Typically, on D2 I would look over the posts of the person who was killed and see who would target them. But in this case the person who was probably supposed to be dead is alive, and everyone who would target them is already dead. So I think Yos was picked because he seemed the most protown (against roleclaims and the likes). That's the only thing I see from that.

Well, if it later appears, it will demonstrate that I have the ability that I say I have. It's probably not an ability that has any inherent townliness, so it's not a particularly useful verification, but it's something.

Ok, just wanted to make sure you didn't say this to prove your towniness (and to help pass the mod review :)).

Tar: Is it against the rules to state your character name?

Role name is the one and only part of the role PM that may be directly quoted. - Tar

If not, then I think we should have a mass name claim. Now I know some of you have stated that you don't like it, but I feel it could help us later rather than help the scum. If your against it, state your reason why and if your for it just say you are (majority yes then I say we do it, and vice versa.)

I'm against the idea of a mass name claim, because I don't think there's likely to be an obvious link between role name and alignment, so it doesn't seem like we'd gain anything, and scum might be able to make educated guesses about which role names would be most likely attached to a power role that's particularly dangerous to them. Can't see how it would help the town.

A nuclear launch. A shot in the dark.

Two projectiles converge on their mark.

A change of world. A blinding flash.

And Jenter Brolincani is brought unto ash.
"A shot in the dark" = mafia, "A nuclear launch" = SK/(other anti-town group with NK ability)? (Reminds me of the "Nuclear launch detected" quote earlier.) Mafia traditionally uses guns, and "Two projectiles converge on their mark" heavily suggests two separate kills to me.

I agree with Macavenger that the attempted murder of Yosarian2 makes him look more town. Unless of course he's the SK and knew of the redirection rule. For now, I'll work with the theory that requires the least complications (Occam's razor; Yosarian2 was targeted because someone wanted him dead). Occam's razor might not work very well in this particular game, but it'll do for now.

It would seem apparent that Jenter's mafia group tried to kill him without knowing the redirection rule, though. At least until there's reason to think there's a redirector somewhere.

Rule 29 is interesting. I don't have any reason to doubt iamausername for now (no reason to trust him either, mind you, apart from that it would be silly for him to fake that). I'm guessing there's either someone who can activate new rules, or that there are certain things in the game that leads to new rules being activated.

I'm against a mass name claim. I agree with iamausername's points, and I don't see what good it would make. I don't see myself voting anyone simply because of their name anyway, especially not in a setup like this.

I think we should vote more. Not necessarily lynch anyone, but vote.
Vote: MafiaSSK
(Battousai). This is a "It's apparently good to vote, so I'm voting you. Why are you so anxious to get everyone to mass claim, anyway?" vote.

This really doesn't make much sense. As best we can tell, Yos was targeted by two killing roles. That rather definitively makes someone who would target him alive, even ignoring the fact that Jenter almost certainly had buddies. Further, how is your stance that he was picked because he looked the most town consistent with your earlier adamant belief that we shouldn't consider him likely town because he was targeted?

I'm also against the mass name claim, because chances are that it would be far more likely to help scum find dangerous powers than help the town determine scum. This is doubly true with the town namecop dead.

Vote: MafiaSSK
(Battousai) for the moment.

I'm against the mass claim because scum could have fake claims, and then that leaves the scum with far far more info than the town. That's just not really terribly sensible, and it seems to me like you might be trying to dig for info, especially seeing as Jenter's role had a little bit of game flavor in it- as someone pointed out that the rules to the game that he was from were to be kept hidden, and poof, now that he's dead, no longer hidden.

I'm not claiming a power role at all. I simply asked if anything happened because I have no idea what my role does. At this point I have no idea if the action was caused by me or someone else and I don't want anyone to say if they targeted him because i don't want to out anyone. My role is the most confusing thing I've ever read in a game of mafia and I'm trying to start making sense of it if I can.

Interesting, I didn't have any problem understanding my role. I wasn't under the impression that the roles were particularly confusing, rather the rest of the game; did I just get lucky there?

I think we shouldn't really look towards non normal methods to hunt scum in this game. We should go about it the same way as we always do, I think people may be getting sidetracked with the goals on hand.
