Okay, so Jebus didn't pay attention to the opening. Although the claim is definitely scummy. Had even one person role claimed, then the mafia would have more information (and thanks to the win condition at the beginning) town would gain virtually nothing. (Unless their role was something ridiculous, but I know NOTHING about this series, so someone please dumb it down for me if you are think someone's claim is total BS...)

Yeah, Jebus playing the "oopsiedaysies I'm just a newb so pwease dont get angwy at me if I act scummy" bit is getting kind of annoying. Whats that, three scum strikes? Personally I'm used to playing speedgames so I'm tempted to rush into things and urge people to vote. I mean right now the Jebus vote is as about as solid as you're gonna get at this stage, and it'll get people talking.

pardon my ignorance, but wouldn't the anti-federation players know each other before the game starts? Or not neccesarily?

That depends. But probably, yes. Most setups inform the mafia of their fellow scum partners. They wont be informed of an SK.

I missed the win condition thing, which was an honest accident, not intentional. I'm no mafia-newb, either. You know, I do realize how scummy I act. Why? Personally, I hate games with a deadline of longer than a week. Slow games that drag on forever bore me. If I act different from everyone else, there's a better chance of someone doing something scummy.

I really think you're just trying to rationalize blatant scum mistakes. I mean I could be wrong fo sho', but I think you warrant some votes and a possible claim.

Jebus, my vote was random but you're not doing anything that makes me want to remove it. It's way way too early to be talking about claims (Tim, this applies to you too) especially when (as previously mentioned) any character could be on either side. Hell, even Rom could be with the Dominion.

I disagree with that.

I think if there are changelings, they will have an active ability to morph into someone assuming their role, maybe directing night actions around or something (also possibly appearing innocent to cops). Finding the changeling is going to be very hard but I dont think it should breed an atmosphere of extreme extreme paranoia where we're all thinking everyone else is a changeling. From a logical standpoint, I think we just have to accept that there are changelings but not let it interfere with
every single point made about a possible character role
.

If that makes any sense.

I agree that Jebus comes over at scummy and one can say that could've been newbie mistakes, but as he/she says that he/she isn't a newbie...dunno

I still feel that Zone's "You have dishonored your family." is scummy.
Firstly because it was in klingon, secondly, it may have reference to his character of which i probably don't know about since i havent seen much of the series.
thirdly, it just sounds scummy to me.

I for one will not be taking ANY character claim as any kind of evidence whatsoever unless the role is completely at odds with the character. i.e. I'd be very wary of someone claiming Garak the Vigilante or Gul Dukat the Doc but that's it.
In a game with changelings then there's no safe CCs and to play as if there are would be very foolish. Ultimately, I think a character claim is pretty worthless. To be honest I'd have no problem with D1 mass CC just to get it out of the way. Since I can't think of a DS9 character
without
a logical power role I also believe it wouldn't be too harmful for the town.

The two biggest wagons are Tim and Jeb. I was going to vote for Jeb, but I looked back at his post in isolation, and really didn't see much scummishness. I looked back at Tim's though and I see some patterns (it is very early, so this may be premature).

Tim has posted a lot, but most of his posts lack any type of content, even his lastest ones. By page 5 we should start having from content (his changlings post is the exception). There is also a lot of coaching (Posts 7,9,20), asking questions without providing his own opinion (Post 17), and agreeing with others without much explanation (Post 19). These are his non-content posts: 1-6, first part of 8, 11-14, 16, 18.

He is also using buddying / non-offensive phrasology alot. examples: "I could be wrong, fo sho" (post 21) and "if that makes any sense" (post 22).

Also his comment on his Jebus vote was "Let's see where this goes" (post 9).

for those reasons -

don't discard the idea as nothing just because it doesn't mean anything this moment/day/time

also, why would you only look at the two biggest bandwagons? both of them are mostly based on random votes. Zoneace votes for Jebus with reason, Nudude doesn't see a reason to remove his vote from Jebus.

Timeater is bored cus this is his only game running and mostly comments to get some reactions

Agree that he doesn't give much opinions himself, Timeater care to elaborate?

Also, the question Timeater asked, anybody care to comment?

I think you don't know what you are talking about. zone saying a cliche klingon quote is not scummy no matter the moment day or time.

lol Sekin.
I have the biggest post count in the thread so far
, I'm used to people bandwagoning and jumping to conclusions about me d1. Originally I wanted to tone down my hyper-aggressiveness (just read some of my other threads) for this game but eh. Spade is a spade. Yes, it is premature - you have no idea what my playstyle is like. Frankly I see your attack on me as basically bandwagoning, because all the other votes on me are random.
FoS sekinj

Let me explain what happens day 1 to the uninitiated. Through randomness or a case built on shady logic (or an obvious scum blunder), a person is elevated to 2-1 votes away from lynch. Said person claims or halfclaims in hopes of bringing the heat off him. If the claim is good, the votes will dissapate. If the claim is bad, hammertime. Thats what I meant by "lets see where this goes". I'm sorry for posting alot and trying to be helpful? :P

@tim: don't talk to me about post count when half your posts are "UGHHhh" and other useless one liners.

I don't have to know you or your playstyle to be suspicious of you or not. If you would like me to consider meta evidence, please provide links.

and you can keep your notes to yourself next time.

The fact I just started the series, as pointed out earlier, should obviously point out that I indeed have (mostly) no idea what I'm talking about.

I can't put the sentence Zoneace said into context as I don't know the series, but the sentence itself I found scummy. In any other game, had anyone said it, it would've been something.
For example, perhaps someone was saying something that Zoneace thought was giving away information and said a pretty popular sentence which would warn yet wouldn't be suspicious...but as he said it at the beginning of the day i doubt it would be that.

But fine. i wont talk about it anymore (at least) for today

Perhaps Time has a lot of useless one liners but that doesnt make him necessarily scum, he tries at least to post lots to keep the conversation going.
Also, 2 bandwagons of the 2 people who've spoken the most. Just saying.

Also. Sekin. You're mean. This is my second game be nice.
