This is the deal. A random wagon doesn't get much direct info, especially a page two random wagon. However, a wagon is the best way to get some sort of meaningful converstaion going. I contructed the wagon by putting the third vote on. I never made any effort to get anyone else onto the wagon, nor did I see any reason to truly lynch bird. Admittedly, the first thing that looked remotely scummy (Nightfall asking for a justification of a OMGUS vote on the wagonned player), I switched my vote. Now we got people taking sides, real sides, not random sides. Only page three and we are into the heart of the game, mission accomplished.

The reason that statement by Nightfall was at least a little scummy is that an OMGUS vote has no reason beyond that. You're voting for someone that attacked/voted for you . Almost like asking for a justification for a random vote. It also seemed that he was really trying to give a little credence to a completely contrived wagon.

Sorry, I thought you meant his "he'll give me reason soon enough" post was the one advocating the wagon, not his "reason for OMGUS" post. My bad.

The parts I bolded are dead wrong.

Bird OMGUS voted Jerry. Not the other way around. Jerry is not being wagoned. Therefore I did not ask for justification for a vote on a wagoned player.

In fact Bird is the only person voting Jerry I believe. Thus making his vote even scummier. Jerry didnt really do anything much to deserve Bird's omgus vote, which makes it look a whole lot more like a revenge vote than anything else.

And I take OMGUS votes to ussually be backed by some reasoning and not just revenge like you seem to think.

OMGUS: [Oh My God! You Suck!]. Usually used in the context of an 'OMGUS vote' - i.e. a vote for someone purely on the basis that they are voting for you.

The wagonned player refers to Bird, you asked for a justification on Bird's vote on Jerry. It is the only vote on Jerry. I would ask, rather, why are so many people jumping on Bird so soon, are there any good reasons. Except that that is ridiculous. There are no good reasons for the bird wagon.

Voting is not pushing a wagon, it is jumping on. Pushing means actively posting to try and get the wagon to a lynch. Nightfall, you actually tried to raise a case against Bird with your questions. Oportunistic if nothing else.

Yes, but by asking for clarification on why Bird OMGUSvoted, you are implying that he did something unbecoming of a protown player - if it was obviously a protown move then there would be no reason to question it. By asking for clarification and, by association, asserting that his OMGUS vote could be suspicious, you are advocating the wagon on Bird by giving credence to the idea that he might be scummy.

I similarly don't agree that an OMGUS vote requires justification at such an early stage. It can be a scumtell in later stages of the game in that it could be some kind of diversionary tactic or similar but I find that OMGUS votes in the random voting phase of a game are entirely common and don't often imply alignment. Methinks you're trying too hard to attribute false scumtells onto something which doesn't really have any.

I certanly don't find Nightfall's actions particularily scummy, although I also do not believe that they benefitted the town. I really think that it was a neutral move, due to a disagreement on what OMGUS votes are.
