I take no personal offense, but I understand the offense some have taken. I know PC culture is out of control. However, just as we don't say certain racially specific words due to negative connotations, ex:

There are many things which are overly PC. I don't see why "midget" or "oriental" or similar things are not proper. But if I know people find them offensive, I try to avoid them.

I do not call things "gay" to say they are stupid, because that is disrespectful. We avoid using "retarded" to show displeasure, as it is just not right.

Like, it's really not hard to curb your usage of the word. You use it to get reactions, obviously. Nobody else means "people who I think should be lit on fire" when they say it. Nobody assumes that is what's meant by it. So just pick a different word to relay that feeling, since "faggot" is widely accepted as a term which puts down ones gender identity, and is negative regardless of connotation.

Technically, all of this is merely a request, and it's up to you to proceed. But unless you have a special attachment to the word, please consider scrapping it.
