Okay, look. You people are way overcomplicating this. The interpretation is maddeningly simple.

LYNCH ACHIEVED - Was it on Town? If yes, was Sly on it? If yes, points reset. If no, point gained. Was it on scum? If yes, point gained. If no, points reset.

Two points gets him a doublevote.

Desperado's reasoning was terrible.
Let's move along.

If it were a scumrole, it would basically be "You get to doublevote starting D3."

Scum is pretty well-defined colloquially. Scum = not Town.

Now you're a liar.

My LAL PL stance is a baseline.

I know how to play baseball. 3 strikes you're out. Die scum!

Now, I'm just having fun. :]

I've modded games here with town millers and death millers. I know they exist. I also know the proper play is to claim it immediately. I know that play is used by scum sometimes, and so do others in this game.

Now that I know you're not clinging to remnants in the toilet, I can hear the town possibility in your miller claim. If that's right, I'm on your side. Peace.

I've been reading up on CURSE OF STRAHD.
Spent the last hour or so reading a session report on BGG.
Drinking wine.
Having a good night.

Also read up on Mouse Guard too, basically reminding myself to play it at some point of my life.
