Went to post 1 to see if I'd missed anyone else, and noticed that SquareKnight isn't posting because he's dead.

That's a good enough reason for me to

Assasin wrote:Seol, he was who I had in mind so thats good. Another person I had in mind was Thesp. Tell me who to ask, I don't trust myself so I will choose who you think is right. I trust you.
Some friendly advice: If you know you're pro-town, and you don't know whether Seol is pro-town, by all means, trust yourself first.

So we need to lynch someone, and fast. I don't especially prefer kwyjibo, but with the deadline tomorrow, I'll bandwagon.
Vote kwyjibo.

I'd like a roleclaim from kwyj, and I will formally
beg for a deadline exension.

Vote Count:

kwyjibo - 4 (dybeck, Seol, SpeedyKQ, Thesp)
Not Voting - 4 (Assasin, brushhopper, kwyjibo, Mr Stoofer)

With 8 alive, it will take 5 to lynch. And since I'm all too merciful of a mod,
the deadline is extended to five days from now
. You have Thesp, SpeedyKQ, and SpeedyKQ* to thank for this.

kwyjibo, you're the psychic? That doesn't fit the two-word pattern of the other roles we're aware of. I'm not buying it personally. I'm happy with my vote as is. However, I would also like to request that no one put a lynching vote on him until we hear from Mr Stoofer that he cannot confirm kwyjibo's story (the claimed night 2 block), and give everyone a chance to weigh in on this. (Now that we have an extension (thanks SpeedyKQ!), we can spend some time discussing it further as well.) However, if Mr Stoofer can affirm being blocked night 2, we have a new story. Also, Mr Stoofer (though you're probably aware of this), I don't believe further details of your role need to be divulged except for whether or not you can confirm kwyjibo here (which you may or may not be able to do regardless). I could be wrong, but at this point I trust your judgment in such a divulgence/witholding of information.

Does this sound suitable to everyone else?

I was roleblocked night 2, but kwyjibo could have worked that out from the fact that I didn't indicate a night 2 choice in my post 200.

However, my blocking took a particular form. If kwyjibo can specify this it would confirm his story.

This may turn out to the same question in a different form - but how does the role-blocker ability fit with the flavor of being a psychic?

Unvote: kwyjibo
.

It's still conceivable that kwyjibo is still not town-aligned, but is instead a mafia roleblocker, but I'm a heck of a lot more comfortable with him at the moment. (A mafia roleblocker in a game this size doesn't feel balanced, barring some serious counterbalances.)

The "who's next" question is the hard one.

Let me go through player claims and figure out what we know:

Assasin - Leader of happy friends club. Can invite people to talk with him at night. The ability is confirmed by Seol. Claimed ___-townie role before anybody else. Mostly but not completely cleared, IMO.

brushhopper - Claims to have an ability that he can optionally use - if he uses it he has a posting restriction "from being tired." Not cleared, but this would be a pretty sophisticated claim for a newbie, and I think it is more likely true than not. I'd rather look elsewhere at least for today.

dybeck - No claim yet

kwyjibo - Roleblocker. Confirmed by Mr. Stoofer.

Mr Stoofer - Protecting doctor-like role. Confirmed by kwyjibo. Stoofer and kwyjibo only confirming each other is a little troubling, but they should each be able to demonstrate their abilities to others tonight, so we should leave them alone for today.

Thesp (replacing Omniplex) - No claim yet

Seol - No claim yet

SpeedyKQ - I know I'm innocent, but for the rest of you, I've claimed my role ability is verifiable and nothing else.

So by process of elimination, we have dybeck, Thesp, and Seol (and me?) left. I'll be voting for one of you today.

With our doctor exposed and our cop dead, I think we should mass claim. Especially if the only people who don't have demonstrable roles are the mafia, and so far that pattern has held. Plus I'm sure all you mafia types have been thinking forever what you would claim, and you're probably DYING to share your creativity with us.

I am the Kung Fu Townie. Once a day, during the day, I can knock out a player who has voted for me. When they are knocked out their vote doesn't count and they can't talk for the rest of the day.

thanks for grouping up the claims...btw it would have been better off if we had set up a random claim order, but the good thing about your role is that it can be easily tested...

OK, so how do we do this now? I'm happy to claim, but I suspect a random order would be a good idea - or for a simpler way of achieveing a non-biased order, we have one of our confirmed townies nominate someone, then as people claim the claimant nominates the next person to claim. I've seen it done that way a number of times, and it seems pretty immune to rigging and/or corruption.

Those yet to claim are myself, Thesp, dybeck and brushhopper (from whom we have a partial claim at best). I propose that either Stoofer or Kwyjibo picks someone to start the process.

By the way, Speedy:
SpeedyKQ wrote:Especially if the only people who don't have demonstrable roles are the mafia, and so far that pattern has held.
Would you expect that mathcam (tracker) or BlueSin (who appears to have been either a cop or a thief) would have "demonstrable roles"? Perhaps it's just more likely that the demonstrable roles have come out because they can be effectively used as a defence, or because they happened to belong to people who were under suspicion? Just to let you know, you're making an invalid assumption here.

Not that I'm doubting you - although I think it's probably wise to have you confirm your ability at some point today, the chances you could get away with that claim if you are lying are slim to say the least.

For what it's worth, I'd like to say that I disagree with the mass claim idea.

However,

I am the snooping townie. Every night I pick somebody's house and I can tell the comings and goings.

Night 1 - Assassin stayed home.
Night 2 - Thesp went out.

Both can confirm that I speak the truth in respect to them. Additionally, I know that nobody targeted either of them, at least not in their homes. And those of you with night choices will be able to confirm that.

I'm skeptical about Speedy's claim. Kung Fu townie? I'm willing to take the knockout punch to confirm him, but I think we'd be better off with a confirmed innocent taking it. I think he's gambling that nobody will want to take a punch to confirm.

Brushhopper - a claim, if you will?

Well, kwyjibo, Seol, Mr. Stoofer, and dybeck all seem willing to go along with the claim idea since I proposed it. With the deadline approaching, I think that ought to be enough consensus to move forward.

Unvote kwyjibo.
I just noticed that my vote was still on him.

With 8 alive, it will take 5 to lynch. You guys didn't really need a votecount, but well, I thought you needed a reminder that
the deadline is in just over 36 hours
. There will be a no lynch at the deadline if there are not enough votes to lynch anyone by then.

I’m going away on Saturday 30th April for about 10 days. I’m hoping to be able to get some net access during this time but I can’t guarantee it. I hope this doesn’t mean I have to be replaced (but I’ll understand if it does).

I am sorry if this causes any problems.

[I was expecting that I'd be dead in all my games by the time this rolled around. :? ]
