I don't like the ambiguity of this. The result that "could go either way." Really not liking it.

Well put it this way, he didnt have any human contact last night. He didnt kill anyone. That doesn't clear him however it keeps me from suspecting him too majorly today.
Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.

On the subject of my guilt and innocence, this is an opportune time to quote the last line from my role pm (since Adel has said in rule 19 that we may quote anything we wish in this game):
Cicero's Role PM wrote: Other players will naturally fear and loath you -- they will not understand you --you are Anubis.
This makes me think I
may
be a miller.

Which one of these players shall we lynch, then?

Streeflo, Occult, QuantumFruit

No. I'm almost positive (maybe not entirely, but a pretty good idea) I know what you do and because of that, I feel like I should believe Poro.

Who I don't like anymore is DrippingGoofball, his (her? don't shoot me if I'm wrong about this) attack of poro followed by a reluctant, but weak change of targets feels scummy to me.

DrippingGoofball, always with the not thinkin' things through. ;-)

@Occult - I'll tell you this much: I
chose
not to target anyone last night. It wasn't because there was nothing I could do. I have more than one power, essentially.

@cicero: What is a miller's role?
--
And then, based on Egyptian mythology, do you guys think the Anubis role would have resurrecting capabilities? See, thing is, we don't know what is alliance is, or even if he has one, so I don't know whether it'd be advantageous for us. And then maybe because Anubis is a god associated with mummification and death, he just has this sort of tracker role where he knows what the dead are up to?

Anyone (including Porochaz) have clarification or any idea on this?
--

Mod, could you please clarify the wording of the following statements?
Adel wrote:
Cold Fairy and Aborted Elephant are now dead. They both prevented me from waking.

Xiao is now dead. He did not prevent me from waking.
Particularly the significance of "prevented me from" and "did not prevent me from". Is the implication that Cold Fairy and Aborted Elephant should not have prevented you from waking? Is the implication that Xiao failed to wake you? And then, would the implication be that they all wanted to wake you?

--
I really don't like DrippingGoofball's arbitrary "let's lynch" warhawk method, switching from an adamant denunciation of Porochaz. I find it very suspicious. So,
Major FOS: DrippingGoofball
.

Also, let's take a look at her role: "Soulless Writer." For one thing, connotatively, "soulless" would imply a lack of empathy, and hence perhaps a desire to leave Adel in her nightmare. Also, a writer would want new material and perhaps find the nightmare fascinating. So, conclusively, I'm not really sure whether I'm reading too much into flavor, but I thought it was something to consider.

dreams come... and get particular.
Cold Fairy and Aborted Elephant both kept me from waking, probably because I find them disturbing. Sparky and Xiao are much more normal for me, and they did not keep me from waking. Hello kitty.

I am confused.

I'm confused at why DrippingGoofball suddenly changed her suspicions from completely full blown suspecting porochaz and not believing his claim, to "Let's lynch Streeflo or QuantumFruit."

I'm confused at the little conversation going on between Occult and cicero.

Okay, this game has no vanilla roles right?

We win on the 8th day, and there are already four dead. Stands to reason there must be a resurrecting role somewhere.

We can quote anything in this game? Interesting... roleclaim might be a viable idea later.

Right now, excusing any confusing flavor and other weird roles, my scumdar is pinging for QF and cicero.

@Streetflo: I don't see how Occult and cicero are having any special little conversation. Occult said he was suspicious of DrippingGoofball and believes Porochaz. Porochaz claimed he was tracker of some sort and that he tracked cicero (finding him to have done nothing Night Phase). Cicero says he was right, but it's not that he couldn't have interacted with players in night phase, he just chose not to. That conversation?

As for your scumdar, please explain.
--
Adel wrote: Cold Fairy and Aborted Elephant both kept me from waking, probably because I find them disturbing. Sparky and Xiao are much more normal for me, and they did not keep me from waking. Hello kitty.
I think this implies Cold Fairy and Aborted Elephant are not scum, then, because it stands to reason that they died from failing. (Maybe not? Is there any other reason why they'd die?) Sparky dying was a bad thing (right?), so Sparky is probably of town affiliation. But Xiao - hmm...I see now why Porochaz thought the message through roffman was suspicious.
--
Correction:
I wrote: Anyone (including Porochaz) have clarification or any idea on this?
I did the whole "(including Porochaz)" bit because I thought he was the Anubis role for some reason.

