Open 185: The Jailkeeper 9

Back in the Old West, criminals had a wide range of potential notoriety, from Jesse James and his gang through Bonnie and Clyde, all the way down to the now-obscure Jailkeeper 9, a set of vagabonds whose modus operandi was to lock the houses of their victims and steal their keys. They might have been more notable if they hadn't had issues with internal division...

Loot had never exactly been distributed evenly among the members, but the assumption had always been that everyone was okay with the way things were. Who got the most spoils tended to rotate, and they hadn't kept track of who got shafted which times. Until that fateful morning when one of them found a note on their pistol which read:

We've gotten the short end of the stick a few too many times. We want out, and we don't care what we have to do to get out.

There are two of us, and that's all you need to know.

When the group leader heard about this, he was furious. "All right, who did this? No one wants to admit it? Well, then we're gunna settle this the right way: we'll shoot the ones that wanna leave."

A manic grin crossed his face. "Starting now."

Rules:

1. This is a game. Play to win, but also to have fun.

5. You may PM me about anything you want. However, if it's something like

please post it in thread and bold it so that I see it.
6. If I feel one is needed, I will impose a deadline. At deadline, half of a majority will be required to lynch.

There will be no reduced number of votes in LyLo.

7. V/LA: If it's in-thread, I'll see it. If it's in your sig, I'll see it. If you send me a PM, I'll see it, and I'll post it in-thread. If it's in the V/LA thread, I'll probably miss it. If I don't know about it, it's your fault. If it's too long, I'll ask for you to find your own replacement.
8. Prods will go out after 72 hours without a post (unless I've been informed that the player is V/LA). The proddee will then have 60 hours to post in thread or they will be replaced. If you post before I get around to handing out the prod, you avoid the prod; similarly, if you return before I find a replacement, you can stay in the game. Prod #4 will equal replacement.
9. If enough players are voting for No Lynch to make any other majority impossible, the day will end in No Lynch.
10. When a lynch is reached, the game will enter twilight until I come to lock the thread.

All players alive during that day may talk during twilight.

11. Nights will last approximately 72 hours. However, if all night choices are in early, I will end night early.
12. If you die, stop posting. You are allowed one "bah" post provided it contains no game-related content (something like "Go town!" is acceptable; something like "My tracking results were X and Y" is not).
13. If, for whatever reason, I decide to edit your post, it will be in

blue bold

. Don't use that style.
14. Anything that would be illegal to actually do is also illegal to fake.
15. If I find that I've left something off, or that something needs clarification, I reserve the right to update these rules. I will tell you if/when that happens.

saber was never the brightest bulb in the tree (why on Earth would you commit a robbery in the Old West with a sword in the first place?). This little incident fit right into line. "Shooting stuff? OOH! Pickmepickmepickme!" He was even willing to grab the gun and pull the trigger on himself... God only knows why.

Once the remaining members got over the speed with which they'd killed him, they went to go see if they could find anything that might have suggested he wanted to leave. However, there was nothing they could find that indicated anything of the sort.

Normally, this would be the point at which I say "It is now Night 1. Night actions are due in 72 hours." ... except I've already gotten one recommendation to simply reboot the game without saber, and I'm strongly considering it.

I don't think it was ruined though. Odds were pretty good I got accidentally hammered, and I didn't fakeclaim any roles. It was as if we went through day 1 and mislynched anyways. I figured people would be smart enough to chase after at least one person on my BW if I created a vaccuum and didn't let them flip flop around.
