How dare you kill me jack! Also, glork, you didn't strike me as the type to n1 kill. If I were still alive I would have been kinda confused. Um, also, N1 Doc no protect? That's non-standard. Again, it worked out for the better, but *shrug*. Anyway, town got a lot of luck with the nightkills, and didn't really need much precision to win after their luck. None the less, not a bad game by town.

So my question is, should I have protected on Night 0? Obviously this game could have turned out much differently, but in general, is it a good strategy?

I don't, usually. I even told MeMe that in my PM. And I explained the justification for it earlier... more than 50% chance of hitting a scumbag. I felt it was worth it.

You were much more likely to protect scum than town so it made the most sense.

4/8 chance that the SK targets a scumbag.
3/7 chance that the Mafia targets a scumbag (assuming the existence of an SK).
3/7 chance that the Werewolves target a scumbag (assuming the existence of an SK).

Tough call. A bit of a coinflip, really.

How about in a standard Mini game where you have only 3 or 4 out of 12 players who are scum. I see Coron stated it was non-standard, but what's the thought behind it?

I realize that... and, honestly, if this had been a regular game and not the forum equivalent of a ScumChat game, I would have grappled with the issue much more. I basically figured "eh, what the hell... why not?" and just did it. *shrug*

er nm, I think I'm wrong, forgot you couldn't target yourself. about 4.5something/8 chance of hitting scum.

Anyway yeah, in a normal mini, docs protect night 1.

But if he doesn't protect a scumbag who gets
killed
then it doesn't matter, Jack.

Actually, I could protect myself on one night, if I so chose. In retrospect I should have used that on N0 to make sure that I kept myself alive. lol

I think you did as well as you could, Jack. The one thing I got is that you had this "lynch anyone but me" mentality (which I also picked up on from Klebian) which is what I'd expect a scumbag to have in that situation. You're effectively an SK, and in a fast-paced game (such as one in ScumChat), you see solo scumbags pushing harder than normal.

Honestly I figured Glork would be protected, which is the only reason he wasn't dead n1, that would have given scum a much better chance. Bah, oh well, 20/20 hindsight.
