I'm pretty sure that Lowell is scum, but I'm going to wait a little bit to vote for him, unless other people wish for me not to wait."Rolefishing is fishing for someones role. It's called fishing because it requires subtlety. When you grab a shotgun and start firing into the water, thats not fishing." - IH-

I dont get it.Skruffs wrote:Well, we could start forcing suspicous players to quote their prophecies, in a 'trial by water' scenario... Would be a great way to get some extra lynches in without allowing the mafia or vig to kill more pro-town players...
claiming (and fake claiming) prophecies = modkill = free lynches, yes, I get that part.
What is "trial by water" and how do we force people to claim prophecy?AlyG: If he's not a joke account then what is he? He starts bandwagons on himself and insults other people.-

a trial by water is from back in the witch days. A woman suspected of being a witch would be dunked underwater (or something) and if they sunk, they were a real woman and thus were 'good', but if they floated, they were a witch, and thus would be killed in another way. That was the 'easy way' for a man to get a divorce, back then. >.>
The morphology is similar here; if someone claims a prophecy and doesn't get modkilled, they are a witch and so we lynch them.-

skruffs, I hate to say it, but that will not work.
Just because they haven't been modkilled doesn't mean anything. They could very well just have their prediction become invalid rather than get modkilled, and you would end up lynching someone who was town.JD wrote:1.) Do NOT, under ANY circumstance, claim (or fakeclaim) what predictions you have made. This is to prevent people from (example) lynching someone because half the people have predicted their lynch.Breaking this rule will result in said predictions becoming invalid. If the prophecy has been fulfilled/nullified, claiming it will result in a modkill.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

Skruffs, as I read it, it's either/or, not a guaranteed modkill.
I have a town read on you so I'm not sure why you would want to quote your prophecies and be modkilled anyway."Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."-

I am completely against claiming prophecies, as not only is it against the spirit of the game, but then the mod has the right to screw with us as much as we want."Rolefishing is fishing for someones role. Agreed. While the idea of deaths without nights is tempting, it's not how this game should be played.Iammars wrote:I am completely against claiming prophecies, as not only is it against the spirit of the game, but then the mod has the right to screw with us as much as we want.I will not assume everyone with blue eyes has Mako poisoning

I was V/LA due to SSBB and a multitude of other video games. My 'Ooh, Shiney!' factor kicked in a lot (in related news, I finally beat Portal). When I did read through, I simply saw nothing worth commenting on. The modkill idea seemed to me like it would burn itself out, and every second on MS was a second not destroying GLaDOS/Tabuu/Sephiroth/Rival Bands/Alliance.I will not assume everyone with blue eyes has Mako poisoning

BZZZZZT. You're posting, so post something of substance, not "I'll post my thoughts later." It's always scummy when people do that.Lowell wrote:I promise I can give thoughts on this game. Just not right now.jdodge1019: hasjghsalghsakljghs is from vermont

If there are points I haven't addressed, I don't remember seeing them.Skruffs wrote:Gorrad:
