This is your basic mafia setup. Here are the roles:

You are the mafia (2). You may only talk with each other during the game's "night," not during the "day." You let me know before the night's deadline who will be your victim. You win the game when all the other players are dead.

You are the cop (1). Every "night" before the deadline you send me an email with a name of your choice, and I will let you know whether that player is mafia or not. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

You are the doctor (1). Every "night" before the deadline you send me an email with a name of your choice, and that player cannot die if attacked by the mafia that night. You cannot heal yourself. You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

You are a townie (3). You are not allowed to communicate with any of the other players outside the thread. You win the game when the mafia are dead.

Random votes are rarely truly random. Truly random votes are pretty pointless.

Instead, reasons are sometimes attached to them, and they allow your subconscious and conscious suspicions be vocalised.

Assuming we have a good mod (and we do), it is usually a better idea to replace people who aren't turning up at all - we can't afford to lynch too many innocents in this game.

It is okay to lynch people who are delibrately lurking though.

I know, just hoping to stir up *some* kind of conversation...I know every lynch in this game is worth like 3 in a regular, since we have so few people and go to lynch or die very easily...Pie and Willow are unavailable for the weekend...I dunno about the others...

That interests me only because otaku switched from random voting me to voting feantur. And I want to know if you are voting feantur because of feanturs silence in the thread (other than notifying of recieving role). And if that is the case then if feantur is not here/not posting how does voting feantur make the town less quiet?

You're right about Otaku, I'd like to have an explanation for his vote.

I don't want to frighten them . You might want to see it as semi-random. But notice that jadesmar, who's usually quite active, hasn't posted a thing. Is he lurking scum or just absent? Considering his experienced-status, I find his lack of participation in this newbie game disturbing.

well, I voted for feantur because he was the only person who had not said anything today, aside from Pie and Jadesmar. Pie said he wouldn't be here until monday, and Jadesmar already had a vote. With 4 votes to lynch, I think two votes sitting on an inactive player is much worse than 1 vote on two inactive players. The former possibly leading to a quick lynch by a responsive mafia. My vote was to get feantur's attention and have him say something. I've already had bad experience dealing with lack of participation in these newbie games...
