A lot of the game is decided by bot lane right now, and the hilariously ironic part is that it's not because bot lane itself is strong, but because bot lane is so weak that it's easy to create advantages for the rest of the team just by abusing the enemy bot lane. Jungle just happens to be the best role to take advantage of that.
did
did you just say I was wrong about the jungler having the most agency
then go on to describe how the jungler has the most agency
I agree that Jungle has the most agency out of every role overall. It doesn't have more agency than support in the case I specifically mentioned, since jungle right now is more about abusing the lanes to get yourself ahead so that you can carry, not about finding who can carry you and allowing them to carry you.
They don't even need to. The meta junglers get powerful fast enough that they can really start to snowball just off having ganks work at all. Lanes getting ahead aren't as impactful since jungle ganks are enough to cancel out the impact that it gives.

In general, I've been getting this sense too. The Assassin/stealth changes and the ADC neutering, in general, all seem to combine to create a meta in which neither of those roles can snowball with any consistency, even when looking within a single game. I agree that Junglers decide the fate of the game nowadays.
I consider losing a 600 health shield per allied champion and a 500 heal per allied champion from locket / redemption to be more significant than dealing an extra 600 damage from her full rotation when going ap (if it is even that much?).
And I am not doing the math for what windspeakers / redemption bonus healing/shielding passive do to the numbers above, those are rough estimates of base healing / shielding
I think that if redemption / locket were to be nerfed then it might be viable to go ap on sona, but at the moment redemption is insane and has excellent synergy with locket, so
i think lichbane/thunderlord sona gives a lot of damage over a midgame teamfight, but if you're playing it like syndra that's wrong. you still need to glue to your adc (or mid if they're trash) and provide your healshields. beyond that redemption is super strong, especially having the heal shielding multipliers going through windspeakers. i don't think there's any middle ground where you want to build straight AP.

o_O You thought I was done with what?
After those ARAMs we played together a couple weeks ago you sounded so done with the game.
Or at least you've been soured by it but can't walk out because we all like abusive relationships?
Idk I keep entertaining coming back but I keep having to remind myself we can't make this great again.

I play an ARAM every once in a while for IP.
I refuse to play on Summoner's Rift without a 5-player premade group. I'm absolutely sick of the playerbase. ARAM isn't usually so bad because people go in with lowered expectations. I usually end up reporting someone anyway because inevitably someone has to be an asshole about something.
