Revolution Mafia along those same lines, too.

Sorceror Mafia:

There are two equal sides, but they have no one knows who's on which side. The goal is to try and kick off the other side completely.

Each night, a person can pick one school of spell (transformation, restoration, destruction, things like that). There are different spells for each school, and they get a random one (i.e. Transformation: Transform into a dragon and kill one person). These would be the night powers.

Then by day, lynching occurs normally.

Thoughts?

So you don't know who's on your side? That might be alright (avoids the Gay Mafia flaw), otherwise I'd say no.

Do you get to choose whether to act based on your spell received? I can see a reluctance to use your spell if you don't if you're going to get Transformation: Eat Your Fellow Player or Transformation: Give Your Fellow Player Stoneskin.

If you do tell them what the spell for the night is and then have them choose to use it or not, you've just increased your number of night PMs threefold at least, I'd think... which might be alright in a mini.

That's true. I think they should get a choice...I better start cleaning out my inbox ;)

I'm thinking maybe I could modify it to run as a Mish-Mash sort of thing; that way I wouldn't have to wait to go through the mini theme list again. I'd probably remove the lynching, and it would be something similar to sissy fight.
