either way, consider this post another vote for lowercase + no tagline.
my one issue with a typewriter-y font is how it would show up on merch, esp if you get shirts and the shirt printer is like "oh can we get that vectorized"
from personal exp it is SUCH A PAIN to do it
must i have a gender.. is it not enough for me to simply b kinda hot sometimes

I don't like it/don't get it, mafiascum is from dotcom boom, not from typewriter era
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

If the logo is made in a vector editor in the first place, this is a non-issue.
(Are people not designing these in Illustrator?)
“There is nothing so dangerous for anyone who has something to hide as conversation! A human being [...] cannot resist the opportunity to reveal himself and express his personality which conversation gives him. Every time he will give himself away.” -Hercule Poirot
I would say that the goal behind this logo is relevant to which we choose. Something like the silent movie or typewriter aesthetic can be a cute bit, but it's alienating to people outside the know.
Generally you want the logo to be simple, a little layer of depth, and something that is fun or at least not painful to look at
The concern with the silent movie aesthetic is that it's a greyscale in a time period where that's not particularly in or engaging
(Obv my preference is still with caled's magnifying glass, but this is at least why I think it's the best candidate at this point)
I'm not actually a fan of how it looks or how it would translate to other icons. I just try to throw something together when I have an idea and as long as its not a complete disaster, post it.
I get your point, though. There are also free vector editors out there, however.

also, in the spirit of just trying things and while i'm still trying out different sepia designs, i made one with some icons, so i suppose i might as well post it.

Like the symbols, yesterday I took a look at the submissions and wanted to wait a day to see which one I could remember the best.
I looked at the first three popular companies I could think of(Apple, Amazon, and Dominos) and they all included a symbol on their website.
When I think about how I would describe what mafia is I would say it is a deduction game and also a conflict between two teams. I think that this one portrays both while still staying simple.
I thought the original intention was to quickly put a placeholder logo up and take our time picking a more permanent one but that like didn't happen or whatever.

if we were after something as a fill in or even the real thing.
A rabble rabble silhouetted Mob with maybe a couple of pitchforks to convey intent.
Would go with the current (a mob has formed) wording that mob has formed and with the process by which many in-game executions happen. Inciting mob voiolence on the thinly suspected victim.
As for method Id lean into beheading and men with axes. (It TBMK connotates with beheading people who eat cake, and the we all know the cake is a lie.) (but Im only little biased about men with axes)
