Scummies 2008 Nominations! (Deadline: 1/15)

I know it is a self nomination, but I'll throw this in for consideration. If people don't like it, just don't second/third/whatever it.

Nominate the Town of

DarkStalkers Mafia

for

Best Town Performance.

Town did absolutely everything right in that game.
- Day 1 the SK was lynched on a small slip he did when the SK cop claimed.
- Night 1, the JOAT managed to block the vig miskill which prevented the vig from becoming a second SK.
- Day 2, the two jailkeepers were forced to claim. The town entered a counter claim situation, but managed to leave it without lynching either of the two (which would be disastrous, for the lynched one would flip jailkeeper and the other one would promptly be lynched/vigged next). A mafioso was lynched.
- Night 2, the JOAT correctly investigated the second mafia.
- Day 3, discussion led the town to narrow the number of possible cult leaders to a small set. The survivor was lynched, but he was not a pro-town role anyway.
- Night 3, the jailkeeper correctly guessed and blocked the cult leader.
- Day 4, the cult leader was caught in a lie and lynched. The last remaining mafia was quickly lynched Day 5.

This is just an overview, the game is chock full with good discussion among the townies, and in the end no townie was lynched.

- and gambling page 1 and having it pay off big, even in a swingy setup like AITP, deserves credit where it's due. If the moderator had rolled a d20 and given Oman the name of a King if it came up 1, that'd be different...

I agree with Flay. That is why I nominated Oman. It was ballsy and as SK's go it was a good job by guessing correctly. If I had paid attention a bit more and let go of his guess I would have lynched him and still said Best SK for making everyone second guess him for awhile.

at any rate, the town did play well, though I feel it was mostly luck due to the CL and the a mafia member bumping heads.

The point anyone opposing Oman's nomination should raise (and I'm surprised no one hasn't) is that AITP in and of itself is a crapshoot anyways - it takes one mistake by town (which happened) to hand the game to the scum. Was it Oman's work that did this (note that he himself even agrees that the town basically overlooked his scumminess) or was it the setup combined with the ineffectiveness and lack of ability in the town?

Well I've come to a conclusion. Ballsy move or not, considering what Flay said I think I'll suport the nomination aswell. The work Oman put into the middle of the game setting up alot of lynches should be recognized.

His first serious vote of the game was on a werewolf.
He then lead a bandwagon on the other werewolf.
When that ran out of steam shy of a lynch, he then lead the lynch of one of the mafia.

First post of day 2, he votes for the remaining mafia while being suspicious of both the werewolves.
Was killed Night 2 for knowing way too much.

Hard to nominate for best protown since town lost, but roflcopter certainly had things totally figured out. If only the rest of the town had listened to him.

I second this. Much of the game was decided by night action resolutions early on rather then actual town play (CL targeted unrecruitable N1 and got them lynched, N2 got target got killed by mafia, either of those would have been pretty huge).
