Ok, mostly satisfied with Glork's response. About the quote, I wanted to know what was yes and what was no.

Elmo wrote:No kidding. Glork's gotta be 100% certain about who the scum are by the middle of day 1, otherwise he's scummy!!!

Actually, I took care not to make a particular joke about that, because I imagine that kind of thing really grates after a while.
-_-

Did you even read my posts? Like I said, I'm not sure it makes him scum. But it's not a pattern of behaviour I'm used to seeing from him. It's not that he hasn't caught scum, that would the burden of proficiency fallacy, it's that he seems to be weighting his opinions less than normal. There are multiple explanations for Glork's behaviour and not all of them make him scum, but until I understand how he's playing, there's little point analysing his behaviour.
elmo wrote: I think you're full of badness. Find a recent game where the contrast would be most striking. I'm fairly neutral towards Glork at the moment, but you're making a big deal out of something that's obviously null. Glork's responses make perfect sense to me, thus far. It's been a slow game, why does he have to have strong suspicions? I didn't until yesterday, and I don't think anyone else did.

This entire line stinks, honestly. Glork has to either argue that he's not a brilliant scumhunter or that he has 100% confidant found scum. This is incredibly unreasonable. I also think he gives you too much leniency because he's had so many people say it before, but I think you're scummy for posing it, because there's no way he can answer right.
You've completely misunderstood where I'm coming from. Read Glork's posts in this game. Looking back, closest finished applicable game from glork is Shrek Mafia. Read his posts in that game. Do you see the difference? The other finished gma e in between in communique, but that's a bad example as it was limited reveal with bizarre mechanics. If you want further evidence, you can read what he himself stated in this thread - that he has toned down his boldness. It's not something I'm making up. It doesn't necessarily make him scum. It does need an answer though. And it's got one. And now I drop it, because it's no longer interesting to me.
Elmo wrote: This is failure, too. He's on four votes and you devote a single line to him and can't be arsed to reread his all of 20 oneliner posts? Opinions, please, NOW.
You may have noticed I have limited access right now. This has not been a priority game, and jdodge has not been a priority player for me to look at this game. In addition, I have great difficulty reading jdodge anyway. Of course, I could read his posts, but I'm not going to just because you threaten me. And I have read the thread, but I skimmed through what didn't interest me. Hence missing the discssion leading to Glork's vote on Jdodge. I'm sorry if this offends your sensibilities, but I simply don't have time to be thorough right now.
I do, in fact, read things, including 358. When he votes apple, apple has my vote (random), and Ripley's vote (why'd apple move his random vote? a very very weak case for a lynch), and apple could use a little more pressure, in my view. It's not looking at all like a lynch-bandwagon. Guess who's originally poking Patrick a little about his vote, here? You're not only wrong, you're BASICALLY PARROTING GLORK WHILE ACCUSING HIM AT THE SAME TIME. His vote on apple is fine.
If I were parroting Glork, I would be reapeating his argument, which clearly isn't true as you're not attacking Glork. Think man.

Yes, I agree it's not looking like a lynch wagon. So what? It's still a wagon. If Patrick's intention had been to wagon for pressure, maybe I'd understand. Instead, it just looks like an easy move on to a wagon that won't draw too many strange gazes. And if it did take off, Patrick being early on the wagon would be a benefit to him as scum. I don't think this is a difficult concept. Yet, this isn't scummy alone - it's the fact that he does it again that worries me.

A wagon forms on Andy with the third vote at post 73. I put the forth one on in 86. Patrick posts without voting at 88. Guess who jumps onto the Andywagon next, in 98? One Shanba, to bring it back up to four. Patrick doesn't vote Andy until 247. What are you smoking? His vote on Andy is fine from the view of jumping on a bandwagon that's just taking off. Your accusation is intensely hypocritical. Your quiet no-reason vote looks worse, on that note, as it was when Andy could have been moving towards a lynch.
My vote being the fourth means it's quite difficult for me to be moving onto a bandwagon that's just taking off, I would say. Also, my vote had a clear purpose that Patrick's lacked. Yes, perhaps it was an exaggeration to say that they were wagons that were just taking off. But it wasn't a large one. They both folllowed the mood of the last few posts pretty much exactly, and they were both on players who had been under scrutiny. I don't think what I said is as much of a stretch as you make out.

I think your argument is terrible, bluntly. 372 gives me really scummy vibes.

I would totally dayvig either JDodge or Shanba. Or both.[/quote]

Ok, Shanba. I suppose you're at least now not saying things about me which are blatantly false, though I still find the attack ridiculous overall.
Shanba wrote:Patrick: How are bandwagons started? To be sure, no one was calling for his head. But what if Andy had reacted badly to your vote? The residual suspicion on him was such that it could very eagerly have become a decent wagon. Hrm, how to explain.
I've left out the whole part about the forest. The "what if?" part is silly here. Is there some reason why Andy was likely to react badly to my vote, as opposed to say, anyone else? I didn't particularly get the impression he was freaking out when he had 3-4 votes on him, why would my vote suddenly make him "react badly"? Couldn't you be making this same point about alot of votes in this game?
Shanba wrote:My vote being the fourth means it's quite difficult for me to be moving onto a bandwagon that's just taking off, I would say. Also, my vote had a clear purpose that Patrick's lacked. They both folllowed the mood of the last few posts pretty much exactly, and they were both on players who had been under scrutiny. I don't think what I said is as much of a stretch as you make out.
Actually, I don't think your fourth vote had that clear a purpose. A vote without any stated reason is pretty flexible for you. You can jump off later and claim it was only for pressure, or you can just leave it there and add some reasons later. My vote had the obvious purpose of expressing my suspicion of him. I still think you're overstating the mood or trend against him at the point, but I suppose that's more subjective. (I could accuse you of something similar regarding your vote on me, as Ripley said, Glork clears his throat for a possible vote on me, and you jumped in).

