I’d like to say I’m disappointed in this site if this is what it has come to, that any time we disagree with other people on topics like this one that we are verbally abused and then banned for our opinions. If this is really the position mods take, it’s a poor reflection on the site in general, and especially on how you treat others and their opinions. It doesn’t make me sad to be leaving.

If you do get punished, it wasn't because you are religious, it's because you hold a horrible opinion about homosexuality. Being religious, or getting that belief from your religion doesn't absolve you of guilt on that count.
Because I’m not (just) talking about this particular instance.
I’m talking about in general, if this is how situations are going to be treated, it is a horrible precedent to set for the site and a terrible image to portray of it and it’s members.

It isn't simply you disagree with the OPINION of other people on the site, it is that you disagree with their existence. "I dislike with the essence of this marginalized population's existence" is not mere moral opinion, it is an attack on the personhood of members of this site and should be treated accordingly.

I assume this is due to the Donald Trump thread content where he is like "love the sinner hate the sin," which I think is guilty of being pedestrian and quite 90s, but not of denying anyone's humanity.
