MULTIPLE NUCLEAR BLASTS DESTROY CHAOSOMEGA

A series of relitivaly small, but still fairly powerful, nuclear bunker buster bombs rain down upon the mountains of the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Other nuclear strikes hit various parts of the Middle East, Northern Africa, and other parts of the world that are major terrorist recruiting grounds.

It is certain that the direct and indirect effects of these nuclear weapons have killed millions of innocent civilians, and the lingering effects will doubtless kill millions more. It is also certain that the damages to the oil infastructure have pushed the world farther back into chaos, and combined with the earlier destruction and war, the entire world economy has sunk into the most serious depression in a centruy. However, one more thing is certain; with the entire leadership of Al-Quaeda, the Islamic Brotherhood, and various and sundry other terroist groups utterly vaporised, and the parts of the world they hid in reduced to radioactive glass or toxic rubble, the entire orginisation of the various terrorist movements has been completly erased.

FLAMEAXE SURVIVES MISSILE STRIKE

While Internatioanl Terrorism (chaos omega) had managed to launch a number of rockets, short-range ground-to-ground missiles, and other letal attacks at FlameAxe before it's destruction, it appears that Chaos Omega in fact never managed to aquire nuclear weapons, and thus the attacks did not destroy FlameAxe.

The new UN, quickly acting to try to eliminate any remaining threats to world security (before the surviving members end up nuked off the map themselves) decide to launch a clean-up operation against worldwide orginized crime, especally those elements known to be involved in arms dealing. As this effort was undertaken with a seriousness, a paranoid obsession that has never before been devoted to the fighting of this kind of crime, it was completly sucessfull.

Unfortunatly, in doing so, the world community actually ended up eliminating one of the main threats TO the "New World Order", and thus by eliminating one of their main enemies actually HELPED them in their mission to take over the world. But, hey, you can't win them all, right?

Unprecedented in the recent history of this tiny, strictly goverenered, communist police state, a series of protests have started against the government. Foreign infaltrators, from some political group known as “New World Order”, recently started a very effective propaganda campaign, mostly through the use of underground presses, spreading information about how much richer people are in South Korea, in China, and in the rest of East Asia then they are in North Korea. Pictures of ordinary people driving cars, having nice cloths, and eating decent food were to be found everywhere, a kind of propaganda that it was impossible to ignore.

The first riots happened amount the farmers in the countryside. These were quickly put down, but the disruption in food production, combined with the fact that with the other disasters and the collapsing world economy, the world community could no longer afford to give food to North Korea, led to mass starvation, which led to more riots. Within a few short weeks, the government was no longer even able to feed the army, at which point the army stopped putting down the riots. Army units in many places even started to join the riots, at which point it became a full scale revolution.

The government of North Korea, the communist party, no longer exists as a single unified body, it has instead been replaced by a half-dozen warlords sqabbling over limited and shrinking food resources. The capital city Pyongyang has been nearly abandonded, and it is unclear who, if anyone, controls what may remain of the feared North Korean nuclear weapons program.