It somewhat bothers me how you seem to be ignoring significant parts of the game, and avoiding taking stances on them, though I suppose if you've been on limited access that excuses it slightly.

Andy, what do you think of JDodge? You've posted after the bandwagon formed on him but not commented on it.

Bleh. JDodge's last post causes me to waver on him slightly. Sikario, I might regret asking, but what was that stuff about testing him? Why would him refusing to vote the biggest rival wagon make you vote for him?

About JD's wagon... I never understood why it started and answers like 400 aren't that helpful, but I don't like his first reaction to it. Two OMGUSy votes in 385, 331 (331 says "It's NOT OMGUS before you ask, thx") Otherwise I still see no reason to wagon JD. I understand voting for forcing him to be active, but he appears in here and automagically a wagon begins on him. In short: I don't see the reason behind the wagon (or I missed it) but I definetly don't like the way he reacts to it.

Since it looks increasingly like I will be lynched at the end of the day, let the record state that I'm pretty sure Elmo, Glork and Patrick are scum.

If I'm wrong on Patrick, my next choice would be Shanba.

Just a few final words. Sikario looks less scummy after metagame research that dictates he always acts like a complete idiot.

Unvote, vote: Elmo

We've got a bit over 5 hours until deadline hits, unless 3 more people post after me. Doesn't seem like that should be too hard to accomplish.

Also, although you've been going after Elmo, it looks like you're suspicions of Glork and me have just come out nowhere.

Actually, given the nature of deadline rules in this game, part of me wonders if the scums are sitting idly by right now... it might be a good idea to look at deadline lurkers at some point.

Still, JD is definitely the play today. Happy where my vote is.

Sorry--studies, computer failure, college essay, in that order. There were only five distinct posters on December 1st ({Andycyca, JDodge, Patrick, Glork, Ripley}), so that's a lynch.
Final Votecount wrote:5 JDodge (Ripley, Glork, Elmo, Sikario8, Andycyca)
2 Elmo (Crub, JDodge)
2 IH (Jonny Appleseed, wank)
1 wank (IH)
1 Andycyca (Patrick)
1 Patrick (Shanba)

12 alive; 7 to lynch.
"Right. JDodge, they're probably not gonna change their minds at this point, so let's call that a lynch so we can get to sleep. Please don't kill each other while I'm out--'dead' players just go to a different cell, since you hardened criminal types probably can't appreciate subtle concepts like winning posthumously.

"So, yeah, JDodge, please come with me. And don't make a break for it."

"What about the money?" Sikario demands. JDodge's armpit tightens. Ether looks confused, so he quickly adds, "And his alignment."

"Oh, yes. Town. Vanilla."

IH, who is playing word associations in the background, mumbles, "So vanilla, he was like ice cream."

"Strawberry," says Wank.

"Cake," says Crub.

JDodge's ear perks at this, and he proclaims, "IS A LIE."

"Um, no, you really were vanilla town. Are we done yet?"

JDodge (Vanilla Townie), has been lynched. It is now Night 1.

Jonny Appleseed has e-mailed me to say that he's still having problems accessing MafiaScum, so I'll look for a replacement.

If you have a nightchoice, try to get it in before 11:35 PM Eastern this Tuesday, but realistically you'll have a bit later than that because of the replacement thing.

Apple has been moved out of the cell, but the poisoned orange juice hasn't been. Jonny Appleseed looks at it. Wordlessly, he picks up the paper cup and tears a strip of it off. Then he dips it in the orange juice. Then he taps the twenty-sixth brick diagonal from the top-left corner of the back of the cell and disappears through the gaping hole that appears in the wall.

Everyone stares. Finally Patrick stands up and approaches the hole. He starts to climb though when another person falls out.

"You're playing mafia, right? Lucky.
My
group was put outside with the rattlesnakes to dig holes. 'It builds character.' Those new penal regulations are just awful.

"I think I'm going to take the card that other guy dropped and stay here, if it's all the same to you."

By now, the hole Jonny Appleseed escaped through has shrunk into a discreet crack. So, yeah, it's all the same to you.

Elmo has a bad dream. First Britain gets nuked. Then the Sesame Street crew has to move shop, and he has 48 hours to learn Chinese. But he isn't learning fast enough, and when he visits another tent there's some monstrous half-sewn muppet there, and he
knows
that when it's finished it's going to eat him and take his job.

Then there's something about lead puppeteer Kevin Clash having a seizure.

"Huhwhat?"

JDodge stops shaking him. "You were here when I woke up. What's happening with the others?"

"Dunno; I fell asleep. Nothing better to do. Oh--they finally moved Apple's body out, though. And a kitten kultist replaced that serial killer who replaced him. And there was this hole in the wall and we all could have escaped, except...

"...except I didn't want to abandon you, of course."

"Yay."

Elmo, Vanilla Townie, has been nightkilled. It is now Day 2. Day goes into deadline starting Thursday, December 27th. With 10 alive, it's 6 to lynch.
