Done Moving
or
Out of Movement
COURTYARD
: The courtyard is a wide, walled expanse, covered in a light dusting of snow, with the manor house sitting right in the center. There is a POND on one side of the house and a GARDEN on the other. There is a great gate in the walls that surround the complex, with a GUARDHOUSE. The manor house may be entered through the front doors, which lead to the GREAT HALL, or through the accessway into the CELLAR.
GUARDHOUSE
: A small room with bunk beds for the two guards whose duty it used to be to keep this place safe. They didn't do such a hot job, obviously. One of them is dead in his bunk, a rotten corpse now. The other is nowhere to be found. From here you can reach the GUARDHOUSE ARMORY, but the door is locked. You may also go to the COURTYARD.
POND
: This pond is a lot bigger than it looked. Its surrounded by rushes and cattails, and there's an ISLAND out in the middle. The water is coated with a very thin layer of ice. From here you can go to the COURTYARD.
CELLAR
: This low ceilinged room is thick with cobwebs. The light from the accessway shines onto the door of the BOTTLERY. You can also go to the COURTYARD. While fully lit, you can see that the room is quite long, ending in solid stone walls and the locked door to the DUNGEON. Hanging in the center of the room from a meathook is what looks like the mutilated body of a guard. Nasty.
BOTTLERY
: The sweet smell of grapes and long, shining rows of aging wines. Whoever lived here had very good taste. The room is lit in a soft glow by a lantern hanging from the low ceiling. From here you can go to the CELLAR.
GREAT HALL
: This enormous room houses a long dining table, at the far end of which is a raised dais where the ruling family once sat for meals, lording over the common folk. The ceiling is vaulted, and colorful tapestries depicting ancient battles line the walls. The stairs along the back wall rise to the second floor MEZZANINE, and there is a door next to them leading to the THRONE ROOM. You may also exit the building, leading to the COURTYARD.
MEZZANINE
: This wide open hall overlooks the GREAT HALL below, and provides access to the LORD'S CHAMBER, the LADY'S CHAMBER, the LIBRARY and the CHAPEL.
THRONE ROOM
: Two rusted suits of armor stand on pedestals either side of the massive, empty throne. Behind the throne are the doors to the TREASURY and to the DUNGEON, both locked.
GARDEN
: My, what lovely floral arrangements! There is a great marble fountain in the center, though the water is frozen in this weather. From here you can enter the HEDGE MAZE or go to the COURTYARD.
ISLAND
: This small patch of land in the pond has a few ancient oaks, and in the center you can enter a gated private CEMETERY. There's a rowboat on the shore which could transport one person to the POND.
DUNGEON
: A long row of dark, locked cells, with various instruments of torture. From here you can reach the CELLAR or go up a flight of stairs to the THRONE ROOM, but both doors are locked.
LADY'S CHAMBER
: An opulent bedroom complete with the quintessential four-poster at its center. There are several freestanding wardrobes and a private writing desk underneath a huge window which overlooks the garden. The last remnants of daylight stream through it. From here you can go to the MEZZANINE.
CHAPEL
: In the center of this austere room is an altar, and hanging on the wall above it is a very severe looking carving of Jesus on the cross. The room is well lit by two large, expensive stained glass windows. From here you can go to the MEZZANINE.
