good stuff. I exect Nightcow to end the day as is, and to see the "Scum Wins" appear in the title.
I'm still claiming a town win for myself though.

Nightcow has PM'ed me saying he's ready to end the day. With that,
BabyJesus the townie is lynched.

"Hey Nightcow, that sure is a nice pile of money you got left there," Vaughn says, raising his pistol. "Ought to be enough to buy you a super-deluxe, mahogany, silk-lined coffin."

*blam*

Nightcow the mason is endgamed.

Game over. Mafia wins!

Congratulations, Vaughn, VisMaior, Cogito Ergo Sum, and logicticus.

Thanks for playing everyone.

'Twere a good gambit. I figured out as soon as I was lynched - Night "protections" = where the doctor claim probably came from.

Had I not been on the chopping block, I might have divined this out. :ptts:

But, oh well... it was a fun game! Thanks, Speedy!

What a dumbass. Gee, 2 guys left, I'll lynch the one who has helped nail all the scum, rather then the "doc" who never dies. No wonder you never win, you really suck at this.

Oh yeah, let me explain that protection business. At the start of day 3, each mafia member gained a new ability. I sent the following message to each of them:
The PM wrote:Starting today, each member of the mafia gains this new ability: Once each day, you may choose to "offer protection" to another player. You PM me the name of a player and a money amount. I will PM them asking if they want to buy protection for that amount. If they choose to buy protection, they lose that much money (it just goes away) and they may not be killed by the mafia the next night - you will have to choose somebody else.

If more than one mafia member offers protection to the same person, that person needs only accept one offer to be safe. You may offer protection to other scums as a ruse, and they may accept it.

You still can't talk with your mafia-mates during the day, so for today, you'll each have to decide independently. You can send me your choice any time, and you can of course choose not to use this ability.

Unbelievable, seriously.

Great job Vaughn. Stepping in as a replacement of a claimed doc and winning is amazing. I thought you were done from the beginning, but you managed to do some smooth talking to win this for the scum.

Spectacular game vaughn.

Victoire!

Nightcow, I think you played a good game. The list of 5 you made included all 4 scum. You only made one real mistake and that was trusting Vaughn in the end. Don't feel bad.

In the end the protection was pretty meaningless and it had little to do with either docs or alignment of the player. I'm not sure what decision I would've made in such a situation.

BJ, claiming a town win for yourself is stupid. Several people went after the scum, I hardly hold you responsible for either of the three lynches. You played stupidly for most of the game, refusing to spend your cash for no reason. And I sure don't know about the back-up doc comment. Be mature and accept the loss.

Anyway, the reason why I went after Vaughn was because the mafia was in pretty bad shape. All 4 of us were under real suspicion. I felt like drastic actions were necessary, so I decided to play a little gambit, hinting at being the real doc and hoping it would get me somewhere. It didn't work as planned, but it did allow for Vaughn's non-death those first couple of nights to have an explanation. I'd certainly do it again.

Don't be so tough on the guy, Mafia played a nasty double-gambit.

Hard to see that stuff coming. :(

Yeah we all did pile on him at the end when we were going down in hopes that it would clear him long enough to do damage.

I forgot about the NC post where he names all 4 scum. When I read that I knew it was gonna be tough from there. Good guy feeling NC, should have stayed with it.

I didn't realize that my will would have made Nightcow such a big player in the game. I just picked someone who I thought wouldn't be so trigger happy to spend money. Good game to read.

*sigh* interesting to read, but makes me want to avoid any game with BJ in it for the next few months. Perhaps if you didn't behave the way you do, people wouldn't be so inclined to kill you, BJ.

GG NightCow. Learn to trust your gut, it doesn't get swayed by gambits as often as you think.

Hey Now.... You can't blame him for trusting me, I'm awesome.

Now to explain why I offered you protection BJ. I offered it to you in hopes of draining all your funds, so I could kill off Nightcow and just outbid you and Fritzler.

However, Nightcow publically announcing that he would will his money to someone completely threw me for a loop, because Fritzler was most likely the recipient since he did offer up Vis on a silver platter that day.

Honestly, Stoofer's doctor claim is the luck of the draw. Who would've thought that there would be no doctors in the game.

and Sorry BJ, I was pulling most of endgame out of my ass, drawing relationships and making up fluff. I somehow convinced Nightcow, even though everything you said was spot-on. Heheh.

At one point, I even thought I was the real doctor, and I PM'ed Speedy for my night choices Day 1/2. Speedy was like " 0.o You're not a doctor".

Thanks for the game all.

Oh, and I'm not 100% sure, but I think I threw the "95% sure of backup doc" comment out there since I was a townie to try and draw the scum to attack me. So long ago I'm not totally sure though, it WAS two months ago.

Yeah, that "95% sure of backup doc" worked in our favour, because you prevented the real doc from counter claiming me if there was one. As scum, we were trying to avoid lynching the doc, while taking out all the big money players.

It wasn't until Day 5 that we realized that there isn't another doctor, and so I was able to coast through to the endgame.

Fritz had me pegged since Day 5 or something I beleive, so he had to go, har har.

I'm sorry to say, but i was |<-this close to posting in the thread for NC to kill Vaughn... for some reason it just seemed obvious... but, w/e, hindsight is 20/20 or whatnot.

It was a pretty fun game though... sorry about getting you killed D_M. I've decided to wait next time, to make sure of my sanity before i reveal that i'm a cop.

GG all... Man, NC got a LOT of money... geez.

Who's getting what MVPs? NC gets the mafia MVP right... but who get's the town one? (jk NC)

Well played my mafia buddies, and especially Vaughn for taking over from me. Surviving to the end as a claimed doc!

Thanks for modding, Speedy.
