[mrow]Prisoner's Dilemma[col]Player X Says No[col]Player X Says YesPlayer Y Says No[col]Both X and Y chooses one of these: daycop investigation, doc protection (may self-protect), 50% daykill next day.[col]X gets double vote next day and chooses one of either daycop investigation, doc protection (may self-protect), or next-day Prisoner Immunity. Y executed instantaneouslyPlayer Y Says Yes[col]X executed instantaneously. Y gets double vote next day and chooses one of either daycop investigation, doc protection (may self-protect), or next-day Prisoner Immunity.[col]X and Y play sudden-death rock-paper-scissors. Loser is executed instantaneously and winner survives. If tied, both are executed instantaneously.


Special Rules (add “unless specified otherwise” to end of each rule):

1. Each day lasts maximum 3 weeks.
2. Each player has two votes to vote on two different players to be sent to prison. Both votes cannot be used on same player. Players should use the tags
Send: MM
and
Unsend: MM
. I will reluctantly accept bolded votes and unvotes.
3. At end of each day, whichever two players has the most votes gets sent to prison for interrogation during the night. If a majority of votes is reached for two players before deadline, the day ends early. Tiebreaker is whoever reached a certain number of votes first.
4. While in prison, the two players will be asked the question: “Is the other player mafia?” The results are shown above.
5. While imprisoned, those players cannot target others and cannot be targeted by others.

Everyone wakes up and gathers at the center of town to start another day of discussing which two people should be sent to prison.

The Police Chief shows up as well and announces, "There has been a break-in last night at the prison. An unidentified suspect broke through various levels of security and managed to kill Crazy in one of the interrogation rooms. Nobody else was hurt. Orangepenguin was released from prison without completing the interrogation process."

He adds, "Well everyone, time for you to get back to work!"

The sun rises again as everyone goes back to the center of town for a third day debating which two people should be sent to prison. Except this time,
a lot
less number of people shows up...

The Police Chief is also present and announces, "The interrogation process resulted in both prisoners saying that the other is mafia. So we went to the rock-paper-scissors death match method earlier this morning. Both prisoners threw down scissors, which is a tie. Hence both have been executed."

He continues to say, "Last night there were also two people found dead at their respective houses. One was Albert B. Rampage and the other was TonyMontana. autopsy reports showed that ABR was killed by pistol fire while TM was killed by sniper fire."

He concludes, "Well everyone, time for you to get back to work!"

The sun seems to be shining much brighter on this 4th day, perhaps an omen to something great awaits the 4 people still present at the town center.

CarnCarn asked me about sending two scum to prison (which I gave a non-answer response) and repeatly mentioned his speculation about it in this game. In the end CarnCarn was indeed onto something as orangepenguin used his ability in the perfect situation and resulted in the ideal scenario for the town.

That's my initial thoughts, I'll have more in the next couple of days.

Some more thoughts on the game:

The PD scenarios:
I wanted to make the scenarios such that a yes-no combination yields {100% guaranteed death, better reward}, a no-no combination yields {lesser reward, lesser reward}, and a yes-yes combination yields {lesser punishment, lesser punishment}. I had a difficult time deciding what to make the "lesser punishment", and in the end decided to make it so that it was 66.7% death for both prisoners, and 0% if both were scum and coordinated beforehand. I also considered the town-scum prisoner combo and made the "no" option more appealing to scum by having the "lesser reward" be almost as good, if not better, than the "better reward" because of the daykill.
If anyone has good ideas to improve the PD scenarios, I'd love to see it.

Setup:
I thought overall it was pretty balanced given the difficulty to balance a game like this. The town had the huge disadvantage of being very uninformed, but had 3 very powerful roles to balance it. The scum had huge advantages of being informed and having tools to escape death and manipulate the town, but was limited by the 3 nightkills.

Game Strategy:
Before the game I thought each side had an ideal strategy that would them good chances for victory:
Town - Nail 1 scum in a regular PD scenario or ABR's scenario, Nail 1 scum with vig kill, Nail 1 scum with orangepenguin's ability
Scum - Confuse and manipulate the town early with the break in and super police chief kits, start using nightkills on Night 2, save escape kit in endgame just in case.

General:
I enjoyed reading and modding the game. Great play all around. I was also pleased with the activity, it was moving so fast that the game finished in only a month! I will definitely consider running a larger theme game with a similar mechanic in the future.
