I was once told that in the game of mafia, the second vote is really not what one should be looking at...the third however is bandwagonning and the third voter for Town is usually Scum. Because of this:

I was once told that someone who doesn't actually answer someone's suspicions (even if they are only page 2 suspicions), calls himself Town, and then OMGUS-votes based on rather wide meta-style generalizations is pretty scummy himself.

Touche my friend! I wasn't trying to follow someone else's coattails here...I was looking for reasoning for votes early on in the game. I always want reasoning on votes that are past the random vote stage...that's just the way that I play. SC and I were just here around the same time and thinking along the same lines.

As to your question...hmmmm, if all 4 players didn't say a "single" Scummy thing then I'd assume there were 4 Scum. In my very limited experience, the people that usually let little slips are Town as Town is less careful. Scum tend to be very careful with their words and the slips don't often happen. Which is why you will rarely see a Scum get lynched in Day 1...usually for a little slip.

I don't consider my vote was immediately after Macivity's vote....we will have to disagree on that one. I did put my reasoning for the vote in the post. What you said previously was that I immediately OMGUS voted for you. So, there are two parts here...the immediate part and the OMGUS. I don't feel that I did OMGUS vote for you, I explained my reasoning when I posted the vote. It was also not immediate as there were several other posts between...one of which was by me so it was not even my first post after I got back...so not immediate either way. I have never said that an OMGUS vote has to be immediately after to be OMGUS....you put those words in my mouth....

Thank you for the appology Macivity. You may not like my reasons for voting you and that is fine. I don't really agree with your reasons for voting me either and that is a part of the game. I have defended against them and have no intention of going over my reasoning again and to top this whole discussion off....I did unvote you. As I have said before though, you are going after me pretty hard for a simple vote here. I'm not sure what you are looking for with going after me but, question away...I don't have a lot to hide.

I'm not sure what to make of SC and his defence of me...it is very odd. I am a newer player to this game and initially I took it as him taking me under his wing but, it is odd. (I do appreciate it if you are just taking me under your wing...but would hate it if it ended up being a Scummy wing...hehehe!)

Hi all! Sorry I have been away. Why would a TOWN fake claim? That seems kind of pointless to me. I mean to take focus off of oneself it might be beneficial but, it would put the real doctor in a position. Right now, I believe SC...there is no counter claim as of yet so, in the meantime, I will believe.

Ceph....I'm not really sure what to do with you here. I have asked you to elaborate on why you don't think that not fully reading is Scummy and you have not answered. Ok....that was a big read. My personal feeling right now is that they are 2 Town players that are going at each other really hard...basically, one doesn't look Scummier than the other. That is just my oponion at this point. That being said, it would be a brilliant move for 2 of the Scum to go at each other like that...risky but, brilliant.

Ok...so I got home today to find that my husband had been cleaning (he threw out all my mafia notes...grrrr) I'm going to have to read again and get them all assembled. This may take a while and I'm sorry for that but, please bear with me.

My case on Ceph is because I believe that he is Scum. I will admit that I probably did get some tunnel vision because of this. When I get my notes reassembled, I will post my thoughts on the non Ceph stuff.
