Here's a lockpick, it might be handy if you; the master of unlocking, take it with you
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?
also i got xenoblade 2 today, not super loving it so far? not that far tho
Individually? Sure. But to get enough for practical storage it would be like having many memory cards and I thought we left that horror behind in the 90s.
I'm not seeing those prices on a quick look through newegg but even if I grant that it's still a terrible price per gb in comparison to hard drives.
There was no reason to not allow other storage mediums to be used. The system has USB ports. It's just inexcusable.
Edit: Let's really put this into perspective. The Switch has the same amount of internal storage as the Wii U.
The same amount.
(Does that emphasize it enough?) The Wii U allows SD cards, flash drives, and hard drives to be used as external storage. How is the older system the more versatile one when it comes to storage?
Kind of? But it also feels weirdly clunky. Like the controls are strange to me. I just did the Broodal fight in the Woodland Kingdom and even though I knew exactly what I needed to do it was frustrating to accomplish.
I also hate how moons work. Like, when you start a level you're working towards "main quest" moons but you can find others along the way? The Super Mario Galaxy 1 way feels so much better compared to this.
Despite all this, it feels like I'm going through the levels really fast. Like my thing is obviously going to be a sphere and I've got like a quarter to a third done already?
The desert level was weirdly set up, I'm not really enthused to collect every single moon...maybe I spoiled myself with BotW but I'm surprised people think Odyssey was better than BotW.

(responding to spoiled text but no real spoilers): I totally agree. The game felt really clunky to me for the first... most of my time playing it. It still feels a bit clunky, but somewhat less so now, and I don't know how anyone would think it's better than BotW. It does kind of make me miss galaxy 1.
also agree. The redundancy (2 jump buttons, 2 throw buttons) and pseudo-redundancy (motion controls do this thing BUT SLIGHTLY BETTER and more awkwardly bc motion controls) feels really awkward.
The controls are just down to personal preference I guess (although I really found them great tbh) and the main story is undeniably short, lasting about 8-10 hours, with the longevity lying in trying to get all the moons (or at least as many as possible).
What I really don't get is your second point - can you explain why you hate it? You just sort of stated a thing without any reasoning and I really do not get at all how that's a negative. I really like it since it rewards me for looking around even while I'm doing the main story, and I would honestly find it really jarring to be thrown into an open level (some of which are big), full of secrets and clearly made to be explored, and then told that I can't explore it for 45 minutes because the game is going to railroad me onto a very linear main quest first. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the main quests, I just think I'd find it really irritating if the game didn't give me the freedom to explore and find things during them when the kingdoms are so clearly designed to be open and searchable. So yeh, could you explain why you hate the ability to collect the moons along the way?
PEdit - I get that, but also don't mind because the "redundancy" is designed so you don't have to move your fingers around the controller as much, which if you're trying to do certain fast jump combos (e.g. long jump-hat throw-leap and bounce off hat-hat throw-leap) is really helpful. I like my thumb being able to stay in place when I'm trying to play a game which sometimes requires fast reactions on jump or throw commands, otherwise I could end up finding it frustrating when I misclick etc.
Yeh I'm one of the ones who prefers it to BotW. They're both pretty close to each other but for a couple of reasons Mario Odyssey just about gets the edge for me.
I guess I just don't like the idea of super open-world Mario levels. Sometimes I've found that I'm not entirely sure I'm headed in the right direction. And then you find a moon and it's like, well, okay?
Maybe there's a utility for this later but I also miss something like SM64 or Super Mario Galaxy's level-select a lot. SM64 at least gave you a text hint as to what the star pertained to (in the DS version, a star on your minimap) and Galaxy had those nice level-opening cutscenes that gave you an idea of what you needed to do. With Odyssey so far, it's like "here are these main quest moons but there are also an assorted number of moons scattered throughout this level." I have no idea when I need to be done with a place. Like sure, I can get the requisite number of moons to move on, but am I really done? Probably not. The Toad that pops up after you complete the second main star is nice but I HATE that it's a 50-coin charge just to get a marker on your map. I'm pretty sure I just did that for Woodland and have no idea what his little marker is pointing to.
Also I don't really know if I want a combo-based mario? I have enough trouble nailing long jumps and such and now, maybe half the time i want to do the spinning hat throw I just throw normally. It just doesn't work for me.

If you talk to the bird that appears on the map it will give you this for up to three of a kingdom's moons at one time (which will also pair with the toad coord, if you have it).
And yeh, I get you I think. It's probably just a matter of different styles of games being enjoyed by different people, if that makes sense.
I've never been the biggest link fan, and I've played several link games. I'm a bigger Mario fan in general since I like platforming so I can see why people would like Mario Odyssey over Breath of the Wild.

there are certain moons that are literally hell (fucking jump-rope challenge and beach volleyball challenge and stupid fat seal race) and the special throws (spin throw etc.) can be a bit unresponsive at times, but otherwise it was definitely very enjoyable. I should finish it
