Ahh! 1 page before I even got here!
I'd like to vote for both bird1111 and Monika for getting us into this mess, but since I can't do that...
OMGUS
Vote: RandomGem

No wait...
Unvote

OMGUS
Vote: drake_259

And geez, I actually thought someone named Bobbins died...

Whoa.
Every time I check this thing, either no new posts are made, or a whole page pops up...
First of all,
Unvote: drake_259

Second of all, every post from the last votecount but one have had votes/unvotes on them, so I have no clue where the standings are. So I'll just make an unofficial votecount...

1 - Mokina (bird1111)
3 - StrangerCoug (nhat, malthusis, Mokina)
1 - Iron Man (ChannelDelibird)
1 - drake_259 (Iron Man)
2 - DragonsofSummer (Nightwolf, Kairyuu)
3 - Kairyuu (DragonsofSummer, drake_259, StrangerCoug)

1 - None (RandomGem)

(Yay for stealing the mod's job!)

Oh look, clicked preview and saw nhat's posts.
Honestly, I don't know what to do. I can see that ChannelDelibird says that one should always have a vote on, but I... don't really like voting. I only random vote because everyone on this site does. Eh, just my styloe.

I know that playing the newbie card is frowned upon, but with drake having 4 votes on him, I feel I have to remind people to look at his joined date. I'm guessing "WIFOM" doesn't ring a bell to him...

In my opinion, a quarter of the town voting the same person stretches the term "random".
What's so bad about that?
It's me personally, but imagine throwing twelve 12-sided dice. The odds of getting three or more of the same number isn't very high as far as I know (but then again, I may have to refresh my memory about probability—I previewed my post with a dice string set to throw twelve 12-sided dice and got three ones and three twos).

This is only a situational example, and I know that using the dice string for an actual random vote is controversial. It's outside the context of this case anyway.
Well, for any one individual person, assuming the other 11 people vote for someone randomly, and no one votes for him/herself, the chance of someone getting 3 or more votes is 20311670611/285311670611, or roughly 7%. I won't be bothered to the casework for the total group, but that's not too low.
I know in this case it doesn't apply, but imagine someone's username here was
I'm Scum
. I think that'd attract plenty of random votes...

Okay, um...
So far, I think all 3 major bandwagons (StrangerCoug, Kairyuu, and drake_259) are overreacting - I don't think overreacting, putting pressure votes, and putting meager posts are scumtells, or at least not in the context they did it in.
But I'm not an expert scumhunter or anything... if everyone was like me, Day 1 would never end.

The only thing that has really caught my attention is this post (number 53):
bird1111 wrote:

I REALLY don't like how he just sneaks on to the Kairyuu bandwagon without adding anything.
It just seems like he's doing what he said drake was doing (except on another bandwagon)... Hypocrisy much?

It's an anti-town move by him, but I don't think it's scummy enough to warrant a vote, which is why I'm still hanging on to it.

Hi.

@nhat: Um, yeah... I'm getting pwned by school, marching band, and online math competitions, so I guess I am pretty uncommitted. And I am pretty conservative by nature -- I think it comes from real world (MeatWorld?) mafia games where I try to silently observe...

Can't really defend myself except by saying that's how I play. Don't even have meta to back me up... :(

@nhat: It's not as if I'm adamantly refusing to contribute anything. If you (or anyone) wants something, please kindly ask... (Specific questions, not general ones please >.<)

Based on my observation and what everyone's saying, I think Natirasha is just screwing with our minds. I dunno... maybe he wants to be voted out or something.

And just how eccentric is our mod, anyway?

Natirasha
Kairyuu
StrangerCoug
DragonsOfSummer
RandomGem
ChannelDelibird

Yet to claim:
Mokina
nhat
Iron Man
malthusis

Hi. I'm bored too. I didn't feel like posting before because it'd be a useless post like this, but now I'm posting for no reason... possibly to show I'm still following this game, and I'm just waiting until Iron Man/malthusis get replaced or come back and claim.

nhat, you still haven't revealed if you are psychiatrist or not... at least not explicitly. Any reason why?

Also, if we are assuming Natirasha's claim to be true, does it actually matter what happened to the scum NK?

I think Kairyuu's case is really thin. As has been mentioned before, DoS being revealed to be a doctor makes the lurky mafia on N1 case very thin. Also, the case pretty much hinges on 2 scum only, which I think is a unsafe assumption to make (because if it is wrong, we are in LyLo). And if we are in Lylo, then a malthusis lynch by policy would be very unwise... We should wait for his replacement at any rate.
I support a no lynch for this day. If there are 3 scum, then tomorrow we'll be at LyLo, but will have a higher probability to lynch scum. If there are 2 scum, we would still have 1 mislynch, which we would have whether or not we did no lynch or not. Also, in both cases (or if there is no night kill), town gains information from night actions.
Vote: No Lynch

On another note, why was nhat replaced? He was pretty active...

