I suck at balancing games, but why does this matter? In terms of your role in this game, how does the fact that I find it difficult to come up with a role to balance out a similar role which you have made up actually matter?

Obviously, your inability to make a reasonable counter role has to do with the fact that there isn't a reasonable counter role.

So yeah, this is pretty much a challenge to all of you great designers who signed up for this game.

YOU are using the argument that there could be a counter role to my role- I'm asking for an example.

nobody would be able to design a role specific enough to counter mine.

I stand by this. You have failed to provide an example for a role that works.

Both of those roles counter mine, sure. They also counter every role action that has ever existed ever. So no, it is not a specific counter to my role.

And you can't say "you're wrong, here's why, oh and by the way shut up we have important things to do!!!!"

Or, another role could strip you of your ability to speak, or maybe disallow your use of vowels.

This argument is about my role hypothetically existing if there's a power matcher to block it. Including a role that strips someone's ability does not balance the ability of winning once you gets all of the tickets, because this ability can be won on day one. Meanwhile, if the role wins and is removed from the game, the blocker role will go on to be incredibly powerful.

Fair enough, maybe you don't automatically win once you get all the tickets, but for example, you could have a role like:

TicketMaster

: You are the ticket master. During the day, advirtise for tickets. For every two tickets you sell, you get one kill. You are self aligned.

Uhm, not really.

The argument seemed to jump back and forth between talking about

your

role, which is unknown as of this moment, and some other

hypothetical

role which won as soon as 50% of the town bought tickets.

here's a thought....perhaps someone submitted a role and the counter role to balance it out.

As I was thinking of ideas for roles, I did consider ways to balance. I'm not saying thats what happened but it is a possibility.

I still think that my vote on schitz is where I want it to be right now. I just get the vibe from his logic and posts.

This is BAD LOGIC and is completely false... The last part of the argument was several players saying that yes a counter to that role (and yours, and everyone elses) could exist, then saying that we won the argument, now lets get back to the game.

Why won't you just admit that a counterrole could exist? Is that so hard to do? And stop saying that it has to be a specific counter to your role (or the hypothetical one) there is no such thing as a roleblocker that can only block roleblockers... it would be a worthless role.

Surprisingly I still like my Mneme vote... /shrug. Don't really get the schism wagon and I don't believe in lynching public/clearable roles on Day 1.
