Sorry I haven't posted, I've been busy.

I haven't noticed anything thus far but I'll reread tommorow and post again.

I'm definitly not for randomly picking two people

but if posting doesn't pick up there might be no other option.

I think it's been discussed to play this like regular mafia but with shorter deadlines we do need to be more active. How would you suggest choose our candidates each day?

When I get the time later today I will fix my vote thing and re-read the rules. My OMGUS vote wasn't meant to come out like that! Just the way he said "because I can" and me thinking the vote meant nothing, my reply was a (bad) joke!

Like with any mafia game, it's pretty hard to pick someone to lynch on day one because there's so little to go on. All you can really do is look at someone's voting patterns (lurking, votehopping, etc.) and make a fairly random decision based on that. I haven't seen anything today that I'd consider to be scummy behavior, so I want to withhold from making any kind of finger-pointing kind of arguments at the moment.

1600 EDT... so I have to have them by 2 pm Mountain time... I will probably be submitting my choices by Midnight on Saturday (Mountain Time again).

There is really little to go on, all votes are just random. So I don't nominate anyone unless someone majorly slips up!

Ryan I will probably end up choosing the two people with the most nominations on them, even if they don't have a majority of the town nominating them, or two people who are blatantly lurking.

DoS: See that's exactly why I'm considering changing my vote. I mean it's not fair to vote somebody who's participating when we have lurkers.

I understand that viewpoint very well, and agree with it in this type of game.

My problem is I NEVER vote lurkers in regular mafia, usually I'd ask they be replaced, but in this setup it's almost the way to do it. At least if a lurker and somebody who's playing are matched up as two nominees it will force the lurker to defend themselves.

I agree with you. I don't vote lurkers in normal mafia either. But with time constraints and the such we don't have much of a choice here.

Indeed. The nominations are very important (because they help voting records alliance and may eventually point the way to scum, just as votes can), but they are merely advisory.

trabony: He doesn't give a reason for nominating you, but if you look back you actually used the term vote, which if pablito hadn't decided not to count votes until after the nominations you'd be stuck with a vote for ChaosOmega. The second point is that your vote on Chaos is an OMGUS vote. Third, post 118 is your 5th total post of the game, including your /confirm post.

Indeed. Actually, your last one (the lurking thing) wasn't on my radar, since this game has a weird posting pattern anyway, especially given the unconventional Day 0. In general, I thought it was pretty obvious, and given a plethora of reasons for voting someone, I think the fact of a vote is actually more significant than the stated reason; if people -need- a reason because they can't see one on their own, it might be useful, but I like to think that when things are obvious enough, it's not really necessary.

Because what information would we get if the two lurker noms didn post, what new information have we gotten? None, I'd just rather avoid that scenario.

By posting two people who haven't done ANYTHING makes the chances of learning anything very remote. I seletected somebody who hasn't done much of anything (Pug) and somebody who's posted quite a bit. Why is that a weird reason? Two people who don't post anything isn't going to tell the game anything. At least with somebody active (you) against somebody inactive that could possibly get him posting and than we'll have some actual information. I didn't realize my concept was that difficult to understand.

In the end it's up to the HOH to decide nominations so I think people should post their opinions on who should be nominated and the HOH should take that under advisement.

Another thing to consider is that because of the unconventional Day 0 some players did not post much then while others posted a lot on D0 but little of it was actually relevent to the game so I think it's more important to look at the actual content of the post than just the number of post a person makes.

Just a really wild theory but ryan's whole "here is a list of lurkers/non lurkers" action, just after discussions about voting out lurkers make it look like ryan is trying desperatly to create a reson to save himself. In otherwords it seems like he is saying "look at how many times i posted don't vote for me!"

As well, the "im voting for someone who has posted alot" vote seems like he is trying to cover this up.
