Oh, I'm not saying that's why the town lost. Just saying that that would make a more balanced setup, IMHO. And btw, part of the reason I believed you was because a one-shot lynchproof cult recruiter seemed like such a bad role, hehe.Mastermind of Sin wrote:
I wasn't lynch proof. You guys would've killed me on the second lynch. There's a big difference. Not to mention the fact that me actually having a lynch immunity didn't mean anything, since the town assumed I was telling the truth. Even if Flay hadn't included that in the setup, you guys still would've reacted to my claim the same. It wouldn't have changed the outcome.

I feel all warm and bubbly inside from this, but I assure you that´s not the case. In fact, this game was very difficult to win. It took a lot of effort to pull this off successfully. It may not look that way because of the fact that no cultists died, but there were a few points where things could´ve gone the wrong way and essentially ended the game for us. Failing to recruit Ecto during the curfew and then having Pooky and myself almost get lynched/vigged, respectively, that was a really scary time. I really enjoyed this game, and I am leaving for other reasons.Setael wrote:Don't worry, Cicero. I think Adel is mostly talking to me - and she's right, I have a bitter taste in my mouth.
Regardless of my minor quibbles, 'twas a fun game (thanks for modding, flay) and I agree that MoS and Pooky played an excellent game. MoS is completely unreadable imo - I think this is why he's leaving the site. There's no challenge in it anymore for himPermanent V/LA.-

I would like to congratulate the cult on their win. Never has a game frustrated me so much as this one. I think the lack of night kills was a brilliant strategic move. I'd like to think that I could take some credit for "catching" MoS as scum, but I would never have believed he could be an unlynchable recruiter.
I apologise for my lack of posting. The pacing of this game and my access threw me a bit of a curve and I never felt I was able to contribute too much.
This game has reinforced my dislike of Masonry. This is the first time that I have had a townie as my mason partner, but I never felt there was much useful discussion that I could have with BM at night - especially since I could never fully trust him.
Thanks for modding a very interesting game Mr. Flay. It was definitely an interesting setup and quite a challenge, but it never feels good to end a game feeling as dumb as I do now.
I still haven't played a game where MoS isn't scum. My initial vote still holds true-

I was wondering how long it would take you to show up, peej....
Interesting. Do you mean that all your other Masonries have had a scum partner?HackerHuck wrote:This game has reinforced my dislike of Masonry. Personally, I think that is the stupidest role ever. A Mason. A person whose power is that he knows his partner is innocent. Except when he isnt.....Mr. Flay wrote:I was wondering how long it would take you to show up, peej....

Masons need to strictly be two people who know they are innocent.
They need to come up with an entirely different name for two people who can talk at night, but have no clue of the other person alignment. How about Message Board buddies, or something, anything other than calling them Masons. Because they aren't. They are just two people who happen to talk at night.
I mentioned this before, but due to the use of Masons who dont know the others alignment, other mods who put in Masons are having the balance oftheirgame affected if they dont explicitly state "You can trust your partner 100% to be town". Otherwise, people always ask, "does it sayfor surethat you can trust your partner?". And of course if it doesnt, the argument goes that you cant trust them any more than any other townie, and then, as Hackerhuck says, what would you have to say to them?I have a degree in bullshit. I have patents on entire lines of bullshit. So don't sit here and feed me a line of bullshit and think that I'm not going to recognize it as one.

Yes, and it has definitely influenced my play as a mason. That game with MoS was also one of my first minis and now I have serious trust issues. I was also mason with scum-Twito in ChatMafia and one other game I had a scum partner.Mr. Flay wrote:I was wondering how long it would take you to show up, peej....

I like the role in theory, but my experiences as a mason have not been favorable.-

That's an anomalous result, and a reaction to the early behavior of Masons, which was always 100% mod-confirmed. I am hoping that the scum-Mason trend will die down to a more reasonable level, where it's a thought but not necessarily a liability (like any other claim, it should havesomedrawbacks).
Ecto: There's a whole other thread on Masons-that-aren't-Masons, and what to call them, somewhere in MD, but no one ever came up with anything that really caught on. I thought it was more recent than Sept. 07, but here's one: http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6231

Thanks Mr. Flay. I responded, and the name I came up with for people who can chat at night, but don't know alignments isBlogger. At night you can post your own Blog and read the Blog of other Bloggers. (Meaning you might just have 2 Bloggers, but you could have more.)I have a degree in bullshit.