@Kairyuu: But our best course for the day is to not lynch. If we start scumhunting today but default to a no lynch at the end, don't we broadcast to scum a) who is suspicious at shouldn't be night-killed or b) who is right and should be night-killed?

This quote is interesting, because I don't see anyone suggesting any such thing. RandomGem/malthusis partnership? Definitely looks plausible to me.
I was referring to this:
Kairyuu wrote:@everyone: I guess that means I'm saying that I would support a policy lynch of malthusis in lieu of lynching Korts today if the rest of the town considers no information at all to be a better reason to lynch than what has been called a weak case, though I would also like some more participation and opinions from our lurkers (CDB, RandomGem, and StrangerCoug).

Have you ever heard of a rhetorical question, which can imply something even when you put it in a form of a question?
---
Okay, I really wanted to keep quiet for today, since in my opinion it equates to free info for scum (since suspicions could just be given the next day), but I think I've been outvoted on that.

Mokina, iamausername - They both look like good town leaders to me (Mokina through the whole game, and iamausername since he replaced in). I'm not particularly suspicious of either.
ChannelDelibird, malthusis, Korts - I don't particularly recall much of anything from these people...
StrangerCoug - He's getting most of the attention now. I'm seeing the logic in the cases on him, but also seeing the logic in his defense, having similar problems myself.
Kairyuu - His case and near immediate vote on Iron Man/Korts was unsettling, given that it's possibly Mislynch=lose, but I suppose it was harmless. At any rate, he's appeared protown to me.

I've found 0/2-3 scum using this process. Hooray. :?
---
By my count, I, StrangerCoug, and Mokina (3) have voted no lynch, Kairyuu has voted StrangerCoug (1), and we need 5 to lynch/no lynch.

Also, Zakeri, what reactions did you get from when you said this

@Kairyuu: Sorry, kinda missed the argument at me... I was referring to the rift I saw between your immediate vote on StrangerCoug and your unwillingness to massclaim. It makes more sense now, especially now that you've revealed that you were watching for a quicklynch (which is what I was really afraid of).
@StrangerCoug: I don't quite get what you're saying. I'm just trying to see if I somehow have some voting ability (i.e., trying to see if the mod lied), since I want to be able to vote. I doubt I will get a vote though. I just want to make sure, and I even said that I'll immediately take my vote off on the off chance it works. Plus, I want to vote the person who isn't letting me vote ;) .
@Kairyuu again: I see many reasons your new reason for suspicion on StrangerCoug can fail.
1. It might not be LyLo. There
could
be 2 scum, for all we know.
2. You could be scum.
3. I could be scum, and then scum wouldn't get the votes needed.
4. There could be a lurky scum that isn't active enough to quicklynch.

I've also formed more definite opinions/suspicions, but I'd rather wait until AFTER the massclaim is finished to say them.

Well, especially to 3., this would be a case that YOU personally have to consider. But no, I'm not inferring that I am. And lurky could just be
more
inactive than others. For example, if scum tried to quicklynch, but townpeople were watching the topic more (like maybe once per day vs once per hour), then town could notice an attempted quicklynch and easily find the scum.

Wow... I thought we were waiting for me. Sorry, I'm busy these days, and I'll be gone tomorrow too... :/ (And also Friday)
My Actions:
Night 1: Iron Man
Night 2: CDB
Night 3: iamausername

I kinda went randomly after lurkers trying to RB, then after seeing DoS die, I tried to go doctor.

@SC: Seriously, I was just testing my ability to vote. It didn't really matter who I picked (as long as it wasn't you since you had 1 vote already), so I just went with one that I thought would be slightly humorous. :/ There wasn't anything to lose, since if it failed, then it'd just be what was expected anyway.

The fact that StrangerCoug has 2 votes on him but hasn't been quicklynched is good, but distressing to me... And I personally thought that at least one of the townie claims had to be fake, since it's a very easy claim. And I thought 4 townies might be unbalanced, considering there was an SK also, but maybe this is balanced by all the power roles? :/ I dunno.

I think that's a bit too hasty...
Oh and about the townie fake claim thing: I just meant that 4 townies seemed like a lot given an SK along with scum, but I don't really know balance, so never mind. And just 'cause one of the claimed townies is likely scum doesn't mean it has to be SC.

What purpose does saying you're not scum even serve?
This is a sig. It has nothing funny or witty in it.

The day/game ended while I was gone? :S
Yeah, I realized I was a horribly bad player (and I think I would have looked scummy regardless of alignment like SC). I thought I was gonna get lynched today, so my plan was to defend SC from being lynched so that he'd be an easy lynch the day after I left.
Eh, I guess my fakeclaim worked well. Especially since there was only 1 claimed power role left in the game.

Hooray! My first ended game!
