"Possibly imperfect" is a severe understatement of what's wrong with your example. You're attempting to make my statement look far worse than it is.

When I said that my original statement was "just hyperbole", I was contrasting that with your insinuation that I either had knowledge of opie and Matt_S' alignment(s) and/or was implying that I didn't have a power role. In other words, I'm not saying that I am 100% certain of this information (as you seemed to believe), I am merely using hyperbole to reinforce the fact that I am very confident in my opinion.

You should not take anything from my original statement other than that I strongly believe that Matt and opie are not both scum. I consider the possibility of Oman's lynch strategy coming to fruition so remote that I am willing to stake my (game) life on it. I can't think of a reason a townie would employ WIFOM like that, or restrict the roles they might possess by saying they'd be more valuable dead than alive.

If you were, say, a POWER ROLE, sure you would still be of a lot of use, even if your play was horrible. Your line of thinking and the solidity of the information you are revealing in responding to me right now isn't consistent with what I'd expect from a townie.

I'd have stuck with the opie wagon, but maybe your wagon is better right now. The way you tried to look helpful in diverting from the two wagons smelled bad to me. Your suspicions of others seemed to be not extremely well supported, and diversions to the main event. I'm not sure if I am happier wagoning opie than you because whatever opie's alignment is, you diverting from his/my wagon with kinda insubstantial cases hints at anti-town motives from you. If opie is your buddy, you'd love it if someone latched onto your two sentences cases and diverted attention away from him, and onto someone else. If opie is town, then you poke around on some townies and maybe a buddy, and are quite happy when he or I end up being lynched.

I'd normally hate to get another player to claim day one when the first has claimed vanilla... but you've already practically claimed vanilla.

I'm going to sleep on this, since you could just be a townie who played badly (shoot, I've played badly -- THIS game), but I might support an Erg0 wagon instead of the opie one. I'd hate to move a wagon from opie-scum to Erg0-town though, and that's what I need to think about.

I was going after the action of asking for more claims rather than Matt_S himself on that.

Expand on "not in that context". This is why I see fishing in Guardian's original post:

1. "Do you know one of them to be town?" is blatant fishing for a mason claim, since we didn't have a night 0 and I couldn't have an investigation result.

2. "Why are you pseudo-revealing that you aren't a power role?" is inviting a response which may inadvertently reveal something about my role.

Treating my comment as a pseudo-claim in the first place is baseless. Asking me questions about my role based on that is fishing, and Guardian's persistent conjecture on the subject is nothing but harmful to the town. I don't see how this is anything but black and white.

I have pretty much the same fear of letting Opie-scum escape whilst going after Erg0-town. I think 581 is entirely valid, and I think (personally) that you're a townie, because of your actions so far, but I could be wrong easily, which is why I'm not pushing for a claim.

5. Guardian has been scum in two of our previous games together, and I have a strong intuitive suspicion of him which is at least partially based upon experience.

And in either of those games, did you figure out I was scum? Also, in how many games in which I was town have you identified me as scum? Sharing a partial meta is more than slightly deceptive. In my experience, Adel is pretty inconsistent at determining my alignment.

For the record, Open 59, Daytalk, which just ended, was heavy on my mind when I posted this, since I was scum and Adel was town in that game and we were PM-ing and she was trying to collaborate with me to get a townie lynched.

Two tests in less than 24 hours. I should be studying .
