Mini 223 - Human Body Mafia, Game over.

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Aug 21, 2005 8:34 am

Post by shelper »

Hello everybody, and welcome to human body mafia.

Say hello to Steve, you’ll be using his body for the remainder of this game, so saying hello is the least you could do.
Through some freak accident probably involving gamma rays and fluorescent liquids in decanters, some of Steve’s body parts have began to live a life of their own.
While most of them are happy serving Steve as they have always done, making sure Steve’s life is as pleasant as it could be, some parts have rebelled, and will be trying to take out the other body parts! Steve is currently hospitalised and under careful observation. The fate of Steve lies in your hands…

Body parts still functioning: (12)

  • NanookTheWolf
  • esme
  • nonny
  • Nai
  • EnderX
  • indentureddjin
  • Save The Dragons
  • GreenLiquid
  • Bifrost
  • shadyforce
  • Yaw
  • Chaotic_Diablo
Body parts decommissioned: (0)
  • None!
It is now Day 4. With 4 alive, its three to lynch.

Here are the rules, stolen from Meme. I reserve the right to make changes and additions to these at any time. You will be notified when i do so.

  • Votes
must be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted.
  • Please be attentive and
    unvote
, if necessary, before casting a new vote. This is not required, but I’d appreciate it.
  • Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may
    vote: no lynch
    – majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.
  • The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
  • Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.
  • Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts
  • Don’t quote any PMs from me.
  • If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.
  • If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.
  • Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be fun. Do your part.

Day 1.

26-08-2005 13:50
Doctor Dyce's report of patient S. Graham.

"The patient is worse off than first appeared. His vocal chords have been punctured, started bleeding, and now have completely severed. This has rendered Steven un-able to talk.

In addition to those injuries, his lungs have shown signs of degrading, i don't expect they will be able to function much longer."

Update:

26-08-2005 18:00
Mr Graham's lungs have now stopped working completely, it appears as though they have been cut off from the bloodstream completely. Mr. Graham has been put in an Iron Lung to keep him stable.

EnderX, vocal chords, broadcaster, pro-town, killed night 1, punctured.
indentureddjin, lungs, motivator, pro-town, killed night 1, cut off from the bloodstream.

Status: Day 1, with 10 alive, it's 6 to lynch.

Why do you think the lungs died in two steps? Could they have been targetted twice or are three potential deaths too much for a mini?

At first I thought it's just flavour. Had Steve's lungs died instantly, his body would have done so as well. Whereas a delayed death allows time for doctors to put in a replacement.

But having re-read it, it does seem like they took two hits. The second one seems obviously to have been a killer blow, but I'm not so sure about the first. It seems more like either delayed death or some kind of block, but I suppose how exactly do you kill something twice otherwise, so yeah, maybe it was just killed twice.

(Slightly off-topic note: Shelper, while I've not played in many games I watched a lot, and that is some of the best flavour text I've ever seen )

I think the lung only took one hit. As far as I know, cells don't instantly die when cut off from the bloodstream, rather they slowly run out of oxygen and nourishment and, well, generally degrade.

I agree with Bifrost, about the being hit by one blow. I don't agree with the underscore thing.

I don't see the two steps that everyone is posting about. I see that the vocal cords were severed, and the lungs were cut off from the blood stream. That's two different hits.

First of all, I'm female, if you don't know, ask.
Second, if you don't understand something, ask.

The death of the lungs was spread over two instances which could be flavour, a killing method, OR two hits. First, they showed "signs of degrading" without talking about the bloodstream. Then they were cut off.

Ah, I see what you mean. It seemed pretty cut and dry to me. Doctor's preliminary examination, the lungs seemed to be degrading. Then when he actually checked, he found they were cut off. But that just seems like flavor to me.

And people call me a girl at times, shows how much people look at the gender marker. Sorry about that.

Unvote: esme

I seem to be getting all the welcome votes. How delightful.

As for the lungs, it's clear regardless that we have at least two scum groups. If there's a delayed killer or anything that does something similar to the first "stage", it'll show up in future nights too and we'll be able to pick up on the numbers then. Arguing over whether or not it exists now doesn't help us much in any practical sense.

Although, looking over the posts, it does appear that Esme wanted that pointed out for a reason.

I think it is hard for the scum to speculate about scum groups and killing styles because they have to conceal that they *know* it.

Mr Graham's lungs have now stopped working completely, it appears as though they have been cut off from the bloodstream completely. Mr. Graham has been put in an Iron Lung to keep him stable.
The more I look at it, the more I see how it can be reasonably interpreted either way and i wouldn't jump on anyone's bandwagon based on their opinion.

Everyone go look at who jumped on esme's bandwagon, when, how and why because I think it took off a little quickly.

Anyway, for the record my current my current opinion is best summed up by Nai's summary:
Nai wrote:Doctor's preliminary examination, the lungs seemed to be degrading. Then when he actually checked, he found they were cut off.

Ok fine, all the welcome votes I'm not making. :P

The esme-wagon's currently at 2 votes. "Took off too quickly"? There's barely a wagon to speak of.

At any rate, I'm voting on the "Look what I did!" theory. I'll admit I usually have better to go on for my semi-random wagons, but you work with what you can. It's less her opinion than the fact that she brought it up virtually as an established fact.

wow that is funny....this is gonna be a funny game....Personally i have no clearcut opinion on the deathscene, when i read it I thought there could be three killers but then I relised that is too many for a mini, but most likly there are two small ones because of the two killings of course.

That's twice STD voted without an explanation. My guess is that the first was random, and the second was in retaliation. However, I don't really want to make assumptions so I'll just go with that STD has no reason to vote unless STD states otherwise.
