I think it's been discussed to play this like regular mafia but with shorter deadlines we do need to be more active. How would you suggest choose our candidates each day?Pug89 wrote:Sorry I haven't posted, I've been busy.
I haven't noticed anything thus far but I'll reread tommorow and post again.I'm definitly not for randomly picking two peoplebut if posting doesn't pick up there might be no other option. Please remove your head from your ass before you vote.-

Like with any mafia game, it's pretty hard to pick someone to lynch on day one because there's so little to go on. All you can really do is look at someone's voting patterns (lurking, votehopping, etc.) and make a fairly random decision based on that. I haven't seen anything today that I'd consider to be scummy behavior, so I want to withhold from making any kind of finger-pointing kind of arguments at the moment.
Jus' sayin'...-

Okay i didn't intentionally do anything wrong, I meant nominate: chaosomega, but am used to saying vote:.
But really, don't these nominations mean nothing except to give STD (te he) an idea of what people are thinking?
So em,unvote: chaosomegain the event that he gets nominated and my vote ends up counting since votes can't be undone during that time.
There is really little to go on, all votes are just random. So I don't nominate anyone unless someone majorly slips up!-

My problem is I NEVER vote lurkers in regular mafia, usually I'd ask they be replaced, but in this setup it's almost the way to do it. At least if a lurker and somebody who's playing are matched up as two nominees it will force the lurker to defend themselves. Please remove your head from your ass before you vote.-

Indeed. The nominations are very important (because they help voting records alliance and may eventually point the way to scum, just as votes can), but they are merely advisory.Vel-Rahn Koon wrote:The nominations will only help in deciding who the HoH picks as the two people up for elimination at the end of Day 1.
Indeed. Actually, your last one (the lurking thing) wasn't on my radar, since this game has a weird posting pattern anyway, especially given the unconventional Day 0. In general, I thought it was pretty obvious, and given a plethora of reasons for voting someone, I think the fact of a vote is actually more significant than the stated reason; if people -need- a reason because they can't see one on their own, it might be useful, but I like to think that when things are obvious enough, it's not really necessary.Vel-Rahn Koon wrote: trabony: He doesn't give a reason for nominating you, but if you look back you actually used the term vote, which if pablito hadn't decided not to count votes until after the nominations you'd be stuck with a vote for ChaosOmega. The second point is that your vote on Chaos is an OMGUS vote. Third, post 118 is your 5th total post of the game, including your /confirm post.Did I say too much?-

Since we started the game these are post counts (up until this post) I didn't feel it would be fair to only add a tally mark if it was a meaningful post so anytime anyone posted this is what our count is

Obviously we have some non posters on this list. I'm going to Wrigley Field this weekend so I'll be gone. I'm going to repost my final answer (thank you Regis) on my two nominees later this afternoon. Please remove your head from your ass before you vote.-

I disagree to an extent of voting out lurkers.
I wouldn't mind one lurker, and somebody else as much.
Because what information would we get if the two lurker noms didn post, what new information have we gotten? None, I'd just rather avoid that scenario.ShowRumpelstiltskin Grinder

By posting two people who haven't done ANYTHING makes the chances of learning anything very remote. I seletected somebody who hasn't done much of anything (Pug) and somebody who's posted quite a bit. Why is that a weird reason? Two people who don't post anything isn't going to tell the game anything. At least with somebody active (you) against somebody inactive that could possibly get him posting and than we'll have some actual information. I didn't realize my concept was that difficult to understand. Please remove your head from your ass before you vote.-

In the end it's up to the HOH to decide nominations so I think people should post their opinions on who should be nominated and the HOH should take that under advisement.ryan wrote:I think it's been discussed to play this like regular mafia but with shorter deadlines we do need to be more active. How would you suggest choose our candidates each day?
Another thing to consider is that because of the unconventional Day 0 some players did not post much then while others posted a lot on D0 but little of it was actually relevent to the game so I think it's more important to look at the actual content of the post than just the number of post a person makes.People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss Whedon-

Just a really wild theory but ryan's whole "here is a list of lurkers/non lurkers" action, just after discussions about voting out lurkers make it look like ryan is trying desperatly to create a reson to save himself. In otherwords it seems like he is saying "look at how many times i posted don't vote for me!"
As well, the "im voting for someone who has posted alot" vote seems like he is trying to cover this up.
Just a wild theory!