Actually, stuff makes more sense now. Porochaz is a tracker of some sort, so he has some information we don't have or he saw why the message from Xiao was suspicious based on personal ingenuity. Cicero didn't act night 1 (assuming he has a role as a resurrector) because there was not anyone to resurrect yet - we don't know his alignment though.

Well - since the cat's out of the bag pretty much anyway:

yes folks. I'm a resurrector.

And just so you know, I am also, basically a vigilante. It goes like this. If I target someone alive there's a chance I'll kill em. Target someone dead there's a chance I'll bring em back. The word "accidentally" is in my role with respect to targetting someone alive though. So I pressed Adel on whether I was some kind of CPR doc and she wasnt too forthcoming. But it basically looks like a resurrector vig combo.

QF - a miller is someone who looks guilty to a cop investigation. The only reason I'd doubt being a miller is because I know Adel hates cops so I wouldnt be surprised if there's no cop in the game. And with no cop there's no miller. It might just be there because of the duality of my role.

As for my alignment, it'll be patently obvious by who I choose to raise and how I choose to play. I'm all for waking Adel up and will play that way. The people I resurrect will also want to wake Adel up.

PS. People who want to wake up Adel are town. People who want her trapped in her nightmare are scum. It ain't that hard, people. She just shoved the word "do" in there.

Let me see if I get this straight.

You're a resurrector of the dead, but you're also a vigilante for the living that kills at night. But to you, it sounded like a CPR doc so much that you had to ask the Mod if your role was "CPR doc."

Curiously, your powers may or may not work. I love that part.

And before you were a Miller, but there's no cop according your meta of the mod, so now you're not a miller anymore.

That's your story? Do you realize that it sounds like baloney?

Only to you, I think. Our roles (I think) are fairly unusual, and require figuring them out to some extent. Cicero's been thinking it through and posting.

You seem to assume other players are just ridiculously wrong, jump without much evidence, and then kinda withdraw with your tail between your legs when everyone agrees with them.

Do you realise you're in Adel's Nightmare?

My role PM wrote: Role PM

Role: You are anubis.

Win Condition: You do win if I wake up before the morning of the Eight day.

Alignment: You not prevent me from waking.

Night move: Each night you may PM me the name of a target player. If that player is dead, you may be able to bring them back to life. If another player sees you it will probably look to them like you are trying to suck your target's soul out through their breath. If your target is actually alive you may actually accidentally suck their soul out, leaving them extinguished and dead. Other players will naturally fear and loath you -- they will not understand you --you are Anubis.

Once the Night 1 deadline has expired, or I have received night moves from all players who have one, I will post an opening scene and open the game thread.
So here's the correspondence:
Adel replying wrote:Night move: Each night you
may
PM me the name of a target player.
If that player is dead
, you may be able to
bring them back to life.
If another player sees you it will probably look to them like you are trying to suck your target's soul out through their breath.
If your target is actually alive
you may actually accidentally suck their soul out, leaving them extinguished and dead. Other players will naturally fear and loath you -- they will not understand you --you are Anubis.
cicero emailing the mod wrote:Heya. I have my role PM but what do you mean by dead? Is my power to vig (percentage chance of success) and to resurrect?

Basically, someone gets lynched day one, can I resurrect them (% chance of success) at any time later in the game?

Or is this a quack doctor roll where "raise from the dead" means "doc protect", and, if they are not attacked, I may accidentally kill them?

Obviously I'm also a miller?
Then these two:
Adel wrote:I'm not trying to be snarky. The role PM you have is about as much information as I can give you, especially since you are not stupid. I can be more forthcoming in answers I post in the game thread.

cicero wrote::(

Why be snarky. I caught all the important phrases. (I'm a lawyer and not so stupid, really) I was wondering what level of poetry was at work in the language and whether it corresponded to more common mafia roles. In this game "dead" could have a specialised meaning. But given your answer am I correct if I assume that the words have their normal mafia meaning? so:

dead - means dead. Out of the game. In other words I can attempt to resurrect any player who has been removed from the game at any previous time.

If I target someone who is alive (still eligible to vote and post) there is a chance I will kill them.

The reason I flagged it is because of the term "accidentally". Under the above circumstances one would not normally cause an accidental death.

And am I a miller?
This rule 19 is fun.

/shrug. Be uncomfortable. The quotes are the real deal. The only thing to note is that the h is missing from the word eighth. And that appears to be on purpose or a mistake she fixed later. Check out Adel's post 2.

Check and see if the same mistake appears in each of yours.
