Use any role, yes. Just make sure you know if they make it bastard or not, and that any nonstandard roles are well explained in the PMs.

You can use any role but afaik they'll discuss the balance first. Lots of role madness games have unique roles or unique adaptations of already made roles.

Best advice I can give while designing role madness is to not let it be broken by mass claiming

Also, you probably could run the game from the Alt if you let the listmods know your main and that you have the proper experience.
