I agree with you that this is not ideal, but I still believe that we have to work with all the information that we have. Are you an advocate of people who replace into games having a clean slate? If so please link me to a game where you've advocated this. If not, explain to me what is different about this situation that we should disregard information, even if it is weak.EK wrote:can't have a discussion with you

I agree that replacements don't get clean slates. I think the point was that they aren't accussed as being scum solely on the fact that they got replaced. Ussually you have more to it, something the previous person did that lead you to this conclusion. Saying that they got replaced purely because they must be scum and not able to handle it is where you get into a uncommon area that leads to no evidence and only speculation.*insert bad joke here*-

Just looked at the posts since I last posted, and it's interesting that I have the most posts (112) in the thread.
I know it probably won't convince anybody of anything, but my activity site-wide (and in scumchat, and online in general) has dropped dramatically in the last couple of months. The only game I've posted regularly in is the one game with strict posting requirements.
There are a handful of factors which contributed to this -- the most prevelant one being that my meatworld life has gotten... well, "unbelievably hectic" would be putting it mildly. My next posts will go into catching up on and analyzing the game and trying to be a presence here. I'm not going to waste any more of your time throwing out excuses or explanations for my absence. My burden to bear, and I'm at least as upset with myself as any of you may be with me.-

Actually I usually do advocate giving replacements a chance. Not really a clean slate. I don't forget what happened before, but I do try to give the replacement a chance and base some of my accusations on the present player. I guess my thinking is that if a person is scum they're gonna give it away, so I'd rather look closely at the replacement to be sure. I'll link you to games if I have some time today -- which I probably will.Talitha wrote:

Sometimes I argue against a clean slate, but I think I'm usually scum there pushing a lynch. Maybe that's why I feel your comments are scummy. That's what I'd do as scum!
Also, on a meta note, in Crubtown mini, when you came up with the theory that QF would have killed Akonas early if she was scum and he was town -- I went along with it because I was scum and it served my purposes. In truth, I think it's a bad reason to lynch someone, evidence being Akonas' innocence. So when you came up with this new theory in this game about replacements being scum, it reminded me of your scummy scheming in Crubtown mini.
Does that make things any clearer?Talk nerdy to me.

Good grief. It still seems like basically everyone is a candidate. I have no reason to doubt my earlier impression of Elvis Knits and Logicitus so those would be pretty much the only players I wouldn't vote for at a deadline. Talitha seems a little better also, though she's still not really doing much active scum-hunting.
Glork and Coron's posting has been non-existant. DGB's posting has been a joke. Both the replacements deserve looking at based mostly on the acts of their predecessors.
Adel is kind of the wild card. She's posting though, so I don't see myself voting for her at this time either.
Glork or Coron. Then Nonny. Then DGB. Then Werebear. Then Adel. Then Talitha. Then Logiticus. Then Elvis Knits. That's probably my rough and not especially well informed order right now.-

i think it is informative to read all posts by logicticus in isolation.
Where does he get the idea that he is an active player?-

would you be in the half that are active enough to avoid your proposed (jokingly) modkill of the inactive 50%?logicticus wrote:I almost just want to mod kill half the players so the active ones can at least continue on in some semblance of a game.-
