A) You should realize that it's usually pretty difficult to get two people online, looking at the same thread, and thinking the same thing at the exact same time in order to properly quicklynch. If they try to quicklynch and somebody sneaks in an unvote, both players are outed and the jig is up. As you can probably guess, it's even

more

difficult to coordinate a three-person quicklynch -- enough so that I don't think I've ever seen one proper. Which leads me to...

B) I'd say at least 80% of the time, a quicklynch is made possible by a triggerpost which usually follows about the exact form of the post you just made. Somebody mentions quicklynching, usually in an "X hasn't been quicklynched yet" post, or they say something like, "Hmm, I think I'm about ready to vote for X." It's a clear-cut signal to their scumbuddies that they want to go for it then and there. Since there are difficulties with getting a proper lynch, you would have had to slap down a vote instead of just stating your intent.

C) On a somewhat different note, you express how the scums quicklynch, but in case you haven't noticed, activity in this game in general is pretty low. You posted a mere 16 hours after I did, seemingly resigned to the fact that there hadn't been a quicklynch. Given that there are players from all over the world on this site (and indeed in this game)

and

that it's a weekend and posting around here is usually significantly diminished on weekends, I don't believe for a second that you honestly thought Andy was scum due to lack of a quicklynch.



I currently very strongly believe that the scumgroup is Patrick/Shanba/Crub. I won't be voting Andy at all today, given Crub's behavior.

I can hardly think straight now, and was mostly going to just say that I'm without any access at all from tomorrow until the 17th.

This recent stuff is interesting though. Crub posted his reasoning for voting Andy like 28 hours after Glork's 2nd vote. If Andy was town, I'd have been amazed to see the scumgroup pull off the lynch that quickly so Crub's reasoning there was obviously bunk.

Eh, well my instant reaction is that you voted me because Glork just told you to (at least, he told you to convince him to lynch me or Shanba).

I'll probably have more to say in the morning before I go, for now at least, nobody is in any sort of danger. I'd also be happy to see Crub present his cases, particular the one against me, mostly because I don't think he has one.

Both posts are appeal-to-emotionlike. Also, as I've said before I find posts with no content scummier, and this is isn't the first time Crub posts with little contribution

Also, i agree with Glork's 627. You've scaled in my scum ladder, enough to tie with Shanba. Still, I too, want you to state your cases before deciding further votes.

Andy, it's already been pointed out I'm appealing to emotion. It's something I do universally as town and scum, I don't really care if you lot think it makes me scum.

I've been following the thread. I just didn't want to interrupt if Crub was going to say anything else that would even further confirm my suspicions of him.

Andy may or may not be scum. I thought, previously, that he was the most certain bet. Right now though, looking at likely cross connections and Crub's recent statements, I guess I think the most likely scum team is Crub/Shanba/TSQ. I can see Patrick, sort of, in that (I think I've explained why but if it's not clear already I'll surely do so again on request) and my problem with Patrick in general is that I can only link him with Andy with any confidence. I don't see Patrick with Crub or Shanba really.

If we take Andycyca out of the equation (purely for argument's sake) then Shanba has the most likelihood for being scumbuddies with one of the others. I still don't find him scummiest in behaviour, but based on connections, I think he's most likely to be scum, because I think I can see the most teams that include Shanba at the moment. I'm not certain that this is a reasonable way to deduce who scum might be, but that's what I'm looking at right now.

I'm not going to vote yet, because I want to try to put these connections into some sort of coherent (to someone other than me) form and post them. I think lynching Shanba today gives us good links to his scumbuddies. I really WANT to lynch Crub because he seems scummiest to me.

Anyway, I'll work on that, and post it soon.

Ok, so next to no time now as well. If I had to vote now it'd be Crub, as it is I'm not going to leave my vote out there whilst away for 3 days without access. I was going to call for TSQ to post something, but a look at a newbie game he's modding tells me he's having some kind of computer troubles.

My big problem with the quicklynch theory is it means that we can't have a Crub-Andy pairing. I like a Crub-Andy pairing. It makes sense. But eh. That post...
it's kinda hard to describe my reaction. My first thought was not that he was priming for a quicklynch. I've seen the argument he used used before, and in that case it was correct. It actually didn't cross my mind that it could be that.

That said... I see where IH and Glork are coming from. Thinking back to my second game where I was scum with Glork, day 2 we needed a mislynch to win (newbie game). One of the townies had voted for the cop and I only needed Glork to log in and we had won. At that point I got very antsy, including making a post simply to bump the thread. Eventually Glork logged on and we won. So I see why the post might be a scum primer, and indeed, given the timestamps that seems the most likely explanation.

In which case, who is the third scum? It can't be Andy, or he wouldn't be trying to set up a mislynch. The connection with Patrick is weakened - the big connection I felt there was Andy-Patrick, not Crub Patrick. Still, I think Patrick is scummy individually. Tsq or Bookitty then for the final scumbuddy. Ugh. If I had to pick, I'd pick TSQ. Bookitty's recent posts read town to me.

TSQ-Crub-Patrick? Even that doesn't feel quite right. Bleh.
