I think a bottom-up mass-claim would be better tomorrow. I think having results as well as draft picks to catch players out outbalances the possible negative of not knowing what a vanilla claimed.

I'm opposed to a mass claim (ugh, I hate even saying the words) because I don't know what you guys intend to do with the setup. Sure, you could lock scum into their claims, but it's less useful in this game than it is in other games because any role can be scum. A normal massclaim that forces someone to say cop, it's not likely they're a cop AND a scum, but in this case their role is almost irrelevent to their alignment.

Plus there's some terrible logic around about town not choosing the pro-scum roles.

Every vanilla claim (and there have already been a couple of reckless ones) give the scum someone to not aim at at night FOR NO GAIN.

Sell me about the gain, and I'll support a mass claim, until then it's a bad idea.

I agree with most of this post, except that I kind of see why soras is being wagoned. I just don't agree with it, he seems like town to me, 'specially since he's partly being wagoned for something I also did.

And that is not participating in the signup thread. Why didn't I? Well, a thing or two:

It's annoying to be expected to participate in a lot of pregame stuff that you'll be judged on later. When I signed up, Spyrex PMed with with my alignment, I sat at the computer for a minute thinking about draft numbers, then responded with a PM. I never changed them, or gave them much thought. Because they don't need it, in my opinion.

If we could get everyone to participate in pregame conversation like that, it would be useful. But it's not gonna happen, simply for reasons like my own: I signed up for a game, and I plan to play it. But I don't plan to play a game

before

it starts.

I think massclaim is good, today, or tomorrow. We lock scum into their claims early, we direct PRs to form networks and work together, probably clearing some, and possibly indicting others. I like it.

I don't like Parama's attitude to this game, but I like his views.

I don't like the way that manho is playing this game, not-really-paying-attention. He doesn't make a ton of sense, and goes back on his word (IIRC).

Would someone like to give a quick explanation of why Prana is town, if it comes from the Signup thread?

My apologies, been a busy weekend and won't really have time till tomorrow. Just really checking in.

Forcing someone so low to claim and basically setting up the statement of 'wait for his fake-claim' is stupid. It's pretty much site meta that VTs never get saved, and someone so low is very likely to be VT. This looks a lot like:

1: Start wagon to force claim
2: Get the entirely expected VT response
3: 'Well guys, he claimed VT and we never don't lynch VT'

Also, arguing against a mass-claim and for a singular claim on D1 is pretty rediculous. There's no way to tell from the claim whether they're scum or town, and noone would be stupid enough to fake-claim I think.

I totally agree with Hoopla, you guys failed miserably to try and logically 'break' the game in pre-game, with a strategy that at best got us a minor advantage, and was never going to go close to best.

Giving Parama town-cred for claiming VT on a role that only scum would use is silly btw. It's what a townie should do if they got nilla'd from it, but it doesn't preclude scum in any way.

i still don't get the point of massclaiming. scum don't need to fake claim, and they can take a "pro-town" role as it reduce the power of the town. and a townie can also take a "scummy" role such as a rediretor or vig, as they are too dangerous a role for the mafia team.

and i also don't see the reason for the wagon on me. parama has said something about my first 4 posts, but i've also explained them.
