So, what's the plan? Sitting around with our votes on lurkers seems like it will probably draw out scum, though it doesn't exactly lead to an exciting game.

Well, there are mod prods out, so we'll either have those players here or have them replaced shortly. Then the lurker-wagons become normal information-wagons.

You know, we can still play the game and wait for the lurkers at the same time. Much of the reason this day has been so slow is because everyone, particularly Yaw, are content to sit around and wait for lurkers instead of hunt scum.

Yaw seems a likely active scum member. I don't really see why he unvoted jediknight, except to put a spot light on lurkers, which wasn't needed. We found scum, and everyone knew it. Even if the lurkers did unlurk, what would've then done but vote jedi?

Further, early day 2, Yaw strongly implies our scum are lurkers, except Korias.
Yaw wrote:I strongly suspect some of our lurkers are scum, and will be looking there next.
And then, the first post of day 3, what does Yaw do?
Yaw wrote:

Time for the lurker wagons.
I understand looking hard at lurkers, but this is ridiculus. Yaw seems to be so concered with going after lurkers (in mid-game, no less) that he's willing to ignore any active scum. This goes far beyond 42's single post; Yaw's been doing it the entire game. And now, it looks like he's convinced much the of the town to do the same.

Well, im not changing my vote. I will leave it up to everyone else now.

Mike, how about daily eye pokes, AIM harrassment and email stalking on the lurkers?

AIM harassment and e-mail stalking is a bad idea. If they don't look at the game, what guarantee they'll look at the death threats?

I am fine with voting Yaw if needed, but I will continue to follow IS's lead for now.
I think it's pretty clear that TSS's awesomeness did alter the roles each of us recieved, and thus he's obviously pro-town. -- Save The Dragons

I'm not ignoring active scum. I'm still looking for evidence in players' posts. It's just that the evidence right now points to a significant number of scum being inactive. Would you prefer we let them go through another day without any pressure, CoolBot? When exactly is it acceptable to you to go after the scum that aren't active? What's the big difference in lynching active or inactive scum? In my opinion,
any
lynch of scum is good for the town.

I would much rather have activity and catch the scum similar to how I got Korais. But since we don't have activity, we need to get the lurkers here so they can generate posts and we can determine if they're scum or not.

Besides, I
have
enough evidence against Djinn to justify a vote. He's lurking, and steadfastly refused to participate day 1 in any way. That's certainly enough to warrant suspicion.

Personally, I would much rather lynch inactive anything over active people. This is merely because I'm getting somewhat frustrated with how slow many of the games are moving. Easiest way to solve that is have fewer games so people focus more, but failing that killing anyone that isn't active works as well. They aren't helping the town by their lack of participation, so in some ways they are just as bad as any scum.

So, that's why I'm willing to follow Yaw for the moment and give my first target a small break.

Also, how long are the prodees getting to respond before replacements get called in?

First, vote count please?

Second, in the interest of completeness, Quailman posted this in the Free Market Queue:
Quailman wrote:indentureddjinn started band camp Monday the 16th, so don't expect to see him this week...
Of course he also hasn't posted since day 2, which was
well
before the 16th, and there's no explanation of that. I think there's enough information there for a mod decision, at least for this case.

The problem, Yaw, isn't that you just casting a suspicous eye at lurkers; you're
obsessed
with them. Since day 1, you've been pounding on them. And the first post of day 3, before anyone else has a chance to post, you decide on a lurker hunt. And you continued pounding on it until this game nearly ground on to a halt just to wait for lurkers.

Again, I understand the impulse of going after lurkers. But we shouldn't do so at the expense of looking at other players, which is what it seems many players were content to do so, and it looks like Yaw convinced everyone of doing it. And, as a point of fact, there is a difference between lurking scum and active scum; active scum send in night choices and influence day debate.

The problem, CoolBot, is that since there weren't any deaths last night, it's pretty clear that a lot of scum
aren't
sending in their night choices (while I do think there are docs out there, and potentially other roleblocking roles, I don't think there are enough of them or that they're good enough to block 3 to 4 kills). That's corroborated by the mod claim that there were a depressing number of night choices. While you seem content to have this game get to a point where our ability to lynch scum is hampered by too many inactives, I am not.

In addition, I catch scum by what they've posted. If people aren't posting, I can't catch scum. So I see going after lurkers at this point as necessary. When exactly were you planning to get the lurker issue resolved, CoolBot? Were you content to just let them ride the game out? Perhaps you think we should be determining which of the lurkers are scum through psychic powers instead of lynch pressure?

I am starting to see IS's point.
