Chapter Fifteen: The Golden Scheme
« on: December 02, 2021, 08:08:43 pm »

You will be playing Kung Fu Chess. You have been randomly sorted into a tournament bracket.

Please schedule a time with your first round opponent and a mod as soon as possible. When you are ready, log into the provided account on the site. One of you should create a room and post the link in your thread in the forum(we'll set these threads up in a sec). Please make sure everyone is ready before you begin playing. You should play on standard speed, and you will play a best of 3 (5 for finals).

As it says on the tin, this is chess with no turns. You can move your pieces whenever you feel like it. The pieces move in accordance with the rules of chess, which you can find by Googling if you don't know them. After you move a piece, it goes on cooldown and cannot be moved until a few seconds have passed. Unlike real chess, there is no "check" -- if your king is taken, you lose.

It may be possible to do this on mobile, but we would not recommend it. Practicing with other players in this game or mafiascum users (as they could be in the game) is not allowed, but you can practice with non-MS friends if you want. Good luck!

Some clarifications/changes on the above:

You won't be using accounts, you can play without them. You will show up as 'Anonymous' so please confirm with a mod what colour you're playing before you begin (it's the one closest to you on the board).

Do not hit ready immediately. First make sure a) you and your opponent are both in the game, and b) a mod is ready to spectate it. Then confirm a time to start (xx:30 or suchlike) and hit ready at that time. The game will begin as soon as both players have done so.

Once you've finished your first game, you should be able to rematch on the same screen. Confirm a time to start the rematch with your opponent and hit ready. Keep going until someone has won the best of 3.

Quick note, if you want to spectate someone else's game you can, but make sure you join via the Spectator link, not the Player link! Otherwise the game gets very confused :P

The player link will look something like: https://www.kfchess.com/game/XXXXXX?key=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To make it into the Spectator link, remove the key part so it just looks like: https://www.kfchess.com/game/XXXXXX?

It looks like there might not be a mod present after I go to sleep (which I'm about to do) so I'm going to relax the rules a bit and say you don't need to have a mod spectating, but you're under honour rules to report the correct result. You might want to take a screenshot of the 'you win' screen to verify this, but as long as the result is reported we'll accept it.

Remember, all matches are best of 3 except the finals which is best of 5. Winner of Caspar v Edelgard will face Ashe, winner of Lorenz v Dorothea will face Raphael.

Congratulations Caspar! He defeats Lorenz 3-0 in the final to win immunity this round.
