But shaka, first you say shits and giggles, now it was a pressure vote? What reason do you have to pressure Khel, anyways? By the time of your vote he had shown up and explained his absence.yeahthatguy224 wrote:Since this is so early in the game, I'm sure no one's foolish enough to finish off someone without enough backup from the rest of the community.
On a side note, Khel, care to explain your reasoning behind the role fishing vote, since no one else noticed it.
Here's why I said he was rolefishing, albeit very poorly.Mizzy wrote: Ditto, please...it totally flew by me...I didn't notice such a thing.
A pressure vote is a vote designed to make the person being voted on claim or contribute to the game. Since this was random voting, a pressure vote definitely couldn't be done to make someone contribute. It was him wanting me to claim so that I would get the BW off.shaka!! wrote:I thought it was rather apparent thatmy vote was a pressure vote.Lag actually does exist in real life. That's odd, I was under the distinct impression that a pressure vote was a vote made to see how a player reacts under pressure and/or to draw out scum by interaction (specifically, through early defense).Khelvaster wrote:<snip>

Maybe, later on, I could see someone trying to force a claim, but that's a little early, isn't it? In addition to that, with a bandwagon of three on page two I hardly think anyone WOULD feel pressured to claim.-

My apologies--I am still convinced that a pressure vote is an attempt to get a roleclaim. There is no possible way I could respond with this little information currently in the game except by claiming if I were subjected to a "pressure vote." The fact that his vote wans't actually a pressure vote doesn't change his intentions.Lag actually does exist in real life. The pressure vote wasn't only about you, I wanted to see how other people would react to it as well. Scum have a tendency to make big deals of small things. After all, this was only a third vote, out of 7.Khelvaster wrote:My apologies--I am still convinced that a pressure vote is an attempt to get a roleclaim. Her? Thats a male symbol under my avatar thankyouverymuch.
My body's recovery from new years was taking all of my time the past couple of days, my apologies. Khel, you're clearly overreacting to the mini bandwagon that formed on you. Pressure vote can mean a lot more than pressing for a role claim, and you've been reacting poorly under the pressure so far.-

If I'm reading this correctly, you believe that Shaka's intention was to get a role claim out of you (on page 2) and this is what you've based your vote on. I think that's a bit of a reach.Khelvaster wrote:The fact that his vote wans't actually a pressure vote doesn't change his intentions.|\==|==/|\==|==/|-

Honestly, Shaka saying that he vote was for "shits and giggles" comes off as being kind of accurate. "For shits and giggles" can mean for entertainment or to watch reactions, or both. In this case, I am sure Shaka just wanted to see what would happen, which is a form of pressure vote.RetroDucts wrote:

Pressure votes can be cast for a variety of reasons; To incite activity, to gauge reactions, to gain a role claim, to entertain, to cause mischief.
I don't think that on page 2, a pressure vote can be construed as anything as for pure shits and giggles, because honestly, what good do any of the other uses do you when they don't apply yet?PokerFace: "I need to play with [Ether] or Mizzy more often."
