Nono, I think you probably just caught your own scent.Wall-E wrote:I voted for you because you changed your vote on page 1. No other reason. Your overdefensiveness smells a bit humany to me, though.
Aren't you forgetting Mr. Gurgi as well then?
If asking why you voted for me when you didn't give a reason in the first place is overdefensive, then sure, I guess I am!-

There's a difference between being defensive and overdefensive. You labeled me overdefensive from only asking why you voted for me. If you're going to paint me overdefensive from one response, that seems like a bit of a stretch.
Unless you didn't realize, I use "also" because I have been double posting and it's because I didn't include it in my first post.
Seems to me like all you're doing is trying to straw man.

Agreed. That is a good strategy. It happened in the first SSW game as well. I'll vote myself just in case.Battle Mage wrote:
I am totally serious about this. I was scum in the last game, and the thing that really killed us off was when the town quickly lynched and both my buddy and i didnt have time to submit an NK before the day was over. It allows us to confirm some people, and is a great way of scumhunting imo. People may have posted, and may be following the game, but it's unlikely that scum have decided an NK and submitted it yet.M4yhem wrote:What if the mafia has already posted, BM? And the power roles haven't?
And why Panda for the lynch and not someone else?
because obviously you're totally serious about this.
Fos:Skruffsfor claiming his role without any pressure put on him.
I voted Panda because he had the highest amount of votes at the time obvobv. This is not the time to pussy-foot around. We need SPEED.

Poor logic is better than what? Being defensive as he said? How is being defensive bad? It will get the game out of the random stage quicker, and seeing as how days only last 3 RL days, we should be getting out of it as soon as possible. I could just as easily respond to your posts with no seriousness at all, but that doesn't really help, does it?Empking wrote:Vote: Sleepy panda
It was the random voting stage, poor logic is better than none.-

It's for the greater good, nyeh?
The thing is, it's just a gamble. A gamble to see if we can lynch before any of the humans who are allowed to NK can send in the command. Obvious, if they active and notice what's going on, it falls apart, so hesitation is not what we want. It's beneficial if it works as you're lynching one potential human and also removing the NK. But if it does fail, it only hurts doubly so.

But the time it takes for all of those people to switch votes onto Wall-E, it could give scum enough time to place an NK.cerebus3 wrote:
If everyone who is voting you votes Wall-E, then we have a quick lynch. At this moment, we have everyone we need to lynch me already.

Mmm yeah, I see what you're saying.cerebus3 wrote:lynching along those lines don't move us closer to catching scum at all. What we are doing is essentially voting no-lynch in order to choose who the scum NK, if you follow. No real chance of catching scum, so we just lose a townie with absolutely no info to go off of.
Put it this way. Say the plan works and the scum don't get a NK, how are we in a better position to win tomorrow than we are today?
Lynching fast is okey by me, be we gain nothing by lynching people we think are town.-

You're assuming that both Wall-E and I are both town, but weren't you saying Cerberus doing the same thing was considered scummy? You seem pretty sure that Wall-E is now town, how are you so positive? It looks like all you're going off of is by association.BM wrote:This game moves quickly. I've never been suspicious of Mayhem really. SleepyPanda is off the cards. Wall E is most likely town too. Cerebus and Donkey are the two scumbags we must choose from today. What do you mean by 'more high profiled'?
I still find Wall-E scummier than Cerebus or Donkey.-

Read it again.Battle Mage wrote:ROFL. I just read Wall-E's posts. Is he really being bandwagonned for making a random vote?
BM
It was a random vote when he had said nothing at all. When asked, he gave the reason that he voted me, which was for changing my vote on the first page. When asked why he chose me over the other two who had done the same thing (Mayhem, Cerberus) he added defensiveness and erratic posting. But those two factors should not even be considered when choosing as they happened AFTER he first voted.-

Quicklynching is pretty much a bad idea at this point. From my count, 11 people have come into this thread after the idea of quicklynching was brought up. That's almost 3/4's of the entire game.M4yhem wrote:What's the problem, Spyre-x? If we want to quicklynch, we need to all vote for the same person.
Grimmy- I got it the first time, I just don't see the point of you telling us that and find your lack of opinion scummy.-

I think you're only at like 6 votes, didn't double check though.Wall-E wrote:People, people. I am an important role. Someone give me a lynch count and if I'm at L1 I will roleclaim.
Quicklynch seemed to have already been out of the question, so you weren't really in danger of being lynched. Claiming a power role without saying what it is is just dangerous as roleclaiming, so I'm not sure what you were doing there. I would've preferred a defense instead of a claim.-

That's a completely different situation than my using "also". I was asking questions for clarification, not proving a point or stating anything important. You concluding that the reason I'm using the word "also" is purely because of nervousness is baseless. Did you consider that I was using the word for it's actually definition?Wall-E wrote:Also, Jesus what a bunch of touchy buttwipes. I was just pointing out a linguistic tendancy. It would be like if someone said "It's very, very important that you-" The second very kinda tips you off that it's important to THEM and not important in GENERAL. Things that are important are self-evidentiarilly so.-

Ace and Septia are the only ones who haven't checked in, which, assuming the standard 3 scum, means at least one mafia has already been here and had a chance to send in a kill. For that reason, I don't think BM's plan will work anymore.
I still think it was a good thing though, since it got the game moving.
I'll reread tomorrow and find something more solid to vote for.
Why unvote now and state the obvious? I told you pretty much the same thing on page 5 but you didn't feel the need to unvote then?
I'm pretty sure most of the people on Wall-E's wagon at the moment aren't hoping for a lynch, but a claim, as he already claimed a power role. It looks like you were on his wagon for a completely different reason.-

I understand Wall-E needs to claim, we can't just let him get away with softclaiming, but I don't want to vote for him anymore.-

Yes, if you click that "Profile" button under your posts, there's a "Find all posts" link.
So, you're saying you've done something similar (by similar I mean intentionally hurt town when you are town as well, for the sake of fun) in all of your early games? I'll find something like that in, which I think is your first game, Newbie 260?-

M4yhem only unvoted, he didn't hop on anyone else's wagon afterwards. It looks like he also unvoted because of other people pressuring him.For being full on a wagon for one player and hopping off for another at L-1?
I don't know if you missed that post by M4yhem when he asked for someone to hammer, but would you still find him suspicious if Wall-E was scum?Porkens wrote:I think it was incredibly scummy to stop the wagon like that. If Wall-E Flips mafia, FoS on M4yhem.

BM
Did him softclaiming exempt him from being NKed? No.
In fact, he made himself the top NK candidate when he softclaimed. Yeah, I guess when someone acts scummy we should just let them be just in case they decides to claim for no reason.
Please explain to me how his vote is random when he gave a reason. If it was random, he would've just said so, plain and simple. He gave reasons for every question I asked him. If it was indeed random, he should've stopped at one point. It was not random.BM wrote:So he made a random vote. You acted over-defensively. Random vote stays on you. Your case seems to be that he random-voted you over the other players in the game, which is a pretty weak argument given the nature of a random vote as being RANDOM.

What does the phrase parroting mean to you? I don't think anyone else is looking into it as much as you are. If this game wasn't nightless, then maybe I'd find it suspicious as it could be used as a secret code, but seeing as how scum can talk during day, it's moot here.
What do you think about M4yhem's case?
