Phew! I hope I got all that number crunching right - or at least right enough so as to get the correct result. I would be very grateful if you could check it yourself and tell me if you agree.

Well done to the Mafia and in particular Skruffs; they won because he got into the final two, as simple as that. I really think that the Mafia ought to win this game, so kudos must go to the Town for making the Mafia fight all the way to the last ballot for their win.

I hoped you all enjoyed the game.

Opie won, I was second :(

Gratz scum, you played well.

Very interesting game Stoofer. I just feel like there needs to be more for the town, I wouldn't be suprised if you got a large scum win % from these games.

Yes, I agree that opie wins the "Best Scumhunter" prize for this game; although Yosarian2 get an honourable mention for putting Skruffs in at #4. Apart from those two, no-one had him in their top half.

I also agree that the game is very much the Mafia's to lose. I think you have to have "Open" ballots as we did for this game to work, in which case I think a 9/3 setup is about right. 10/2 would be too hard for the Mafia. I'm not sure what else you could do to balance the game (especially if you want to comply with Stoofer's 4th Law).

No powerroles, definatly.

Umm...10/2 allows too much reward for near random voting.

How about standard mountainous: 9/2. Oh..no NKs, meaning...8/2 maybe?

That was interesting, I'm glad I asked for replacement - mafia wouldn't have had a chance with me.

So were skruff's simulations deliberately wrong?

The first simulation was not deliberately wrong, i really didn't understand how ties would behandled;
the second run used alist i never actually submited so the results were not reliable, and later ones i never published because it would have been obvious i was adjusting them just to benefit myself and wasn't based on scum hunting..

also sarc scared me, he was putting me low down but his votes on yosarian prevented us from being able to bulk up on other more dangerous townies...
oh well.. :) i wish i hadn't been as hectic as i was, the sporadic posting wasn't exactly fair to either side.

I had seriously considered switching opie and Skruffs. I wish I had - it was so close! :(

Well done, scum. I had even considered moving Sarcastro down some there at the end.

I really wish that Shy Guy's analysis of the voting had never happened - I wonder how the game would have turned out. Sorry I was wrong about you, Shy Guy & Yosarian2.

That said, I hated the game itself. I'm glad I tried it, but I despised not getting any lynch information throughout the game. Thanks for running the game, Stoofer - this isn't an indictment on your modding skills, but rather on no-reveal games (of which this is a special subset).

I'm intrigued that the mafia didn't block their votes at all, and were rather scattershot.

Thanks, everyone, for the game.

Good game scum.

FU to town for trusting Sarcastro.
I have a degree in bullshit. I have patents on entire lines of bullshit. So don't sit here and feed me a line of bullshit and think that I'm not going to recognize it as one.

Yes. I think it was a worthwhile experiment, but it is indeed a form of no-reveal game and I don't like such games either. I wouldn't run this form of game again. But Methodical Mafia 1 was such a success that I couldn't resist trying this version.

Methodical Mafia 3?

If there is one a few ideas:

Maybe have a new list every 3 days, but only 5 days to change if they wish to
Serial Killer with a kill, they may be much harder to find in a game like this but if they're the only party with a kill it would work

Indeed.

Well done scum. I was pretty much categorically wrong about who the scum were -- but then again I was right on Yosarian2 and opie.

I meant what I said about Thesp's and Ectomancer's switches, that was not me trying to townify OMGUS. I'll have to think about this game and see if I can modify my play so people don't, for reasons not understandable to me, suddenly decide me and the people I think are town are scum at the last minute of games.

I'm very disappointed with how the last couple of in real life days played out.

Sigh. Oh well. Well done scum. Skruffs and springlullaby had me completely fooled.
I won't say much.

For me, I felt you took a "we've got the game under control so nobody better mess it up or your scum" approach after the initial deadline hit, and that felt like disturbing fear-mongering to me. I started second guessing myself a lot after that. Alas! I wish I had been better able to articulate why VanDamien was town, that was the only thing I was really certain of this game.

So yea...once again, I failed at being scum in the methodical game, just like last time. But by about halfway through, I knew I was pretty much considered to be scum, and my goal was to just insure that skruffs would get in the final 2. I wasn't going to change my vote right away though, as putting him lower may give up his posistion there, so it was a steady gradual change, and I never got the opportunity to do so.

Yeah, I was pretty suspicious of Skruffs and Sarc. Nocmen had me fooled though. And it turns out I was wrong about Thesp (although, to be honest, I partly just wanted him lynched off early because I didn't like his list).

Bah. Good game, everyone. This is a good example of what happens when pro-town people get too paranoid with "OMG, why haven't the scum done X yet, I must now second guess everything I've thought all game!"

Yea, I was trying as hard as I could to get out of the hole that I dug myself for being so aggressive in the beginning, and it did fool some people I think. It was a gambit I took though, going and questioning many many actions, and everyone for that. But it was definitely one of my better games played.

Interesting fact - I did not talk to either of my scumbuddies at all during the day. I'm not sure if Nocmen and Skruffs ever spoke to each other, though.

To be honest, I feel like we won in the end by luck more than anything. I mean, any number of tiny voteshifts could have changed the game completely.

I have to say that several townies made it kind of easy on me. My arguments with Ecto and Shy Guy were completely real, and as far as I can judge, I would have made them even had I been town. The same goes for my warnings about Yos.

That said, I of course have to give credit to Yos for figuring out I was scum by the end of the game. Of course, at that point I didn't care, because as long as he didn't think Skruffs was my partner, it didn't matter much.

Shy Guy, part of the reason that I got so frustrated with your constant questioning about VD was that you completely overlooked the fact that I had given absolutely
no
real reasons for why you, Skruffs, and Opie were pro-town. The whole time I just felt like telling you to ask me about Skruffs or Opie instead, but of course that wouldn't have been a great strategy.

Credit to my buddies, too, especially Skruffs.

I think that if something like this is run again, it should definitely include some night actions or other powers. As I told Yos, I would rather have played as an SK with a kill than part of a three-person mafia without one.
