Okay fine, Pine thought it was a whiteknight and I sorta agreed with him.
It was moreso Pep didn't really put any effort into reading Ironstove or didn't really want to show any until I told Pep to go ISO him. Like he didn't want to bring attention to someone who could be his buddy.
