Whoever thinks grammar is not important, think again. Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.-

@AGM: are you scum or did you just not think through your idea at all before posting it?
Obvious flaw in AGM's idea: scum hinting at/claiming weaksauce roles in order to get the Ring. Also, town bowing out of Ring candidacy, overtly or otherwise, will both a.) result in a greater random chance of handing the Ring to scum and b.) give scum a convenient list of probable strong powers who they should kill. Right now all town should be voting to imbue themselves or no one at all, until someone proves themselves to be obvtown.
VOTE: Katy Who are you, and why didn't you confirm in-thread like everyone else?

This makes sense to me. I think that the Ring should go to the towniest player; basically work it much like the Smashball/townvote mechanic in Super Smash Bros. Mafia. It is possible that it's better for someone to use their power, rather than their superpower, on a specific night, but I think it will likely be circumstantial. That's a "cross that bridge when we come to it" situation, in my opinion.esurio wrote: Obvious flaw in AGM's idea: scum hinting at/claiming weaksauce roles in order to get the Ring. @Esurio - the latter. still, though, I think there needs to be some calculated method to the madness.
@quadz08 - it doesn't work like the person doesn't get NK immunity (as far as I can see). That was my first thought when I saw the ring thing: why the hell wouldn't the scum just nightkill who got the ring?-

This is going to be like that scene in Pirates 3 where everyone votes to imbue themselves, then Jack comes in and throws them all into a tizzy.Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

No, he's just following the bitchy little trend of "the only person you can trust is yourself" bullshit. Here's a hint: IF YOU DONT TRUST ANYBODY THEN DONT VOTEsingersigner wrote:Meh, actually I <3 quadz.imbue: quadz
He wouldn't vote for himself unless he was confident that what he had would be more beneficial to town in the more immediate than long run.-

But Andrius took my request for linkage as a sign of life and let me be confirmed by that because he is a super cool guy.
Voting for Edge (or Gandalf, for that matter) is so last year.
VOTE: Mariyta for taking the easy way out right at the start.-

I mostly agree with Esurio regarding Imbuing. What we want most is keeping the Ring out of scum hands. What I disagree about - and with Gandalf also, it seems - is the idea that Town shouldn't be voting to Imbue anyone but themselves until we get our hands on on obv-Townie/only vote to Imbue someone you trust, and if you don't, don't vote to Imbue. We should be so lucky that people agree that well on such a thing, but I digress - Imbuing before we have concrete information is no worse than voting before we have concrete information. The so-called Random Voting Stage is generally a useful mine of information/moving on from randomness, and I see no reason that Imbue votes shouldn't be used in a similar way. There's about as little risk that a random/early Imbue-wagon will get hammered prematurely, and the benefits if that were to happen make for a decent trade-off anyway (just like super-early wagons, as a general rule). In the long run, yes, you should be voting to Imbue whoever you trust most (besides yourself, for all but one player). In the short term? Imbue at will.
In that vein:
VOTE: Mariyta for voting someone other than AMG while noting, with implicit disapproval (or if not, major ambiguity) that AMG was attempting to lead the Town. As if that's necessarily a bad thing.
Imbue: Edge. Confirmation stage looked Townie as hell. And considering that Town = hell, that's a pretty good sign.
PREVIEW EDIT: Yo Katy!-

Quadz self-imbuing WHILE mentioning SSBM is WRONG FALSE.
Everyone in htat game Town-Voted me and things went RIGHT, him self-voting makes no sense, he's not that arrogant or confident about his ability as town (nor should he even THINk he has a chance in hell of getting the power)True strength is found at the edge of sanity.-

I was pretty much just following esurio's strategy with the self-imbuing. I am far from arrogant about my abilities, though I certainly appreciate singer's confidence in me.
I do find it odd that the wearer of the Ring doesn't seem to be protected in any way from an NK, but I don't really see any point to speculating about it.
As to the SSBB similarities: as far as I can tell, the only difference between the smashball and the ring is the no-NK clause on the smashball.
Mod: the Daybreak scene says that it takes 7 to imbue, while the rules say it just requires a plurality. Can you correct whichever is wrong, please?
Whoops, Rules are incorrect. I intended it to be like voting, so. I'll fix that. Its 7 to lynch and 7 to Imbue. -AndyLast edited by Andrius on Thu Jan 27, 2011 6:53 pm, edited 1 time in total.Current Avatar: Kronk. Duh.-

Now, if you spent as much time with him as I did, and actually felt like you could read him, then I might just believe you. However, because you're wrong (OH NO I DISAGREED WITH YOU WHATEVER SHALL I DO), I'd rather prefer it if someone I trusted had this power. kthx.Edge wrote:

On what basis are you making this claim, and why?gandalf wrote:Flavorwise, it's probable that scum do not have superpowers. Just sayin.
Barely, and there was no causative relationship. As I recall, you smashed town and then obsessed after taking town-me down for being apathetic about the game and "obv bussing" scum-diddin when I was, in fact, not. <.<edge wrote:Everyone in htat game Town-Voted me and things went RIGHT
Not joining the Mariyta mini-wagon. Last time I remember seeing someone get accused of trying to direct the town, the accuser was 100% right but got shouted down for it, leaving the scum to direct the town into a horrible loss.-

While I am down with super powers MY super power would be one I'd prefer to have later versus earlier because of SECRET REASONS.
So I'll take it but I'd rather have someone awesomer early on to give it to.
HOWEVER:
Vote and Imbue? Check.VOTE: Edge
Imbue: Edge
The thing that makes this different from SSBB is that the person who gets the superpower isn't held accountable.
Flavorwise, it's probable that scum do not have superpowers. Just sayin.
Talking about lack of accountability IN A POST WHERE YOU IMBUE SOMEONE? Check.
Saying that 'flavor' would mean the ONE RING DOESNT DO THINGS TO EVERYONE? Wooosh Check.
(and, yes, I am a bit flummoxed at you MR EDGE but doing that NOW is so town that we can discuss this at a later date).
Unvote, Vote: Gan
